Raider has joined the "No Fun Allowed" Tier with Shugoki. Playing Raider may be fun, fighting Raider is pure agony.

I also noticed that, compared to most other champions, his zone attacks are great for minion clearing. Compared to others, Raider's zone has a big range and costs less stamina, especially with the stamina reduction feat.

I mean... if you use Zhanhu you can dodge attack his first heavy and cancel the recovery into a deflect of the second HA one so, at least on that front Zhanhu and (i guess) orochi are covered.

I would like to mention, I use stalwart banner, because you can out heal the damage on a fire flask and I was once being 2v1ed by a raider/kyoshin combo and got fire flasked in a corner and used the banner to not only out heal the fire damage but allow me to Hyper armour through both of their attacks without revenge and light heavy zone them to clutch a win on both teams breaking.
So although the fire flask is easily a strong choice, the banner has saved me on multiple occasions
Fun fact. Marked For Death and Fury stack. Just in case you wanted to turn 1 opponent in particular into a bloody smear
Raider is still by far the most funny hero to play.
Raider was my first hero, really destroyed with him but thought he was plain so I dropped him. Think I'll pick him back up.
You forgot the best thing about the Raider: he actually runs a very affordable kebab shop, and if a zone connects you can get a CRRRRRRRRRREAMY FREE PITA
Another raider tip a friend of mine introduced me to is to do zone on heavy parry, you can't dodge it, and dodge attacks also get gbd. So you're forced into a mix up.
He went from mid tier on console and low tier on PC to dethroning BP as top character with orochi. Seriously ubi why can't you balence without making everyone else worthless

@@negativeorangutan546 Warlord and shugo was best pick in Dominion, best duel hero was between conq, shugo and hito before the raider rework and before option select removal.
I recently came back to the game after more than 2 years and figured out Lawbringer was out and Raider was in. I´m having a blast playng Raider and Shugoki (alwais loved the big boys in this game) and this videos really help me out figure out how the game is right now. Thanx

Funny enough, I have a lot of trouble playing Raider. I find it a very difficult character to play. I normally play Shugoki and Hitokiri so the speed at which you have to feint and storm tap/guard break cancel your heavies is quite a learning curve for me.
I feel that, None of the character I use have soft faints

@only right opinion well no shit its a skill issue. The only way to improve your skill with a character is to practice them, I don't play Raider so I don't practice, therefore I am not that great with the character.

Additionally you can also zone on a heavy parry, it's not guaranteed. But you put your opponent in a mix up of either eating 24 damage, a storm tap, or a gb

Best way to improve your parry performance is by studying the animation differences between lights and heavies. Each hero has subtle animation differences that can greatly prevent you from getting GB’d from a feint. I’ve known some players who can hold their own fighting without a hud solely from animations.
Ex: Raider’s lights are thrown close to his body with minimal windup while his heavies are always drawn behind him in a super telegraphed way. His lights mimic the motion of chopping wood while his heavies have the exaggerated windup of a dark souls’ boss
TLDR: if the raider threw an attack without pulling his axe back, it’s a light
While each heros’ light and heavy animations will differ from readability there is always slight animation variations that become obvious once the pattern is recognized. Spend some time watching the movement of your attacks and the enemies. Fight with your mind, not with your heart

Agreed relatively easy to pick up and do well. Any attack combo is very nice. Means I can literally click whatever attack I want and it’ll probably work.

If you having trouble with raiders just play conqueror he a HEAVY counter to his whole play style with the regular all guard and zone
And bash.
Feint and parry or feint and dodge boom you've just shut down all of Conq's options.
Conq is a hard counter to quite a few heroes but those counters still require a read on the part of the Conq player

@@gilgameszh mmmmm. not sure, the raider has many counters to attempts to counter. You can punish but well, very few opportunities with that addition of a light after a heavy.
@@warprifter8772 yeah but raider actually follows a lot of rules he just has a lot of soft feints. Orochi has the most options after a whiffed bash in the entire game. People say it's punishable but I'm not really punishing the kick just what comes after the kick. Most characters have one or two options but he has like his whole moveset.
I just hope his chain zone damage is lowered personally. Maybe slightly nudge the stamina up for zones. Idk.
He’s not overpowered just overtuned. His stamina loss is legit nonexistent, his damage is WAY to high.
Watching this video on furthers my will to not load up for honour, might as well add back old gear system so raiders can just max out their damage and revenged gain so they can kill me in one hit

I honestly wish Warden had something more than "Light, Light, Heavy, Shoulder", there's not much more you can do tbh... I mean, he is pretty powerful, but he is easily readable.
Compared to kensei and raider the heavy soft faints gods, he sure feels weak sometimes
I would have thought that in a sequel he could have more moves dedicated to historical European fencing where he'd actually wrestle and grapple the opponent, or use his sword and hold it in different ways to have special unblockables or enhanced attacks.
I don't think that'll happen in this games lifespan, but I hope his stamina improves and if he got CCs on all sides that be awesome

I play him like a bull, and murder pikemen with the attack boost.
i block a little but usually i keep distance (especially with nobushi) and counter attack. I keep some social distancing and when they move in for a swing i dont typically block i will dodge to the side so that their shoulder/back area is facing me, mix up some lights heavy, possibly an unblockable. and once i have done a decent chunk of damage i dont get too cocky and i create distance again Then repeat till dead 💪🏻 felt it was a little too basic so this vid helped alot
But this method usually works fine and i can average 13-15 kills with 5 deaths tops. however i thought id switch it up cos the real high levels learn what im doing pretty quick

See I’m a raider main, and what I do is strike, scream and run. Strike for execution, scream for yelling while executing, and run after finishing executing the victim and find another.
