Yesterday, I spent $60. OUT THE DOOR AT A PAWN SHOP! Today I googled and came up with your 3shot zero instruction. I have NEVER been able to zero a rifle scope in my life...on my own! Today in just 7 shots my Used GAMO SHADOW WHISPER I am on the 1cent diameter improvised target at a hair over 10 yards to adjust the GAMO SCOPE. The last 4 of the 10 shots useing Premier Destroyer 7.4gr pointed .177 pellets were all inside that circle. The squirrels in my pecan tree are headed to the frying pan!! Thank you for simple and easy instructions!
Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus! It's a great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!
Thank you Matt for demonstrating how easy "0" stop setting is and zeroing the Element products can be...cheers and hope to see the next video soon...:-)
One shot zero...1st. shoot at 35 yards while aiming at center target dot...2nd hold rifle at center target. 3rd turn dials to line up with the bullet hole. 4thly you are done... 1 shot zero... you can do this at any distance you want rifle zeroed. Note at 100 yds you may need a 4'x4' target. Done this many times works 100%. If you do this with a stationary rifle while dialing the turrets there's no need to even take a confirmation shot.
Matt, GREAT video of the way to get the optic adjusted. I bought a Helix for my air rifle , loved it, so had to get two more for my rimfire CZ and centerfire 6.5 CM caliber AR. OUTSTANDING optics!
Bore sighted my weatherby vanguard in the basement at 25 feet. I was on paper at 50 yards. Still took about 7 rounds to be zeroed at 100 yards. But bore sighting works! Used those little colored round stickers to create points of reference.
great demonstration thank you. now say i have turned my turrets. how do i make sure that i am starting with the recital in the center. do i rotate the turret all the way down then go all the way up then put it in the middle position? my zero stop came adjusted to stop with the truant ail the way at the bottom. thank you for your time.
Can't wait for mine either. I've got a brand new FX that needs a scope :) Will be an Helix. I understand that the lenses are of a lower quality than in the Titan. But I'll use adjustable mounts to keep it close to the optical zero at 50m and have a clear poa.
So, here's my issue. When moving the up or down turret the reticle moves left to right. The left to right reticle moves up or down. Strange but if that works for sighting in and adjusting while shooting I'm fine with it.
Okay Matt, thank you very much for the explanation for zeroing the air rifle, I have also seen a similar explanation given by Roelf, okay I will apply it on the field ...... thank you
Hi Matt, is it not the other way around @ 4:49 3.4 mrad up and 2.7 mrad left? Also does it mean that this is how u turn the turrets or is the vector of how much ur off aim, which would mean u turn 3.4 mrad down and 2.7 mrad right.Thanks.
follow-up. I have a sightmark wraith day/night vision scope. Go to sight-in, set caliber, bullet weight, set up to shoot. You will notice standard cross hair plus red "X". Take your shot at 25 yards. Put the cross hair "X" on bull's eye, move red "X" to bullet hole, hit "ok". You are now "zeroed". I DO take the second shot for "piece of mind", but you should be very close at 100 yards. Been there, done that.
@@ElementOptics No doubt and a novice shooter is wise to shoot 5 rounds discounting bad shots produced as a result of shooter error. BTW, back in 2003 I brought an iron sight 6.5/284 to the opening 600-yard Match of US NRA National Long-Range Championships. It was the first 600-yard event for that rifle. In other words, I went to the firing line without a no-wind ZERO for 600-yard distance. So, in prep period I laid the rifle out on seat of shooting stool and bore sighted, thereafter adjusting sight for elevation based on ballistics drop table. Upon hearing "you may commence firing when targets appear" I held hard and called my shot "right-in-there". Since it was indeed right-in-there, a pinwheel X, I decided to go for record. My next 6 shots were 12 o'clock ten ring hits, even though I was adjusting elevation downward about a half minute per shot. Of course, my nemesis was increasing barrel temperature which did not become consistent until my 7th round for record. When I finished my 20-round string of fire I discovered I shot a 200 clean with 14 X ring hits, which was good for a 4th place finish. Thing is I wonder now "what if" what if I had taken some more sighter shots to warm up my barrel to a consistent temperature? As I recall the 1st place shooter shot a 200 X 17.
#1 Question that almost no video is specific about. When you make click adjustments, are you trying to move the cross hairs to the point of impact or point of impact to the cross hairs?
Hi Matt I have a question Iff I zero my Element Titan on 25 meter I just buy it and the weather is very bad but I like to no how much space I have to dial up to 150 meter or I need to make the zero then on 50 meters Thanks for your time
Why can't I bore sight the gun, and then secure the gun on the bench, then take one shot at the bullseye, then adjust the sights to be dead center of the first hole and then aim for the bullseye and bingo, two shot sigh in?
Hey, Matt. I have my brand new Helix scope mounted, but being a beginner shooter, my first shot was not even in the ball park. Question: where should the turrets be on the first shot? I am assuming windage and elevation should be a zero? Is 50 yards okay for my first zeroing attempt? I am shooting a RAW HM1000X Chassis. Right now just trying to get on paper. Frustrating. Also, any tips on getting a clear and centered look through the scope's sight window? Thanks for all you do.
You can get lasers that are the same caliber as your rifle, so when chambered it shows close to where the bullet will hit. Makes it very easy to closely zero without spending a single round!
Hello, I just purchased this scope and having a hard time getting it sighted in. Should I just completely remove the zero stop initially on both elevation and windage when sighting. I plan on using my rifle for hunting so I’m confused on how I would adjust from 25yard - 100yards or more. Any tips? Thanks in advance!
@@ElementOptics lol for the past few days been re-watching both videos to get a better understanding. I got the scope zeroed in for 25. Trying to find a way to save the numbers at 50 -100+ yards so I can make the adjustments on the go. Thanks for the videos though!
After zeroing my Sig Saur BDX scope, the rangefinder it came with sends the ballistic data for the bullet to the scope and a little light on the reticle indicates the bullet drop for that distance. Before I get to my stand, I use my phone to find the bullet and send it's data to the rangefinder. If there's much wind I can plug an estimate for that into the system as well. When my spotter sees the boar, he lines up the cross-hairs on the rangefinder and pushes the button, sending the data to the scope. All I have to do then is line up the light on the reticle(s) with the target and pull the trigger to put 165 grains of death into the boars brain. He'll drop like a wet dishrag.
Very nice, but what did you pay for that combination, there is a huge difference in price and optics between your system and this Helix 2 Nd focal plane. You can not compare the two( not saying you are, but why then mentioning it here)
But... this assumes that you've already tuned your handloads. It doesn't work worth a crap with a new rifle or if you aren't already intimately familiar with your ammunition.
If its a brand new rifle, you’ll probably have to break the barrel in a bit before you can accurately zero anyway. But getting as close as possible will still help, I guess!
