  • There appeared in London a man who styled himself the messiah, and for many weeks a large crowd was attracted to him. One night, however, as he was talking in one of the open squares in the city, a small band of the Salvation Army passed along, singing,
"I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
By the print of the nails in His hand."
The great throng joined in the chorus. Finally someone pointed at the self-styled Christ and said, "Look at his hands and see if the print of the nails is there." They did as directed, but no print appeared, and they at once left off following him.

This is the first time I heard this song and by this amazing choir. It sounded like the voice of angels.
The Church is lacking in worship songs that are as beautiful as these old church hymns.
One indicator that I look for when visiting a new congregation is whether they still sing these forgotten but beautiful classics.

I grew up a rock in roller, but when i invited jesus into my life at 19 i began learning the great hymns. I might know about thirty of them, and i write gospel music to many of the old popular melodies.

Fanny Crosby lost her eye sight early in her life, but her spiritual sight was always 20/20 about knowing God and always looking forward to seeing with new eye sight her Savior, Jesus Christ.

All her writings reveal the intimate knowledge she has of scripture. I believe she would praising the Lord for her handicap were it not for that she may have a lesser knowledge of his word. The songs just spill out from her very soul and continues to effect us now for her love of His word. She surely has an award waitng there. Well done my beloved servant. Amen!

She saw more than most of us that can see and these hymns are written from the heart and from the word. We can only love Jesus as much as we know Him and His word. A sure sad sign is that many meetings today do not even have the Lord's table because these hymns and especially the words need to be the center of the table. We Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs pouring out of all the saints not just a few so-called leaders. Christ is in the body and He wants each member to function. More members function and more joy and the Lord will be happy as well.

Tim James The Bible says in heaven all those who believe in Jesus as the only perfect Person to pay for our personal sins to a Holy God, will receive a new body, a perfect spiritual body. When Jesus returned to earth after His death and resurrection He had that perfect body which even walked through walls. He was recognizable to His disciples, he had human features, including the nail prints in his hands, as this hymn alludes to.

Praise the Lord for lives who honored Him and left us inspirational hymns the Lord can touch us with, singing to us, songs in the nights of nights and we are inspired by the Light of His blessed presence within and He let’s us to know, nothing is too hard for Him. He is our God of all comfort and our very best Friend Who knows what we have need of, eternally that carries us through the fires life holds and we see and hear what He brings home to encourage and strengthen us. We are blessed to have such magnificent and powerful intercessor Who lifts us us to our Heavenly Father with Who all things according to His Word are possible. Praise the Lord!

I shall know Him by the prints of the nails on His hands...By His wounds we are healed, and His scars are a reminder of His eternal love for us. Lord Jesus, help me to embrace my scars...they're a sign of your love that would and will never let me go nor end in the hands of the evil one!

As a believer, my Savior is the first one I want to see when I go to heaven! He saved me from a life of having to live in sin! I
then want to see my beloved husband who was to me as Christ was to the Church! He loved me more than himself and
he always inspired me! Praise Jesus I am able to see my best friend and husband again in heaven. Nelson Dean Roth, I
cannot wait to see you again! Then there is my Dad and my great Uncle William B Bradbury! I would love to be able to
write hymns and also compose the music to hymns as William B Bradbury did in the 19th century! God uses many willing

I cannot say why your wife is not noticing you or responding to you in the way you would like her to. By your question I suppose this is mostly physically rather than spiritually or and sometimes they are linked. If you can be as Christ is to the church, His bride. He is forgiving, loving, patient, etc. Perseverance with her might be the key. Don’t give up but you are also going to have not neglect your time with the Lord, seriously praying and reading from His word. You need to find a good church to go to faithfully that preaches the correct theology taught in His holy word. Everything in world we do this world is to glorify Him and not ourselves. My prayers are with you tonight Larrie.

It's shocking that a preacher can hold the view that sinners will not go to heaven. Heaven will be full of sinners who will have been justified sanctified and eventually glorified at Jesus second coming to live with him forever and ever. It is only then that sin will be no more.

I stopped going to church because they stopped singing the songs that I grew up with. Then a friend and I tried a new church. There was a rock band on the stage. When they started playing it was so loud that it was too loud even with earplugs. We could only tolerate about ten minutes. I wrote to the pastor that the volume was loud enough to cause hearing damage. He apologized, but we never went back. It was a dreadful experience. I don't understand how people can tolerate it.

That's interesting. But, it's not surprising since we are in the
Revelation 3:14 (Laodicean) church age period, where
Christ is not really present in the churches anymore.

I agree with you Cryptfire, the Pentecostal church threw out Christ by following manmade dogmas and that why He is out knocking

@@LoveFlatfootin1 same happened to me. Loud, obnoxious rock band, followed by a very shallow, inconsequential “sermon”. Never returned to this “community” church in Illinois.

Then why are you asking the questions like you don't know?
Anyone, including Christians, who say they are not sinners misunderstands Christ's teaching:
I John. 1:8: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us”
If you believe the Bible you will realize we all sin, even as believers. Only Christ can justify, not us. Our works apart from Him are filthy rags.

Fanny Crosby was blind. When you listen to this song with this in mind the words get an ever deeper meaning.

What a beautiful hymn! I think that we shall spend a few thousand years of eternity just singing her hymns, not that one can spend eternity because it is forever!
