Thank you for making this video, i am walking the Portugeuse Camino next year, i will add this variant to it, looked very nice. Thanks you for all ! Warm greetings from Belgium (Antwerp)
Gracias, Stingy Nomads, por mostrar la belleza del Camino a su paso por GALICIA. Un saludo desde Santiago de Compostela, capital de Galicia y ciudad patrimonio de la humanidad.
Beautiful filming. I walked this route in May this year. I split your first stage in 2, staying in Combarro overnight. It's a very beautiful and quiet route and I'd heartily recommend it too. I took the smaller fast boat, they told us about many things as we passed. After breakfast in Pontecesures I walked to Milladoiro. The albergue there is excellent and it left only 7.3 km to Santiago de Compostela next day.
Hi. We stayed in Combarro for 3 nights and loved it. Such a unique and beautiful town. Milladoiro is a good stop before Santiago to make your last day shorter.
I walked this in September 2022 after walking from Lisbon. It is a wonderful wonderful 2-3 day walk. The best walk of any of my caminos. Incidentally, after the boat trip i carried on to O Millidoero, leaving just 8km to go to Santiago.
Thanks for the comment. We walked the Spiritual Variant the first time when we walked the Camino from Lisbon too. It is indeed one of our favorite Camino routes.
this was wonderful...we walked the Camino Portuguese Coastal in 2018, but by passed the Spiritual Variant...I would now like to return! many thanks and buen camino!
Hello. The Spiritual Variant is a spectacular route I would definitely recommend it if you decide to walk the Camino again. It can be walked as a separate route as well without completing the whole Camino.
Hi. Thank you for the comment. I just finished walking the Litoral Way and absolutely loved it. We have a new detailed post on the route with PDF files that might be helpful for your planning stingynomads.com/litoral-way-portuguese-camino/ Buen Camino
Walking the Variante Espiritual three weeks ago. The first day was a little bit challenging by the long uphill section to Armenteira. The second and third day are very enjoyable. I recommend this variant.
I have watched this video more than a couple times now since I will be including the spiritual variant in May next year on my first Camino. So your comments here and there are very helpful as I prepare. But I believe the idea that everyone experiences the Camino in their own way. Perhaps your first time on the Spiritual Variant was different than this second time. Was it? I'm also wondering how long the boat ride was. Thank you so much for being such a delightful, gentle and informative pilgrim!
Wonderful video, it surely convinced us to take this route on our Portuguese Camino in August. We'll be doing it in reverse from Santiago to Porto and looking for boat crossing options I found a company which sounds a bit pricey (30€/pers) and another one called La Barca del Pelegrino whose website only have a booking option from Vilanova to Pontecesures. We'll obviously need to cross in reverse (Pontecesures to Vilanova) and looking for advice if you could help with any useful information please.🙏
Hello. I used La Barca del Pelegrino. I have seen on their website that they offer return trip you can probably book it one way in the opposite direction as well. In August they run every day and they have to get back to Vilanova after dropping off pilgrims in Pontecesures. I would suggest sending them an e-mail with your request. I am quite confident they will be able to take you. Buen Camino
Hello, nice that you’re back. Waiting to see 2 more people ;) When shall we meet the littlest one of your family? Hope you’re still enjoying life in Portugal. Greetings from Belgium starting in Porto end of july. ❤
Hi. Our daughter does not like sitting so we can not push her in a stroller or carry in a backpack and she is too small to walk the Camino. Maybe when she is a bit older we can walk together but for now we have to take turns. Enjoy the walk and Buen Camino
You can take a bus to Pontevedra from most places on the Central Route. The Spiritual Variant starts 3 km past Pontevedra, the easiest way is to walk there from the town.
I walked the Camino last year from Sarria and it had straight forward signs, the spiritual way, while so tranquil, doesn't seem to have any arrows or signs.
How do you know that the Spiritual Way does not have signs? Have you walked it? I didn't have any problem finding the way on the route. It does have signs and arrows.
A very nice vid! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you.
Wow! Beautiful ❤

Many thanks for this lovely video. I will walk the Portuguese Way this fall and will take this alternative route following your recommendation.
Glad it was helpful! Buen Camino

The Spiritual Variant is a beautiful route. I have done it twice and both times really liked it

Beautiful, beautiful video from the spiritual variant of the Portuguese camino. What month did you hike in?
❤
Thank you for the video. I plan to do this route this coming September, so this is really helpful for me. May I ask where you stayed in Armenteira?
We stayed in the public albergue in Armenteira
@@StingyNomads thank you
Any advice to get to the Spiritual Variant from some point in Central Route before Spain, then continue on to Santiago? Thanks.

Great video-what camera did you use?
Hi. We used GoPro9 to film this video.
Is this Part of route cyclable with a bike?

If you have trouble with your knees or hips, don't do this route. Do the traditional and take a ride over.
Stingy Nomads, la senda es "camiño da pedra e da auga". Estás en Galicia y así es como se denomina esa senda: en gallego!
Spiritual variant is good opcion
