A few months after a breakup, hearing this song was so triggering. I'd feel it all over again. I'll cry. I couldn't function. So I had to do everything in my power to avoid this song, no matter how beautiful it was. That was 2019. Now that it's 2022, I listen to this song and I still remember it all and how it felt - but it no longer hurts the same way. Yesterday I was at the gym listening to this song, and I started to get this Deep dark rush running through my body. I got really sad... in between my sets I started to look at old pictures in my phone of her and I started to tear up... when I noticed myself tearing up I would jump onto my exercises to forget.... but after I finished It just came out. It’s unhealthy how much I fantasize of a better ending, to a story that now feels like a fantasy. Now all there is are memories, but when I look back on us it feels like a dream, and now all I can do is keep dreaming. Things aren’t the same. I’m not the same, neither are you. And we never will be. I can’t tell if it’s for the better, or if there ever will be a happy ending. I question if there ever is. This song makes me hopeful, in an unexplainable way, but it just does. I started dating my best friend of 7 years after refusing him for years in fear of it ending badly. I should have stuck to my gut feeling. I played this song in the car for her on our first date November 3rd 2018. I had just discovered it and wanted to share it. I remember almost perfectly, her sitting in the passenger seat smiling really shyly, and the evening sky whirring past her right side as we drove down the highway. It was so picturesque; something I couldn't ever forget. And on the drive home from our crazy and perfect 6 hour long date all over the city, this song was on repeat all the way home. All I could think about was when I'd see her again, as I listened to the song over and over again. It felt Ironic at the time to listen to something so sad, but I didn't think of it much and just continued to listen because I really liked the melody and calm mood matching with the calm night drive. After making several playlists over the years, I started to listen more carefully to the song. It began to feel emotionally powerful, so relatable in a sense that if I ever lost her, I'd be in the same spot as this song. Even though I was in the happiest relationship I'd ever been in, I felt I only wanted the best for her in the end. Despite the song's meaning becoming more heavy for me after a while, every time I listened to this song I could always remember the evening sky illuminating her beautifully soft face and smile. It felt so enlightening to remember her first soft smile with me. After some time this song and several others were added to a number of our playlists. We both saw Umi at Tropicalia together, something we wanted to do for a while. A lot of Umi's music marked a period a new period of our lives. And this song marked a beginning of something new for me. But it became a completely different song when things came to an end. Sitting here now, listening to the song that stayed with me throughout all that time, it means so much more to me now than it ever did before. Even though we're still friends, the memories we will make now, will never be the same as when we were together. It makes me wonder if she'll remember the things we did, the same way as I remember them. Some days I write little letters as if I was talking to her and reminiscing over the things we did. I know I'll never send them, but I always thank her for the memories we made. She changed me forever. She taught me how to love myself and live for the things I love. This is way too relatable. I just broke up a few days ago and I'm just so confused. It didn't end in bad terms, and that's the part that makes me so sad. The part where you wrote "only because you were good to me doesn't mean that you didn't break me" hits me so hard and I feel so sorry for her even though I was trying, for not being able to meet with her standard and make her happy. She did me wrong sometimes, but for me it was nothing compared to the love we shared. But then it all ended, just like that. One part of me thinks that this might be better off for her, meeting better people who can make her happy or just spending her own time without me meddling. One the other hand, I can't let go of the precious bond we shared. She did say that we should meet again in the future if we weren't seeing anybody, so another part of me thinks that I should try to become a better person who can make her happy in the future, and just respect her decision and let her do as she pleases for the time being. A few months after a breakup, hearing this song was so triggering. I'd feel it all over again. I'll cry. I couldn't function. So I had to do everything in my power to avoid this song, no matter how beautiful it was. That was 2019. Now that it's 2022, I listen to this song and I still remember it all and how it felt - but it no longer hurts the same way. Based on this, we can fairly easily predict what will happen in Umi's next music video. In Season 1, Episode 2 of the last airbender, Aang is introduced to the water tribe after being isolated for a century, thrown into a whole village of people that he doesn't know, but he still manages to make friends and have fun. However, he is eventually banished from the water tribe village and has to run away when the Fire Nation descends on the water tribe's party, ruining everything. I think that Umi will be placed into a situation where she is isolated/uncomfortable (her proverbial water tribe) but still has a lot of fun, but then will be forced to run away from this situation when an external force (her "fire nation") arrives to ruin everything.

I started dating my best friend of 7 years after refusing him for years in fear of it ending badly. I should have stuck to my gut feeling. He left for school out of town and progressively became distant until he ended things with me. I still cared for him and invited him to my graduation. He promised to come and never showed up. Months later he calls me crying spilling the truth about why he really left. ( For another female of course). Things were going badly with her and his family and he told me “ I called you because I know no matter what I do you’ll always be there for me” that whole phrase makes me sick to my stomach to this day. Sadly it’s true I love him just as much as I hate him. I listened and gave him the best advice I could. I never really told him about the way I really feel on the inside. But this song made me burst into tears and start writing a letter to him.
EDIT: I haven’t talked to his trash ass since and I don’t regret it at all. I’ve completely moved and found someone who LOVES me.🥺 Y’all this man pays my rent. Makes sure I eat. He sets time aside just for us and is always planning fun dates. His communication skills are through the roof. We don’t ever argue we always talk through it. He’s so gentle with me and so level headed. Mean while my ex is making fake snapchats just to get ahold of me😭 PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LADIES. What one boy won’t do another MAN will.❤️

i've never experienced love, i love this song but can't relate to the video or even the lyrics, i still like it :)
I played this song in the car for her on our first date November 3rd 2018. I had just discovered it and wanted to share it. I remember almost perfectly, her sitting in the passenger seat smiling really shyly, and the evening sky whirring past her right side as we drove down the highway. It was so picturesque; something I couldn't ever forget. And on the drive home from our crazy and perfect 6 hour long date all over the city, this song was on repeat all the way home. All I could think about was when I'd see her again, as I listened to the song over and over again. It felt Ironic at the time to listen to something so sad, but I didn't think of it much and just continued to listen because I really liked the melody and calm mood matching with the calm night drive.
After making several playlists over the years, I started to listen more carefully to the song. It began to feel emotionally powerful, so relatable in a sense that if I ever lost her, I'd be in the same spot as this song. Even though I was in the happiest relationship I'd ever been in, I felt I only wanted the best for her in the end. Despite the song's meaning becoming more heavy for me after a while, every time I listened to this song I could always remember the evening sky illuminating her beautifully soft face and smile. It felt so enlightening to remember her first soft smile with me.
After some time this song and several others were added to a number of our playlists. We both saw Umi at Tropicalia together, something we wanted to do for a while. A lot of Umi's music marked a period a new period of our lives. And this song marked a beginning of something new for me.
But it became a completely different song when things came to an end. Sitting here now, listening to the song that stayed with me throughout all that time, it means so much more to me now than it ever did before. Even though we're still friends, the memories we will make now, will never be the same as when we were together. It makes me wonder if she'll remember the things we did, the same way as I remember them. Some days I write little letters as if I was talking to her and reminiscing over the things we did. I know I'll never send them, but I always thank her for the memories we made. She changed me forever. She taught me how to love myself and live for the things I love.
I am forever grateful for her and wish I could have made as big as of an impact on her life as she did for me. All I can do now is hope she finds the happiness I couldn't give her.

This is way too relatable. I just broke up a few days ago and I'm just so confused. It didn't end in bad terms, and that's the part that makes me so sad. The part where you wrote "only because you were good to me doesn't mean that you didn't break me" hits me so hard and I feel so sorry for her even though I was trying, for not being able to meet with her standard and make her happy. She did me wrong sometimes, but for me it was nothing compared to the love we shared. But then it all ended, just like that. One part of me thinks that this might be better off for her, meeting better people who can make her happy or just spending her own time without me meddling. One the other hand, I can't let go of the precious bond we shared. She did say that we should meet again in the future if we weren't seeing anybody, so another part of me thinks that I should try to become a better person who can make her happy in the future, and just respect her decision and let her do as she pleases for the time being. The last option does seem the most agreeable (as if I have any other choice), but I don't know. I don't know what to do. I'm so lost. It hurts so much and I wish there was something I can do.
