My fave part was when you fell off laughing! Hahaha, but for real I am very excited about this new Mustang! Looking super forward to seeing how you approach training her/what her personality will be like! She was definitely also my favourite of the lots you showed. :)
Now that was one of my fave video's you have ever posted. The chemistry and trust between you two... amazing. Proof of what can happen to these wild creatures. Thank you, thank you, than you for spending the time and effort to film and post.
Great video, but by favorite part was the bloopers, lol! Thanks for taking time to answer all those questions and I can’t wait to see your videos with the new mustang🤗 Hope your week is going well 😉😊❤️
Awww this is such a great acc and I wish I could do what you do but I’m too young Edit: live the fall at the end. But I would’ve fallen off when getting ON
Lmao that fall at the end was gold! I love how you just love him even though he's being a bit of a dork! I have a LO mustang mare who is also 5 and man is she the best! Such a great mind and thinks through everything! She had a rough start at the TIP trainer but she bonded with me very quickly and I kept urging the trainer not to give up on her and at least get her to the point where I could lead her onto a trailer, everything else was something I could work on. We ended up taking her home and I love her to death. I wouldn't trust any other horse more than her and I've only had her for 6 months and riding her for 3 months. It's amazing the things they do for us! I'm hooked on mustangs now! Hopefully in the future after some healing I'll be able to compete at an EMM!
I learnt a lot more about the mustang makeover from this video, thank you!! And I was laughing the entire time at the bloopers- the fall at the end was so funny 😂 I love your videos so much!
I'm a 70yo upper level dressage rider. I love the mare you picked out. She looks sweet and looks like she has a lot of potential. I saw the black mare, on your video, that went for a high price and had the same thought that she would be a lovely dressage horse. I really, really enjoy watching your videos. Your a wonderful, kind and knowledgeable horse woman and the horse world needs a lot of people with your talent!!! I'll be looking forward to watching your new mare's progress!!
Thanks for answering my question about that black mare!! I SO agree w you she just looked tense! And your mare's energy is MUCH lower, but to me that is a good thing! Prolly why she's a lil tubby too-- not bothered by much means she spends more time eating/digesting. Ha!
Thank you very much! I don't know where I got the idea it was only 90 days that Mustang Makeover gave to train, so thank you! So fun to see you in non-training mode. Have a great day! Laural
I guess I shouldn't of said they're ALL 120 days... but all of the 'Extreme Mustang Makeovers' are, give or take a day or two. However, TIP challenges, which only require the horse to be shown in-hand, are sometimes only 90 days!
@@SamVanFleet Thank you again! I'm learning so much and enjoying it. I continue with Horsemanship classes in September but it will be one on one instead of a group which finished this past Monday. Laural
Sorry to say, you were awesome, but Lynx stole the show! What a sweet boy! Great video...thanks for all the info...cant wait to see new horse begin her journey. You will be amazing yet again...yay!
Thanks for answering the questions, some of the same ones I had wondered about too. This video is awesome lol. I was also wondering if you train mustangs for private clients?
Can’t tell you and lynx have a real connection. I hope my mare and I will once she arrives. I can’t wait 😊 Thank you for sharing. Stay safe everyone. God Bless
To add on I’ve been looking for a way to get an untrained horse to train and I’ve gone to countless rescues and done so much late night research and I really fell in love with the program and I think I’ve watched all the Mustang Makeovers on RUclips in the span of 2 days
If I dare ask what was the bad experience you had from a mustang outside the regions that you prefer them being from. ? I think you are amazing 😉. Can’t wait to meet your new pick!!! Such the calm attitude!!
Thank you for this information, frankly I am not good at the English language well but I try hard to understand you, your followers from Morocco, welcome to Morocco
Jeannie I too would love to see what she has to say about it. I follow Clinton Anderson and my horses are trained with his method. I’m not as rough as he is though.
I found you today from your first Players choice video and I'm super excited to see how this all unfolds. Come competition time will you update on the of interest horses in your videos such as the 6200 one or the sorrel with the odd neck (if he competes that is.)
Shyla Good I don’t believe that chestnut is in the makeover, but if I see any updates on that big brown mare then maybe, but I would ask the trainer’s permission first
Thank you so much for this video! It must have taken you forever to do the editing. 😃. But it was worth whatever it took to get such a good video. The q & a was absolutely informative. I have just gotten interested in mustang makeovers and had (have) many questions still. Most of all, could you please define "tip" and "tipped out." I am not sure those terms are clear to me. (And...just as I was amazed at no "uhs," "ums," or "ahs,"... Wait for it... Yes, ONE. Almost instantly... Great job totally!!! 😁👍💓❣
I had plenty of "uhs" and "ums"... that's the power of editing LOL. I don't even mean to say them but they come out! Thank you so much though! TIP stands for trainer incentive program, and when I say "Tipped out" it means that I got the required training on a mustang (the TIP requirements, there's a handful of things the mustang needs to do in the program) and then adopted them out
I wasn't surprised you didn't answer my question because it wasn't a good one😂 When I saw your post for us to ask questions I freaked out and hurried up so I didnt have time to think But I love your channel and you are so beautiful and your horse is adorable❤❤❤❤
Danielle Baker There were only a few over 15hh. Most mustangs are between 13.2-15.2hh (generally). Most aren’t very tall. My personally mustang, Lynx, is 14.1ish, and he’s just the perfect size! Lately a lot of people have been looking for shorter mustangs too. I’m also only 5’3”-5’4” so I don’t need a super tall one :)
I got lucky then. 5 year old Salt wells gelding, 15.3hh, 4 year old Divide Basin gelding 15.2hh, 3 year old Adobe town gelding 14.3hh and green mountain yearling 14hh already. I just got blessed I guess
I'll be posting more info on all of that when it gets closer. Usually, the only thing you have to pay for is the Top 10 performance. Most of the other classes/events are free to watch!
Hi, do you train others for type of horses? I have a mare /filly that would be needing training in a year or two Andalucian. She is only 14 months. Thanks
Hi I have a question when are you putting your mustang for auction and how much are you putting for auction because if I am able to I would like to buy him if I am able to I am not sure if I will be able to buy him but if I am able to then I was thinking about buying him.
Do you think there are any types of youth mustang makeover type competitions in Canada? I have previously trained horses and I’m about to turn 13. Thank you so much for your help! 💕
Okay so I’m currently trying to apply for next years extreme mustang makeover and it’s my first year. I’ve done my research on the BLM. I have so many questions still unanswered though. I plan to do this for 2 years. My second I want to keep the horse I train. Can I do that? I can find no where that I can. Please help me!
Yes! You can adopt from a TIP trainer, from a satellite adoption, or from an internet adoption. Check out the 'Mustang Heritage Foundation' or google 'Internet Mustang Adoption'
Ok so I have a question that’s been on my mind for awhile. So let’s say you get accepted n such, pick up the horse, but fail to train it? What happens?
There's a few different options here. You can either keep the mustang and then adopt it out to someone else, keep the mustang and adopt it, or send the horse back to holding. But, I always ask other trainers for help or suggestions if I ever get stuck. The mustang community is very helpful so we all try to help each other out!
Not on Player's Choice mustangs- and the auction is over. However the public can bid on these mustangs at the makeover in January when they have 120 days of training on them!

I hope she gets some coverage to let us know how she actually does work out.
Hopefully she still has that movement, if that's what the person who won her was looking for, but I'm a little doubtful. I totally agree :-)

Thoughts on the onaqui hma in Utah?
Honestly, I have no experience with any from there! I can ask around though, I'm sure one of my friends has had one from there
Why did you pick a short horse? To me size isnt a big deal, however the adaptability is more for horses 15hh and above.
Danielle Baker There were only a few over 15hh. Most mustangs are between 13.2-15.2hh (generally). Most aren’t very tall. My personally mustang, Lynx, is 14.1ish, and he’s just the perfect size! I don't worry as much about height as I do build.
Is Lynx a classic gray? His mane looks like its going to stay dark/black that would be so awesome 😀
Habakimi He was a buckskin when I got him, so I have no idea 😂
I would love to have a mustang a gelding preferably and lean to train western and trail riding. 16 h h buckskin tan and black.

Sam VanFleet thank you! I will look into that for the 2021 competition!
That last clip!! 😂😂😂
I was wondering if you have to pay for a mustang in youth division if it’s not players chose. Also can you keep the horse.
No, you adopt the youth horses for $125 you don't need to bid on them

Dude Lynx looks so healthy
What state u live in?? #love your channel
Leona Nel Florida :)
Thank you for answering my question!!!!
Is there a link available to view what the other horses sold for?
I don't believe so. I have a list from one of my friends keeping track during the auction, but no public list.
How can you part ways with Lynx then? I couldn't do it, he's adorable!
He's the only one I kept
can you bid on a mustang then just keep it? do you have to enter it into a mustang makeover? just wondering🙂
You could, you would have to drop out of the makeover. You may as well just do a regular internet adoption if you don't want to compete
Sam VanFleet thank you!
Do you ever train other peoples Mustangs? I mean from start to finish?
Yes
Did any of the mustangs have problems with getting on and off the trailer?
Savannah Which mustangs?
Are you aloud to buy the Mustang that you trained? After the 120 days?
Megan Ester Yes, you can bid on n your own mustang in the auction
Is the public allowed to go and bid as well? Im interested.
Not on Player's Choice mustangs- and the auction is over. However the public can bid on these mustangs at the makeover in January when they have 120 days of training on them!
Is the boy behind you (nee to your channel so don't know his name) a Bonanza Stang? Since you said his herd doesn't exsist anymore
Nope! He's from outside of an HMA- Wood Hills, Nevada
Is Lynx yours, or are you training him for a makeover? He is so cute!
He was my 2016 youth makeover mustang! But he's mine now :-)
Lucky! 😉
What is a tip horse

Do they geld the male horses before selling them
Yes mustangs are gelded before being up for adoption to the public

Wood Hills NV - Actually outside of an HMA. Only about 300 horses from his herd.
was her HMA Nevada?
lot 11- tag 4885?

It just means that the mustangs that don't get bids in the initial auction are available for a trainer to get for the EMM for $125 instead of bidding
