She's hit the nail on the head with her analysis of how people list your weight and looks as such a high achievement. I've started two successful businesses from nothing and my family and friends have never commented on what an achievement that is.. If I lose weight, or wear something nice, or do my makeup well they rave about how amazing it is - as women our worth is very rarely valued as our character, intelligence or hard work.
It only matters when we seek validation for our own achievements from others It is very empowering & important, to always take time to say to yourself: WELL DONE ME! 😺
@@MsElke11 exactly, I did not know until right now watching this video that Rebel had any degrees! I've seen so many articles about her weight, what she's wearing etc, but I have never seen the media respect or champion her for being so intelligent, or having a law degree.
Rebel is clearly amazing in this but can we take a moment to also appreciate the interviewer. She did such a great job of just letting Rebel tell her story her way. It was evident that she wanted to make sure Rebel was comfortable. Great example of women lifting up other women!
It’s interesting that you say that, because I was thinking about how this interview would have gone if it was Jimmy Fallon interviewing her - he never lets anyone finish a sentence before he interrupts them.
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by an upsetting event happening in their lives that takes them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death. Why are so many people across the world suddenly having their appendix removed? The appendix is associated with “being in fear for one’s life”. The HEALING phase is the rupture/inflammation.
While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes.
Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way.
It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......
I agree, but I think both sexes should be professional and respectful with each other, not just women empowering women but all human beings. The world really needs it.
It's so interesting to see Rebel as herself and not as a loud, comedic character. She's soft spoken, deliberate, and smart. She really is glowing. Hope to see her get her academy someday.
People put too much emphasis on weight - particularly with women. Good for her that she’s been able to accept herself as is, regardless of how others see her.
I relate to her so much, I went through something similar, at 47 I decided to do a total change in my life, professionally, physically and mentally. I lost 90 lbs and launch my own business shortly after. I was just tired of being sick and tired and I decided to do something about it !I completely change my life and I am so much happier today.
I'm turning 47 in July and I've started the process of turning my life around too. I've been saying I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Thank you for this motivation!
13:40 “Just try to be the healthiest version of you. And that can look different for different people.” Many good things have been said in this interview. And this is one of the best.
@@leagratch8718 having excessive weight on your body is never healthy. It puts strain on your joints, heart, lungs, etc. It's been proven over and over again.
She has such a calm presence. her relationship with her body is beautiful. it's not about neglecting “toxic“ behavior, but acknowledging it and deciding to "change" when it feels right. Inspiring.

Husband here accidentally watched this on my wife’s account. Brilliant interview and great to see such an inspirational person make real steps forward towards equality and respect in an unbalanced world.
@@surrenderinfaith I'm 37 too and I love seeing women like Rebel Wilson. Oh btw if the previous one said your pretty I comment on it too that I agree :D Hope you're having a good summer!
I have so much respect for Rebel after this interview. She was open, candid, unpretentious about it all, humble and also confident. I really admire how she has processed her experiences professionally and personally and that she isn't hating on herself for the past, but also finding ways to move forward better. She is so smart too. Really admire her as a person, from what I can tell. Wish I could tell her haha.
Lisa Grace. I agree with every you said about Rebel except the “humble” bit. That she is not. I know she is very loyal to her friends including those who were she was close to when she was relatively unknown. She has achieved much and she has a right to be slightly arrogant and laud her achievement. Which she is and does constantly. She has always been super confident.
People tend to forget, that she is a lawyer - she even won a case for one of her films. Really intelligent woman and I'm glad she decided to look after her health. @edit due to the butthurt in the comments for usage of word "tend to" - check interviews with her, all acting surprised on her education (even lady from the BBC) - what happened to the reliable journalism and checking facts about interviewed person).
@@FC-eh7ll Sure. Rebel provides a service for entertainment, which in her specific area is humour. Feeds the soul, makes people laugh be happy. A Lawyer doesn't give a fudge about making people laugh, be happy. Just there to trick people, twist words and generally act, as I said like lower forms of life.
I managed to lose 112 pounds this past year, and she was one of the celebrities I actually took as an example for doing my own "health year". The best thing that you can do for yourself is to try and be as healthy as you can possibly be, life changes in many ways.
@@ayn3862 Yes, when I started the whole process, I weighed 396 pounds, I felt horrible throughout my body. But, when I lost all that weight, the first thing I noticed wasn't how good I looked, rather how good I feel about myself. No more back problems, knee problems. I'm still some 50 pounds short of my goal, but now I have no doubt I will make it.
I’m a personal trainer and I loved her perspective because it helps me to have a better vocabulary for my clients. She has verbalized everything that I have felt for my clients so much better than I ever could have. I will share your perspective, Rebel. You are helping people. The outward appearance doesn’t always accurately depict the inner health of a person…and that can go both ways. Bringing balance to the inner and the outer self is the goal here, ladies…tough, but we can do this!
I love her even more after watching this. Not only that, I totally respect her for finishing her law degree but following her dream of acting. I hope more people will take her lead and make acting a safer choice, especially for young women, and that we are all encouraged to be the healthiest version of ourselves.
I love the mentality of protecting young women. I fee like there was a generation with a mindset of "if I had to go through this, you have to aswell" and now women are protecting each other, standing up for each other. And I love that!
2 года назад+3
That was a good one… or it would have been, were this a laughing matter.
or maybe we just focus on being human. I mean people keep talking about no genders or gender fluidity, until of course you want to cry solidarity. Good ol chicks, post first wave feminism, always looking for the advantage. Bunch of hypocrites.
Ah the ingratitude of youth. There are legions of people in every generation who dedicate their lives to making things better for the next and future generations. They suffer emotionally, physically, professionally, and financially for their non-conformity and for advocating for the greater good. Seems like a clean conscience is their only reward. Well, you're welcome anyway.
I think there were a lot of women who were -- in those days -- just too ashamed to talk about it (also realizing they would be the ones blamed for the experience) and also believed that was just the way things were. Changing attitudes and "Me, too" is a part of women coming forward honestly and also protectively.
Rebel is one of my favourite actresses. I’ve also suffered from emotional eating. Growing up without my mum I found comfort in food. This went on for years and resulted in 30 kg weight gain. I started weights training and going to the gym as an outlet and became strong and sexy in my skin. I now help women process those emotions they’ve been eating and how to overcome them. If anyone reading that Is struggling, you’re not alone. You are worthy. You CAN DO THIS!
As someone who is currently on a weigh loss journey I totally can relate when she says she was invisible and now people are starting to see her and congratulate her like she wasn't already amazing. Our worth is based on our gravitational pull on Earth and it blows my mind.
I believe that there's something mentally wrong with females. People recognized her when she started her career as a overweight female and purposely signed up for these comedic roles as a overweight female actress. Now with in a year she have lost weight and she's going on these interviews for that "hey everyone, look at me" attention and to create a different type of relevancy as a "victim" seeking sympathy/empathy from society. But guess who's not talking about her weight at a large percentage? Men aren't!
Same here. Was very thin when I was young. Noone cated as to what I had to say for its value, they couldn't see beyond the body. I went invisible when the weight came on, and then peoele listened to what i said, but noone paid any attention beyond that. And now that the weight is coming off, I'm shocked at how the world treats me different . I'm starting to not be invisible. I'm still the same person inside. Only the outside changed.
I always enjoy interviews with genuinely funny people when they’re not trying to perform to a crowd. The sense of humour shines through, it’s a pleasure to listen to.
Sure, she will lose those "funny fat girl" roles, but she can close that chapter and start an entire new one. The possibilities are endless, dramatic roles, producer, director, and she's doing all of that. What an inspiration and an example to us all. Such a smart and always beautiful lady! That's what drew us to her all along.
So inspiring Rebel! I also have PCOS and it’s such a struggle! To lose 80 lbs with PCOS is quite an accomplishment for your health! Amazing! Rock on Rebel 👏👏👏
Love seeing an actress who thinks that higher education is important, despite acting! That's extremely refreshing. Realistically, not many actors make it to the big screen. Actors should advocate for pursuing a degree! As Ricky Gervais said, most of them indeed hardly graduated school! PS I loved you Rebel before loosing weight and I love you now! It's your personality and not at all the weight which matters to me. Happy for you looking after your health and actually admitting that overeating is not good for anyone.
What a woman! Intelligent, emotionally and intellectually. She also comes across as very grounded and strong minded. a very inspiring and respectful interview.
What hit me so hard was were the same age, and I'm on my weight loss journey right now, I've lost 46 lbs and counting. So, I was like if she can do it, I can too!! The hardesr part is staying w it, pretty much for LIFE!
Isn’t it sad that people think of overweight people are to be laughed at? I always thought if Rebel as being beautiful. The overweight was always emotional eating. I’m glad she has decided to deal with it as a matter of health rather than a “beauty industry” thing. The job of the beauty industry is to make you feel ugly. Keep up the good work Rebel. Good luck with the fertility treatments.
It is worth noting that she exploited the beauty side of her weight loss. If it helps get out a positive message, that's great, but she did pose for publicity photos designed to emphasize her weight loss and "beauty" aspect.
One of the main reason for why I think we obsess about her weight loss is because of how we ourselves wish we had that kind of strength. She looks so much happier and it must feel so different. Not feeling as heavy or sluggish. But she has always been a comedic, powerful, awesome woman.
Sugar is more addictive than cocaine apparently. Once you just decide to choose healthy stuff, your body won't create mad cravivings and addictive patterns.
To be fair, as a millionaire you have a much easier time achieving what she did. Can hire a cook, to ear delicious but super healthy stuff. Can afford the most expensive but healthy ingredients. Can afford and have the time to set up a customized work out and diet routine. The list goes on. The average person doesn’t have that privilege. Doesn’t take away from her accomplishment though, since she first had to earn her wealth first, while sacrificing her youth and fertility.
I could not agree more… I’m a very small girl however her drive and motivation has inspired me to get back into the gym it’s not about how big or small you it’s how healthy you can be….the fact that her determination is what we need to look at I’m inspired
When she said "I'm trying not to have expectations set on an outcome. I'm just the healthiest I can be and what will happen will happen" I felt this ❤ Yes we have opened up about mental health and the gates are opening for the discussions on fertility. Thank you for lending your voice Rebel, I admire your authenticity!
I give extra kudos for Rebel's ability to make all of these changes while having PCOS because it's very challenging to lose weight when you have that diagnosis. I used to counsel a handful of women who had this diagnosis & it was very difficult for them to lose weight & many of them also ended up with diabetes as well from it.
Yep, I can attest as someone with PCOS, the next level of difficulty is REAL. And everyone is an emotional eater and being around people who aren't eating like me, triggers me to want to eat their bad food. I like the fresh raw foods more tho, they taste so much better. Its just so easy, to eat bad food.
A wonderfully confident, quiet spoken and clear thinking person. a delight to listen to the interview. Hollywood will be so different going forward very soon with many being brought to justice for crimes again our little people. I sincerely hope Rebel will be a positive influence in the movie making industry. I wish her every success in her fertility quest to have a family of her own.
She is inspirational, smart, hard working, and hilarious! What a great interview. I'm glad to see she is putting herself and her health first. She's unstoppable! Lots of people will be inspired by her to do the same.
I love the fact that she saw a vision during a maleria dellusion and she went with it! I am glad because she is genuinely funny and making people laugh is so important. So many of us need humor nowadays.
What a great interview. Probably the best I've ever seen with Rebel. It felt incredibly authentic, she didn't put on her comedy persona as I've seen her do many times before (which is fun to watch, too).
And she didn’t come off as your typical ‘love your self’ actress like Jennifer Lawrence who I’d say is the most arrogant actress in Hollywood. She’s refreshing, intelligent and amazingly self-effacing …qualities sometimes hard to find in Hollywood
Hollywood did her dirty. I first saw her in Ghost Rider and immediately recognized her in Bridesmaids. She makes it seem easy but you can tell by the way she carries herself that she's unbelievably smart. She literally manifests her goals and achieves it.
I love her. She is so down to earth, she has such a lovely way of talking. I have a lot of admiration for her. There is nothing Rebel Wilson can't do. Having a law degree and being one of the best paid actresses in Hollywood. You rock Rebel. Please never change.
I never knew she is such a smart, thoughtful woman who has serious career interests. She is very different from those roles that she used to play, I hope she will get more serious roles, she is more than "lost weight" - project. Very admirable woman.
She is so inspiring and intelligent. And isn’t it sad that she brings about more headlines by the change in her physical appearance than for her career success. To be a woman sometimes. 😢
Total respect for this amazing young woman. I absolutely adore her, she is clever, funny and an ambassador for all the women in the world. Wishing her all the very best of life going forward. Best regards from South Africa 🇿🇦
She’s very smart and aware. I wish more celebrities would be this honest and raw. I like hearing her speak… I feel like this was almost a Ted talk.. She’s kind of inspiring! And funny! Wishing for her that ACADEMY AWARD 👏😘
Rebel Wilson is a global treasure and one of many female examples who are viewed only from the perspective of her physical being - fat, gorgeous, etc. Yet this interview unveils a complex and thoughtful being. I have to wonder - would it have been done had she not had her “year of health”? Would BBC have had the interview? Would viewers have taken the time to hear the intellect, the phenomenal being that exists within a larger body? Sadly, as a society we’ve been biased to determine the value of others initially through the visual.
Thank you, I was wondering the same thing, and honestly, it doesn't seem like anyone was interested in what she had to say or her intelect when she was still fat. It's basically saying that your only niche, when you're fat, is being funny. Think about it. The few fat actors and actresses you know are comedians. I am a fat girl, so no big discovery for me, but think of what it says to all of us out there : Your only worth is to make the rest of us laugh. We will accept you as an intelligent being, as an equal, only when you lose the weight. This is so heartbreaking.
The thing about being invisible when you are fat is so true. I lost weight like 10 years ago and I was shocked of how differently men treated me as a thin woman, suddenly I exist it.
I had gained and lost 60 ponds up and down and now back up (sigh)... and I will tell you that's not the men but our body language that makes them treat us differently...
I think that's what I resent- is not just men- it's everyone. Women too. I can't do much to change my weight due to health conditions- when eating like an athlete doesn't change it due to my conditions. I just have to live with it, but everyone treats you differently. I think a lot of it is subconscious and I want to not do that to others.
Humble and genuine?? Did we Watch the same interview? Don’t get me wrong she sure is an inspiration and I echo all the warm sentiments Of the below and above comments about her journey to where she is…. But humble is not a quality that shone through even a second of this interview. Not with standing all these positive comments, she didn’t let the interviewer finish a single question she barely even let her get to the question itself and as much as she absolutely deserves all the praise she’s getting here in his comments, but during the interview, the amount of times she made me cringe giving herself (accurate) praise. So… accomplished? Yes! Inspirational? Absolutely to some! … but humble?? Hardly! (Hope you don’t take this as a trolling rant, I genuinely do agree that she is magnificent, she could have just let the interviewer finish just one question. I cringed)
Losing weight is the hardest thing I ever had to do. I wish she didn't downplay it b/c I'm an ambitious woman who has a degree, published poetry, learned languages and yet, it was such an emotional readjustment and facing of myself to lose even a few pounds that I feel it's not about the size but SELF LOVE.
This is one of the best celebrity interviews I have watched. It’s evident that she is deep, intelligent, insightful, authentic and so relatable while being aspirational at the same time. Her external transformation is so inspiring. Her inner self is very grounded and a breath of fresh air. We need more of this!
I'd have to disagree with her saying peaking at 40 is rare. The thing is at 40+ you start letting go of all the opinions of others who want women to always desperately seek an ever-changing idea of perfection. You start appreciating your body and your own opinion over others.
Completely agree. I’ll be 48 in about 3.5 hrs and I’m in the best health and comfortable in my skin for the first time of my life and loving every minute of age I am. (The pandemic scared it into me) I hope by the time I’m 50 I can be in the best shape ever too! I hear 50 is the new 20! Just wiser and we take no shit😬
One of the things that happens when you take ownership of your health and get to the root of the reason why you developed bad, unhealthy habits, is it affects and reflects on every single aspect of your life. I believe a person thinks they look better than ever before (like Rebel said) because they feel better than ever before. She is on a journey of truly embracing what it means to love, like, and accept yourself; to feel grateful for who you are and not want to be someone else. It took me 33 years and I'm still working on it but it is liberating and fantastic to love yourself and even love and feel compassion for who you were before. One big discovery I've made in my life is that you don't learn to love yourself because you've lost weight, you start changing your health/weight BECAUSE you learn to love yourself. You even open the door also for other people to love you as you are because you give yourself total permission to be you. Because you like yourself. I'd even add that it's almost impossible to not want to share that with people because you see them hurting for not having figured out what you have.
I'm so proud of the BBC, this was a great Interview and I love how they handled the questions about Rebels weight loss. When asked of she could read a headline, I straight away said 'here we go' thinking it would be a nasty in tone, but instead it was a wonderful headline! Great way to uplift someone! Great job!
This interview is fantastic! I wasn't aware of Rebel's background and her mentality about life, health, etc. I can't wait to see more of her and her work directing! She is a lady and a scholar. :)
Huh?? It took so many times reading to grasp what you meant. 😆 I thought, "nobody tries to make it with sexual harrassment. Nobody requires a role model for expecting safety." I guess you meant 'protector', not 'role model'.
I am 31, married, 2 young kids and I am searching RUclips, trying to find motivation. To see her really just achieve all of this and 40 it helped me realize that I have some time and I can still do this.
Ah yes, the invisible woman. I was her. Lost 60 lbs. It was shocking how people at work who used to look right through me everyday now felt the need to comment. One coworker actually CRIED. Honestly, it was an amazing feeling, like a rock star. It's sad how fake people can be.
I beg to ask where's the fakeness? They ignored you when you were fat & congratulated you when you lost 60 pounds. It is a sizeable change & accomplishment on your part. The crying is a bit much but other than that, it would've been fake if they would've continued ignoring you when you lost that good amount of weight. Now is it shallow af, yes it is. But that the world we live in. Sometimes you get good people that don't give a sh*t either way.
@@roxxylala26 At best, it’s shallow. On the inside, they’re the same person both pre and post weight loss. What kind of person chooses who to interact with (and to ignore) based on size alone, especially a coworker??
I love her! This was a great interview. Also fully agree with everything she said about weight loss. People treat you so differently when you're skinny/normal vs overweight. It's a shame, because it really confirms the fear that a lot of people have that if they don't look a certain way, they're not as "important". When I was at my skinniest, people were so kind to me. I got better customer service in stores for example. I don't judge people by their looks, and I think my experience gives me a great perspective and extra motivation to try to be kind to everyone I meet no matter who they are.
I've always had mad respect for Rebel. I'm happy for her quest for health and hope she's healthy no matter what size she is. I've lost a substantial amount of weight in the past and it was very bittersweet. To realize that in our society, the degree of how differently we veiw people as more worthwhile if they are pleasing to look at is bizarre. Experiencing it firsthand is an eye opener and can really mess with a persona's psyche.
She is such an inteligent woman and funny. I really loved that her messsge about the body transformation is just about health and not image. Thats the message that needs to be spread
If I heard her correctly, she's 40 or 40+ and I would have NEVER. Ever. Never. Guessed. She's aging beautifully in every way 💐 & Prayers of blessings on her fertility journey. I wish everyone could afford the cost of egg freezing, surrogacy & other alternative avenues to motherhood. It's an extremely costly journey that is out of reach for a lot of women battling infertility - I have endometriosis so I can relate to those with PCOS in many ways. I wish lots of beautiful abundance for Rebel & anyone else pursuing their dream of motherhood 💜
Rebel is such a great inspiration on so many levels, from loving yourself for exactly who you are, to working hard to finish law school even though she had an acting career, to being confident in her dreams and abilities even when others weren't. I'm so happy for all of her successes.
I really love Rebel's interviews like this, her intelligence shines through and she's such a protective big sister type, I really hope life gives everything that's lovely to her, she's my hero and my inspiration XXX The interviewer is also very classy, i LOVE how she asks Rebel, tell me about your sexual harassment experience, if you want to, that's the respect and class every reporter should have!
I love Rebel's thoughtfulness. I understand her well. I'm 54, and last year, I lost 88 lbs, with good, old fashioned diet and exercise. I was working in Healthcare, and, during COVID, I wanted to get healthy. I joined WW, online, and, joined a gym. I'm in the best shape of my adult life. I've also changed my life in other ways. Left the day job, and I'm working 100% on my writing, poetry, playwriting, and screenwriting. I do think the confidence I found after learning to deal with my emotional eating, and getting healthy, has helped me decide to follow my writing dreams. I understand, of course, that the world treats you differently when you lose a large amount of weight. And, often, that is the ONLY thing we, as women, are judged by.
A good attorney, too. She made an awesome defense to make the rating of a film she produced and got the to change their minds, which they almost never do. She’s amazing.
So inspirational. It just goes to show - once again - that you don't need to be in your 20's to be the best version of yourself and living your best life. I wish nothing but the very best to Rebel.
I've always loved her and thought she was hilarious and did not care about her weight. I'm familiar with the "internal" struggle. She's an absolute stunner now. Wow!
That last part though❤-that she wants to protect young actors, such a good heart:-)) way to go Rebel for your award goal... Your intelligence and self-confidence makes you more beautiful!
I love Rebel's rebel spirit. She truly knows who she is and owns it and does her own thing. Her self-leadership and honesty is off the charts and so refreshing!! I think she's beautiful inside and out.
I’ve always loved Rebel in any shape or form. She’s always taught what is confidence and what it means to be vulnerable because being a woman is difficult. Love you girl!
I'm so proud of her taking care of herself emotionally and then physically and being real about her struggles that we can all relate to on some level!!
She's an incredible talent. Love that she has her law degree. I'm an academic and cool to see the multidimensional talents Rebel has. Awesome person!!!

It's so true!! Two degrees mean nothing for a woman, but a nice picture with nice clothes and hair?? ATTENTION GALORE!!
It is very true and very depressing!
It only matters when we seek validation for our own achievements from others
It is very empowering & important, to always take time to say to yourself:
WELL DONE ME! 😺
@@MsElke11 exactly, I did not know until right now watching this video that Rebel had any degrees! I've seen so many articles about her weight, what she's wearing etc, but I have never seen the media respect or champion her for being so intelligent, or having a law degree.
So very well said. And its just sad. Question is can we change that, or we just let it be
Rebel is clearly amazing in this but can we take a moment to also appreciate the interviewer.
It was an outstanding interview. Thanks for bringing to our attention.
The world really needs it.
very true - I thought the same, very thoughtful interviewer.
It's so interesting to see Rebel as herself and not as a loud, comedic character. She's soft spoken, deliberate, and smart. She really is glowing. Hope to see her get her academy someday.
Yesss!! She is so inspirational accomplishing what she has recently, and in the past as well. !!
So true !
She fooled you.
TOULA….
She’s more than just her “weight loss” she’s a woman full of substance. She’s an inspiration. I admire her even more. ♥️♥️♥️
I appreciate how she states that it's important to get to the state of health where you feel comfortable with yourself.
I never knew her backstory. She's phenomenal.
THANK YOU!!! How many questions about weight loss do you have? She is more than her size. GEEZ!
@burteriksson Meow!
Good on ya. Well done
Incredible!!!
I'm turning 47 in July and I've started the process of turning my life around too. I've been saying I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Thank you for this motivation!

I'm an even bigger fan of Rebel's after this interview! She's such a genuine, intelligent, thoughtful woman; I truly admire her.
And obviously spiritually awakened. She literally saw her future as an actress! :)

@@gabyalmanza4662 "take care and go to therapy" 😂😂 the best line I've read in response to a comment like this in a while! Made me laugh 😊
You said it perfectly!
People tend to forget, that she is a lawyer - she even won a case for one of her films. Really intelligent woman and I'm glad she decided to look after her health.
@edit due to the butthurt in the comments for usage of word "tend to" - check interviews with her, all acting surprised on her education (even lady from the BBC) - what happened to the reliable journalism and checking facts about interviewed person).
she won a case for defamation of character regarding her real name, i don't think she represented herself
Fortunately Rebel realized that she isn't one of the lowest forms of life (Banker, Politician, Lawyer) and is sticking with entertainer.
@@JJSPARROW1978 Could you elaborate on that
@@FC-eh7ll Sure. Rebel provides a service for entertainment, which in her specific area is humour.
Feeds the soul, makes people laugh be happy.
A Lawyer doesn't give a fudge about making people laugh, be happy. Just there to trick people, twist words and generally act, as I said like lower forms of life.
but i didn't forget.. lol... i just didn't know.
I managed to lose 112 pounds this past year, and she was one of the celebrities I actually took as an example for doing my own "health year". The best thing that you can do for yourself is to try and be as healthy as you can possibly be, life changes in many ways.
Good job on your journey to a healthier you 💪🏻👏🏻

Well done you! I love that health is the focus and not weight.
💜💜💜 so amazing. I'm so happy you're doing it for you and not for society.
I absolutely agree with you
I agree but for most it's very difficult and time goes by so fast.
Didn't she get a very brutal surgery, tho? And probably much more to get rid of the skin?
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 of course she did. Many average ppl can't afford that
I love the mentality of protecting young women. I fee like there was a generation with a mindset of "if I had to go through this, you have to aswell" and now women are protecting each other, standing up for each other. And I love that!
Hello 👋
I think there were a lot of women who were -- in those days -- just too ashamed to talk about it (also realizing they would be the ones blamed for the experience) and also believed that was just the way things were. Changing attitudes and "Me, too" is a part of women coming forward honestly and also protectively.
Her mum was one of my primary school teachers!! One of the most sweetest ladies ever, and I remember Rebel visiting us at school once 🙂
Well done interview. Rebel is intelligent, talented and wise. She will continue to succeed in her life.
You do know she is a lawyer right?
Beautiful soul
FAR from it!!
Yass, wat to go. More power to you💪🏾
@@lalasng8643 thank you so much
Good for you, you must be proud.
As someone who is currently on a weigh loss journey I totally can relate when she says she was invisible and now people are starting to see her and congratulate her like she wasn't already amazing. Our worth is based on our gravitational pull on Earth and it blows my mind.
That would make me upset, because women "only" have value if they look a certain way.
Men aren't!
I looooved the way you described weight: “gravitational pull on Earth!!!”
She is amazing. Very soft spoken, but you can see the strengh.
She's a pretty badass women!
"I am a lawyer" ....very direct way of showing strength. She got that degree so she deserves to call herself a lawyer.
I always enjoy interviews with genuinely funny people when they’re not trying to perform to a crowd. The sense of humour shines through, it’s a pleasure to listen to.
Yes!!, agreed!! 👏👏😼
And also romantic interest leads
@@tvs9978 yes I can definitely see her having more of those roles, although she kind of had a romantic part in the Pitch Perfect 2 movie!

Great job! 👍🏼
I love how she addresses the health and emotional eating and also values herself in all stages. That’s sooo cool. 🙌🏼 amazing!
Not gonna lie, its because they are cute visually, like pandas
Not gonna lie, I don't even like round chicks but I found her extremely delicious. Even now she is attractive, she just seems more serious now.
It is worth noting that she exploited the beauty side of her weight loss. If it helps get out a positive message, that's great, but she did pose for publicity photos designed to emphasize her weight loss and "beauty" aspect.
@@zweigackroyd7301 so what...
@@zweigackroyd7301 yeah maybe wanted to get treated more seriously she also wants to have kids so yeah
God is so good to hear a woman like that tell her story!
She is an example 🌟
One of the main reason for why I think we obsess about her weight loss is because of how we ourselves wish we had that kind of strength. She looks so much happier and it must feel so different. Not feeling as heavy or sluggish. But she has always been a comedic, powerful, awesome woman.
That fits perfectly and describes exactly what we feel ☺️
Oh yeah, it takes so much strength not to eat that 8th chocolate biscuit
PCOS and diabetes are both the result of hyperinsulinaemia and insulin resistance.
She is owning her power, well done Rebel.

A wonderfully confident, quiet spoken and clear thinking person. a delight to listen to the interview. Hollywood will be so different going forward very soon with many being brought to justice for crimes again our little people. Hello 🩸
@Kml Art I know right?! SO cool!!
I absolutely agree with you
What a great interview.

Rebels "year of health" is so inspiring. Body positivity all the way but be Honest about one's own health. She's all round inspiring

She is so inspiring and intelligent. And isn’t it sad that she brings about more headlines by the change in her physical appearance than for her career success. To be a woman sometimes. 😢

the interviewer's questions are so well thought and reverent. love the depth of this interview
Same! I lost two stone recently and I get treated completely differently now 🤨
I had gained and lost 60 ponds up and down and now back up (sigh)... and I will tell you that's not the men but our body language that makes them treat us differently...
Having been both slim and overweight i can totally identify with this - and it’s not just men, it’s everyone. So superficial and sad, but it’s true.
@@ElibelDublin exactly- it is everyone. Women included.
Rebel Wilson is so intelligent and complete as a person. Cheers to much more success
I love her so much. Sooo humble and genuine. Her energy is sooo contagious!
I cringed)
Zero likes for your comment. Looks like nobody shares your opinion.
Rebel has such a calming voice, can hear her talk all day.
I agree. Our misogynist society likes to tell women that they peak in their 20s, but I've seen that proven to be a lie countless times.
I'm in my early 30s and fighting for this 🙏🙏
Completely agree.
@Sandi Stava..... She said 30 and was talking about acting.
But she is specifically talking about an industry where your appearance is completely central to your success
Rebel Wilson is one of my favorite actors and glad to hear her talk about her career & life experiences. May she continue to succeed in life.
No doubt about it. She's awesome, and has always been gorgeous.
What a great attitude she has.A real role model for young girls trying to make it in Hollywood without sexual harassment.
What
She's Gay.........................
That’s what I’m doing looking for motivation
She's so intelligent, so articulate, so charming, and so elegant, just a terrific woman, I hope young girls really listen to her.
Rebel's accomplishments are incredible! She is such an amazing, disciplined person! So very happy for her that she is healthy. 😊
Ah yes, the invisible woman. I was her. Lost 60 lbs. It was shocking how people at work who used to look right through me everyday now felt the need to comment. One coworker actually CRIED. Honestly, it was an amazing feeling, like a rock star. It's sad how fake people can be.
Someone cried 😳
Happy or sad tears??
I beg to ask where's the fakeness? They ignored you when you were fat & congratulated you when you lost 60 pounds. It is a sizeable change & accomplishment on your part. The crying is a bit much but other than that, it would've been fake if they would've continued ignoring you when you lost that good amount of weight. Now is it shallow af, yes it is. But that the world we live in. Sometimes you get good people that don't give a sh*t either way.
Ah yes, I’m invisible too. Their loss.
@@roxxylala26 At best, it’s shallow. On the inside, they’re the same person both pre and post weight loss. What kind of person chooses who to interact with (and to ignore) based on size alone, especially a coworker??
I'm a man and 105 pounds down on my weight loss. This is really inspiring to me. She's great.
Congratulations. Keep it up. Happy holidays. ❤
I’m so impressed that she got into and made it through law school, plus the work she did overseas 🤩
Hello 👋🩸🩸
She is such an inteligent woman and funny. I really loved that her messsge about the body transformation is just about health and not image. Thats the message that needs to be spread
If I heard her correctly, she's 40 or 40+ and I would have NEVER. Ever. Never. Guessed. She's aging beautifully in every way 💐
& Prayers of blessings on her fertility journey.
I usually find it incredibly painful watching interviews but this is so authentic and natural to watch. I love it. xo
I really love Rebel's interviews like this, her intelligence shines through and she's such a protective big sister type, I really hope life gives everything that's lovely to her, she's my hero and my inspiration XXX
The interviewer is also very classy, i LOVE how she asks Rebel, tell me about your sexual harassment experience, if you want to, that's the respect and class every reporter should have!
She is a lawyer she fought for the PG rating for her movie Hustle in court and won. it is well documented. the interviewer should do her home work
I felt that scene was scripted. Why would she have the photos right beside her as evidence.
That's awesome but the movie wasn't worth it. It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life
There is something really rather wonderful about people who truly know who they are & are confident in that. Rebel embodies that.
Ruth I assume she wouldn't cheat that shows in demure of a woman. She seems blocked.a little guarded however friendly.
Yes Adele has it too
I love Rebel's thoughtfulness.
What an interview
Love how she was so honest about her experiences in the movie world!
Wow!
Hello 👋
I am totally in awe of Rebel's career in Hollywood. She must be so driven and clever to have done what she's done.
That last part though❤-that she wants to protect young actors, such a good heart:-))
way to go Rebel for your award goal...
Your intelligence and self-confidence makes you more beautiful!
She's effortlessly funny! Love her Australian comedy sensibility and everything about her. She really stands out in the movies she's in.
What a open, courageous, forward thinking intelligent woman... so nice to see this side of her since I have only otherwise seen her comedy roles.
I love Rebel's rebel spirit. She truly knows who she is and owns it and does her own thing. Her self-leadership and honesty is off the charts and so refreshing!! I think she's beautiful inside and out.
Hello 👋
I’ve always loved Rebel in any shape or form. She’s always taught what is confidence and what it means to be vulnerable because being a woman is difficult. Love you girl!
I always liked her. She’s so intelligent, grounded, so positive about life and hardworking.
I'm so proud of her taking care of herself emotionally and then physically and being real about her struggles that we can all relate to on some level!!
She is so amazing. I could listen to her all day, smart intellectual and funny.
She's an incredible talent. Love that she has her law degree. I'm an academic and cool to see the multidimensional talents Rebel has. Awesome person!!!
Wow… she’s so confident, inspirational, eloquent, and my hero 🙌🏽
