The true magic of future SC universe dynamics: making sure the universe is not all about you, but making sure your are appreciated by the universe where it counts ^^
Sometimes I think about how lucky we are to have Tony Zurovec working on Star Citizen and it fills my heart with the kind of joy that can only be compared to something like holding your child for the first time or seeing a whale jump out of the water in front of you.
Always a treat as usual. One thing that would be really great is the possibility to also create missions as players. Maybe thats pushing it a little bit but we can dream.
That's kind of part and parcel of what they're doing, but perhaps not to the same degree as what you're indicating. Interesting topic for theorizing how that would go
From what I understand, player missions will be possible. Technically, we can already pay for services. There just needs to be an in-game backend for the whole process.
Definitely easy to get excited over future content, and we love to theory-craft on how that content will work. I assume there will be some non-repeatable content, that will heavily depend on our actions. We might have to wait until our rep resets, as I've heard that it will slowly return to a neutral position, if we don't maintain it; possibly this will reset some content with it. One thing is for certain, SC will be heavily focused on planning and logistics.
Not really theorycrafting for the most part. Just about everything I said comes from CIG. But like I said, the question is whether they can actually make it function how they'd like.
Oh wow, I JUST re-watched Tony Z's Quantum video yesterday. Great timing, these features are 100% some of the most exciting aspects of the game for me. Cheers!
Even if I disagreed, this type of content is spot on. Original, well-made and constructive for the development of the game by promoting a debate around a specific topic.
Incredible video. I gotta say I would love to see things you're talking about in the game but it all so complicated that I have my doubts that it's possible. Like honestly Star Citizen is such an ambitious game that it seems like it just can't be done. Obviously, I hope they succeed.
I'ma say it this way Mr. Tomato. This is the promise of "Skyrim has Infinite questes" but actually attempting to fulfill it, in a meaniful way. "You ARE the quest log. You make your own every time, or over a period of time. but along your way here's a few things I'm giving you for playing me" ---The Anthropomoprhise Quantum lol.
Dude walking in with box of guns is awesome. LOL Still so frustrated that Tony chose quantum as the title of his background AI. Couldn't have picked something that was not exactly the same as the fast travel speed and drives used for that speed in the ship? Every time I mention it in chat, I have to clarify if I am talking about ship travel system or the background AI tech that is coming.
Thank you Space Tomato, I enjoyed this one a lot (again!). Looking forward to seeing these systems implemented in game. Together with all of its bugs, feats, and possible shenanigans for us players :)
Day 2 of my Space Tomato binge watch, and I gotta give respect for the subtle self-aware humor of "MUH" and "REEEE" onscreen during some exceptional tech talk regarding something (myself included at times) most peeps rarely give a second thought, until it inconveniences them somehow. I especially enjoy how often the sense of Scale and Immersion feature in your vids, equally regarding the in-game atmosphere as it were, but also on the development end, too. You're on the side of the space angels sir, and I'm digging it. Nicely done :)
@@SpaceTomato haha thanks! Finally got the game and just joined ya discord as well, loving the free fly so far, hopefully it sticks! (used your code to register, and will again if I buy in if possible)
As far as I'm aware, Quanta IS an entirely new system to gaming. It will allow economic adjustments independent of player interaction on a scale never before achieved. This will go a long way in making the universe feel vast and "in-progress", and you as only a small part of it rather than it being created to cater to you, as a player. Here's hoping the details of the mission and loot systems result useful and fun gameplay!
I think this type of system is going to be great if they actually get it right. Like I said on another video you made. This is going to be awesome because it furthers the identity of your character. It learns your playstyle and gives you more opportunities to do more of that. That way you dont need to go hunting for your favorite missions from system to system. Me I would love to explore in my 315p and find stuff in game that you normally dont get to see if you play combat all the time. With that having the missing reflect that and give rewards accordingly would be amazing. That way it can flesh out the immersion of the game and make it feel like a living breathing world. Minus the falling through planets... this is something that I crave in a game and nothing has come close since Star Wars galaxies in my opinion. I would love to see content change with you as you live your characters life. Go explore the galaxy and come back to your farm, mining operations, or go in a vulcan and start seeing these changes to your career paths and you do the work. Loved this video and thank you for putting it together. It is getting me excited to see each step they make, and help me look past the hard parts of the game and look to the future.
That's what I tell people, this is going to be a completely different game in a year, with all the mechanics and tech being implemented waiting another 12 months is the best course of action for a casual gamer

I really hope all these different gameplay loops are at least all valid ways of making money/reputation as well as all FUN. In Elite, the gameplay loops get old really fast (repetitive) and the ones that make the most money (by an order of magnitude) are sometimes the most boring.
Of these systems? The first version of the reputation system is in, the loot system will get us first version in October, and Quantum is being tested with the new dynamic events, it'll likely be in deeper use late next year. Of the game? There will likely not be a "release" for years. It'll generally continue towards that gradually, and continue afterwards.
How often throughout the last 9 years have I heard: When CIG starts to do this or do that, then we'll start to see what the game is going to be like... And every time that kind of happened it was more a disappointment than a step toward the dream...
Missions need to be only accessible after meeting the mission giver in person. After this missions should be accessible via coms up until you leave that system. On foot missions need to head in the direction of games like destiny. Right now they're all total junk. Flight/bounty missions need the exploration element and bounty missions beyond 'go to location/wait for spawn/shoot stoopid ai'. Right now bounty play is stale.
@@SpaceTomato having those mission givers on the ground is pointless if you don't need to visit them. There should be more interaction. Ground based missions on planet should require a visit to them with missions through streets or via vehicles to no fly zones, and I think bounties should require collection of proof of the kill. You can collect as many of these as you like and have to store them in your inventory (ship or otherwise) to be cashed in by visiting back to the mission givers. Just flying around, clicking accept on a bounty in a menu that just spawns and you kill the same way on repeat is pretty stale right now. I need reasons move around and keep things interesting and the NPC mission givers shouldn't just place holders like they basically are at the moment.
@@SpaceTomato I'm just not a big fan of open contracts I guess. That's all there is at the moment and for a game totally focused on detail and immersion,I find just clicking on a menu item to be really uninvolving and pretty stale at this point.
@@moonfly1 yep. The mission givers are broken. There are actually 6 mission givers in game right now with unique missions, but the system sucks at handling their systems and providing the opportunities to us, so they seem non existent. There were also 3 additional mission givers planned for 2020 and likely more after them that have been put on hold (o assume because of performance) that will likely be implanted when things improve. So the resources are there, the plans are there, they just have not gotten the game to a point where the backend is there.
