it's in san diego. practically born and lived there all my life. parts of the music video were shot on the freeway ("beaches" ramp sign to sea world california ), other shots were probably done at solana beach, la jolla cove, pacific beach, and perhaps mission beach or ocean beach or fiesta island with those bonfire pits (before those bonfire pits were lifted away). goddamn, san diego is beautiful.
no, we didn't use any filters. the color comes from a mixture of how it was shot - lens choice, time of day, etc... and color correction. the grain, light bleeds, and "film fuck ups" were edited and layered in the edit.
@morrissey07 Yeah, they're riding the wavve (pun intended, not a misspelling) of the popularity of the '60's surf-pop sound. Yet, everyone is doing it in their own way, and that is why I'm a fan of everyone that is doing it. I really like that this track. Though, I'm a music fan, not a critic...
Has anyone got an idea of how to get this vintage effect in a video ? Are there any programs or plugins with which you can achieve that sort of effect ? Thx ! btw great vid & nice song !
fantastic video, sayczars. love the whole stabbing scene and end. why are people even complaining? it's a lovely video that leaves you with a great feeling! i love that it seems all happy and sunny and uh huh and suddenly, BAM, blood and "fuck off"!
@CustomCrestline I disagree. Everyone is riding the wave of Mumford / Fleet Faux banjo folk. Who else sounds like Crocodiles? Wavves are simply friends/label mates of Crocodiles.
To all the haters who keep mentioning "rip off" and j&mc (nothing against them) but this song is great for sounding original. It doesn't have to sound like anything. And if it does, it's closer to The Beach Boys and Ritchie Valens than j&mc.
well it seems like that exact beach is very popular for music videos :P if you dont know what im talking about, just compare the beach to the one in the Blink 182 music video for All the Small Things, and if you have shit taste in music (though i doubt it since you're watching this video) just watch the one direction (ewww) video for what makes you beautiful. it uses the same beach
I feel like this video has some hidden meaning I should understand... or maybe I'm dumb and I don't get it. Anyways I really love the video and song and this band.
@kingalow1 Presumably you would be happy if the Jesus and Mary Chain actually released a new album, but it's not okay for someone else to sound like them?
Great sound ! If you like Indie music and find underground artist, I suggest you to discover a new one by writing *"Niko Laetailleurs"* in the you tube search bar. Hoping you'll find some good vibrations...
Who fucking cares if the band sound like JAMC? Looking at these comments is like waking up to find the the concept of INFLUENCE never existed. I mean its not like a band has ever consciously attempted to reference their heroes in their sound before...
pretty obvious that there's a huge j+mc influence here (the same can be said about a lot of contemporary bands) but it's a little much to call it a complete rip-off also this album is much better than the last one
wow, I wanted to like this but I can't. I don't remember San Diego that way and street punks on the beach with bikini babes with a downtown Chicago sound, incoherent
@kingalow1 fact is they are not JAMC and you should maybe be more open minded to newer bands that are out. You can be considerate to their fans anyways. ALSO I might add where the hell is your music. When you can create something this fucking awesome or better I would just keep your itchy keyboad fingers doing something constructive like taking up knitting!!!
@sayczars it's just a lightweight American take on the Chain - carefully crafted sound and exact same type of JAMC video. Getting to be very trite these days. that's what bugs me. The Chain were punks. All these current black leather /sunglasses bands are just 20-something hipster wannabes with no identity of their own. And their songs are poorly written and poorly played.
this was my favorite song when i was 17 and it still gives me the same feeling
I love this song and video so much, I can't even explain it. Sort of like the first time I heard The Jesus and Mary Chain... Just incredible!!!!
Never gets old
This.....might just be the best song....matched with the best video...ever....no hyperbole!
Oops, I should have murdered the replay button... Can't wait to see you guys coming back 'round Paris !
💙💙Hearts of love💙💙🥰🥰🥰
I love this band and it's all the more sweeter and great they make so many people mad.

I just found them today, an I already love them!!

What an excellent song and video.
This is SPECTACULAR
The movie 'Us' always reminds me of this video
I just love it, that everybody here knows what JAMC means.
MERVEILLEUX GROUPE.
the band component was shot in san diego. the cult component was shot at matador (day shots) and dockweiler beach (night shots).
Gran rolita.
@Sim1Thresh lets get this guy a medal. well put.
OSOM VIDEO
@kingalow1
You are crazy! This rocks!
@morrissey07

@kingalow1 That's a great point... Have you been lobotomized? You should call your mother I'm sure she'd love to hear what you think.
How do you get that colors ? Do you use a filter or something ?
where was this shot at?
Venice Beach??
To all the haters who keep mentioning "rip off" and j&mc (nothing against them) but this song is great for sounding original. It doesn't have to sound like anything. And if it does, it's closer to The Beach Boys and Ritchie Valens than j&mc.
cool vid, man!
wow is that the Porsche from Risky Business? nice.
@davidurbanic thanks. the ending is key.
Yeah, a few of the scenes I recognize from Ocean Beach.
Pretty fuckin' rad seeing a band I like shoot in my neighborhood!
I love the ending LOL edit: nvm I like the whole video
@lucadepu that is a super good point. where are you?
Anybody know the name of the car featured in this music video?

@sayczars

@ara1970
*sigh* you really must stop reading pitchfucked and listen to this song again becuase it's proper amazing.
@kingalow1 Presumably you would be happy if the Jesus and Mary Chain actually released a new album, but it's not okay for someone else to sound like them?
well meaning my band is trying to make a music video at the same beach

i mean a major influence*
oarsum really want a porsche 944 now
@dreamlife2046 know what guy?
what do you mean?
Great sound ! If you like Indie music and find underground artist, I suggest you to discover a new one by writing *"Niko Laetailleurs"* in the you tube search bar. Hoping you'll find some good vibrations...
no offence mate i see you put this comment in alot of videos but your bands pretty bad.
Well, it's better than the Mumford & Sons style dullness but that's not really much of a compliment.
that stabbing scene is smoking hot
@WimmelJimmel Remember that everyone has Google
@Jessopia eh
you like these guys? Do yourself a favor and check out "The growlers" do it. now.

Cliché
More JAMC rip-offs blah blah blah boring. wouldn't have made one of their 3 or 4 b-side comps
putrid hipster drivel
