Braid outs are all I do for my high porosity hair. It's more manageable, less tangled and much better results. Plus I keep my hair braided unless I'm going somewhere, my hair stay braided until the next wash day.
Sounds great Fiona!!! I did braid outs here & there in the past but I think they’re perfect for my hair at this length. I’m glad you’re having success with the braid out as well! 😊
I can definitely agree with your points . I’m not really a braid out person I’ve tried it twice before and I’m not a fan of the more separating. So I found a happy medium with twiadouts I did that for 4 months and loved it . My hair got the stretch it needed, it wasn’t so much volume at the roots so I could achieve more sleek looks, the take down wasn’t as long and I loved the definition and longevity.
@@kumikco90 Thanks for your reply. When I braid, which is seldom, I twist near the ends. Braiding is so labor-intensive for me but I am going to try more loose twiadouts, since I am blowing my hair out more with my Revair.
@@rinawallace1962 that’s exactly how I feel about braid outs. With the twaidout it’s quicker to me since u start twist toward then ends . I think your like it because it will show off more length and the more you do it the faster u get it .
I’m just going to be a lazy natural forever 😔 I would luv to just braid it or twist it… but with me having fine hair, I don’t see much of a difference wether I twist, braid or wash and go…. Wash n go seem so quick n easy. To lazy to diffuse…. Maybe one day…. All your reasons seem like great reason to try. TFS ✨✨
You sound like me…fine haired natural here for just over 8 years & I’m STILL on the wash n go bandwagon! For one I genuinely do like my curl pattern & think that it’s absolutely beautiful. And for another I came to the realization a long time ago that my twist outs come out looking just like my wash n gos & it was up from there 🤣😅 I do diffuse though because my hair never has enough volume for me on day 1 if I air dry. And sometimes air drying can be detrimental as well
Awesome video!! I’ve been doing wash and go styling lately since I’ve finally figured out what works for me. Today I’m doing a braid out trying to see how it goes and using up my stash 😊😊
Great video!!! I still don’t have the technique to do a braid out or even a twist out on my hair in the back. My arms get very tired and if I manage to braid it twist, it always unravels then looks messy while the front and sides look very defined. I also have trouble separating them. I just do wash n gos because I don’t have the time to twist or braid my hair. Also my spouse is not super supportive of me being natural and often gives me a hard time for “ still working on my hair”
Thank you so much T J! I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble braiding your hair in the back. Have you tried braiding or twisting in larger sections? That would cut down on the amount you install & time
I’ve just done a braid out and I wasn’t expecting anything but I did the 4 on each side with mielle pomegranate leave in and twisting soufflé and I was pleased. Let me tell you I never liked braid outs but since using protein every week and finally realizing my hi po hair likes it maybe it’s cooperating now. Just a quick question do you rebraid every night in dry hair or do you rewet and braid? Hopefully I don’t jinx this but I may be a braid out queen going forward. I always say you are my blueprint for hi po hair thank you
I braid on damp hair! I leave it in a turbie twist for about 30 mins to soap up the excess water. Prior to braiding, I lightly spiritz with water and apply my products

I'd love to see how you do your braid outs on your wash day. thanks so much.
Same, I’ve swapped to braid outs for the last week or so & that’s my game plan going forward:)

Same hair! I love braid out on my high porosity type 4 hair 💕 my hair shrinks too much with a twist out.

What is a twiadout? Sounds like a good option.
Oh, is it where you start a section by braiding and then twist to the end?
@@rinawallace1962 yup that’s it 👍🏾. Yeah I really enjoyed it .
