Dungeons and Drama | A Live Action D&D Show

- Back in April of this year I had the amazing opportunity to write and direct a student show at my University. This is an improv Dungeons and Dragon show with a live audience helping us create a unique story.
About 30 minutes before the audience sat down I quickly set up to iphones to record the show. Heres how that turned out, and I hope you enjoy.

the ranger taking a coin from behind the druid's ear then one of the NPC's just screaming "WITCH!" over and over really got me

The interactions between Gaston and Bucket are pure gold, I love their energy

That birthday surprise on the second act was so sweet! I can't imagine a better way of making a senior's last play even more memorable.
This reminds me of fred 3 where they were like "we're the best... At being the worst!" and I think that encapsulates The Worst as a character lol

Shout out to the Ozempic guy, I was rooting for him the whole time 😂 I am so so glad I stumbled on this because oh my god this is amazing!! The actors were hilarious, the sets were so cool (I LOVED the projections), the story was great… the whole thing was just amazing. The plot twists had me doubled over laughing the whole time, I’m so happy for Bucket and the clown. Happy birthday Kayla (I think that was her name it was hard to hear over the cheering lol), and good job, everyone who made this. Also the musical numbers were incredible, especially that last one! Thank you for posting this!

Amazing job from all of the people working this! I had a blast watching them working with the audience and the antics that were thrown at them. Its a shame that there is nothing like this close to me, but I shall be keeping an eye out for more improv shows like this.

this was brilliant. watched it whilst making a zine and i ended up focusing too much on the show to finish lol, so glad i got this recomended ! definitely makes me want to pursue theatre further as i start college this fall, thanks for the inspiration yall !

Where did this go down and when will the next D&D show be?
The show took place at Plymouth State University in the Spring of 2024. It was a collaborative production between the Plymouth Players Improv Theatre Troop and The Technical Theatre Experience club.
I was the President of Plymouth Players at the time and played the role of "The Worst"
Looke, "The DM", wrote the outline for the show, but there was no traditional script to follow. Just an outline of locations

This is so dope, only downside I'd say is not having the cast mic'ed up so that their audio is clear, otherwise super sick!

I really wanted to enjoy this, but the audio makes it really difficult to follow. There is something really special here with strong potential, but it needs better audio production. And a camera that records higher than 480p.
