The wife is in the highest position and concubines are (yes) just for breeding purposes. This particular emperor doesn’t have a wife so all the concubines are effectively competing for that position. The fact that one birthed a son basically means she’s in the lead.
20:25 Clarification, Lady Lihua isn't the lady in blue that pushed the flower aside, there's a lot of people who make that mistake because of their similar appearance and color scheme. Lady Lihua could have learned of the warning when Gyouyou went to talk to her, but by then she was also being affected by the poison, making her erratic. The makeup was giving them lead poisoning. Even in the original Japanese credits, that character has her own name and a different voice actress.

God I LOVE Apothecary Diaries!! Maomao is one of the best characters. She is SO FUNNY sometimes! This show is kind of a cross between a medical drama and crime drama so each episode really draws you in.

this is a great show with one of the best female leads I've ever seen. This has the right amount of humor, plot/mystery and romance - you will love it!

A really great series that encourages attention and speculation. Could be a very self contained story with its two seasons, though I'm betting most fans want more.
If you like this kind of show, I'd recommend Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai. It's airing this season and does have some supernatural elements, but it does mainly focus on intelligence and political manuvering like this show.

Hey so uh, I realise you normally only react to songs & shows on here but just hear me out for a moment - I know ya try to read most of your comments, just pay attention to this one for a minute.
Hi-Fi rush is a game that I've played recently, and I think is definitely something worth reacting to. I have no idea if you've heard about the game before but in case you haven't let me try my best to sell it to ya man (it's worth it). There are no spoilers in this comment by the way in case you do decide to try it out for yourself.
You play as a kid named Chai - who wants to someday be a rockstar - who attempts to use a company that manufactures robotic enhancements to make people's lives better. Upon his surgery to get his robot arm, an accident occurs which causes his MP3 player to become implanted into his chest. For the rest of the game *EVERYTHING* syncs up to the beat of the background music. The gameplay itself is incredibly satisfying; a mixture of platformer and fighting, where again everything including the player's inputs are synced to the music. The soundtrack itself is such a banger, and there is a streamer mode soundtrack (meaning you won't get copyrighted and the music literally does not sound much different at all) so it's impossible not to at least have a little listen to some of them. Music itself may not be a good reaction video but the cutscenes and some of the gameplay certainly is!
If you are intending to give it a go, I'd personally recommend recording one or two stages, then editing out most of the gameplay unless you say anything important. In total the game is around 10 hours of gameplay I think? Cutscenes make up around 20% so you won't have to upload too many 10 minute videos on it if that is what you'd prefer lengthwise (though 30 minute videos is probably recommended - there are so many little gags and easter eggs hidden in the game man, like animations this game has a _lot_ of jokes and tiny details that you'd never see unless you really pay attention to all the small details like logs).
Game does cost around 20 GBP and I have no clue how much that is for you, unless you have Xbox gamepass in which case it's free. Playing with a controller is recommended (if not necessary I haven't tested) but dude it's just too good for you to miss it man. At least give it a go, or do some research so you know what you're getting into. Not telling you to become a gaming channel, just don't want you to miss out on 10 hours of gameplay you'll never forget ;)
And yes. The game is definitely reaction worthy. Make sure to check all the hidden logs too (the blue PDAs or computers you can interact with, that is) so you don't miss out on the coffee joke XD
PLEASE do not watch this dubbed. Maomao is voiced by Aoi Yuki (aka the greatest VA ever) so it's really way to sad to waste it. Also this is a show where you'll probably miss important stuff in the dub.

No, it's so hard to watch reaction videos when they use the subbed version, the text is too small because it's a double screen, you can't just listen to it to know what part they're reacting to - and this dub is great!
