    Despite rising bond yields and falling stock prices, the markets remain uncertain about whether the Federal Reserve will maintain its objective of raising interest rates until inflation is subdued. As I contemplate whether to sell my $401k in equities, what's the most effective strategy for capitalizing on the current downturn in the market?

    • @StacieBMui
      @StacieBMui 5 месяцев назад

      The best market strategy at the moment is working with a respected investment coach. I've been in touch with a coach for a time now, mostly because I lack the depth of understanding and mental toughness to deal with these ongoing market conditions. During this recession, I made about $700k, proving that the market is more complicated than most people think.

      Accurate asset allocation is crucial. Some use hedging or defensive assets in their portfolio for market downturns. Seeking financial advice is vital. This approach has kept me financially secure for over five years, with a return on investment of nearly $1 million.

      1. interest is based on the actual issue date of bonds (every 6 months).. and not based on your purchase date.
      2. Your bank account linked with dmat account.
      3. Same as the maturity of the bond. Nse website would have details of each bond that was issues.

    Also when gold price comes down. It will crash the gold sovereign bond market. Common man will not get the price which he invested and also u will only have sellers in the bond market.
    Government should look at extending the bond holding period for customers if the gold price comes down at the time of bond maturity date or capital protection policy for common man.

    pls share taxation angle when buying from secondary market. for e.g. if we buy an SGB which is maturing in 2 years. As per understanding, it should be 0% capital gains tax as am holding till maturity (8 years of the bond). However my actual holding period is 2 years (less than 36 months so will it trigger short term tax).

    1. If I want to hold my gold bonds in my demat account beyond 8 years, say for 12-15 years and keep earning the 2.5℅ interest. Is this possible? Or the RBI automatically redeems the bonds after 8 years?
    2. If suppose RBI allows to hold it beyond 8 years then can I still sell it to RBI after say 10 years at prevailing gold price then?
    3. Does the RBI buy back the bond that I purchase from secondary market or it buys back only those that were purchased from RBI only?

      Aap secondary market me bhi buy karte ho to bhi apko interest milega. Lekin wo interest apko apke buying price pe nahi milega, wo apko milega bond ke face value pe.

    Sir,
    Recently I observed most of the sgb bonds are available on nse at discount to current IBJA rates which are benchmark for sgb. Can I know reason?
    SGB are available at discount to current SGB issue also.
    Shall we go for direct buy from market or shall we subscribe issue?

    Suppose I buy SGB from secondary market and keep it in demat form. Suppose it's maturity is 3 years from now and I keep it till maturity. Then whether capital gains tax will be applicable or not at maturity.

    • @AssetYogi
      @AssetYogi  4 года назад

      SGBs not only allow investors to benefit from the capital appreciation but also pay a fixed interest on the holding. They are also tax-efficient as capital gains are tax-exempt if they are held till maturity (eight years).

      @@AssetYogi thanks for your reply. This means even if I hold SGB for 3 year's ( not 8 years as I have bought a 5 year old SGB from secondary market whose remaining life is 3 years ), then at maturity my capitals gains tax is exempt. Am I right ?

    if I buy sgb offline and keep it till 5 years after that I can sell it myself or have to sell RBI only.
    And after 8 years if I want to sell it back to RBI and if as per RBI protocol they will calculate last 3 day's rates of gold, and if it's come on a lower side can I sell it after a month or a week or 3 months? Instant of selling on the spot to RBI?

    • @ProfitYogi
      @ProfitYogi 4 года назад

      After maturity, you can sell it on the interest payment date.

    Thanks for all explanation, i have few questions
    1. If we buy from direct market or secondary market, when the 2.5 % will come to our account (after 1 year of a purchase or RBI has fix date of payment?)
    2. If we buy the SGB from seconday market whose expiration is in next 3 years. If we sale that bond right after locking period, can our gain is tax free ?
    Thanks 👍
