Made these several times. Sear your meat! Cube up the roast, salt and pepper, then sear before throwing in the pressure cooker. Dip the tortillas in the juice before building your tacos. Then after cooking, open the tacos to add cilantro and white onion. My kids and I love birria tacos!!! BTW, hello from the other side of Trinity
Haha.. Other side of Trinity! Nice! I think next time I will sear my meat just to add some flavor or even a little smoke before too. Most of the recipes, and this one from La Captail didn't sear.
I hope I'm right? You look like your mojo came back! Hope everything is going well with you! This you tube is stressful. I have been cooking for 30 years and you can run out of ideas and what people want! Some want the same thing all the time! That kills me. I want different once in a while. That kills the spunk in your jam! Your doing great man! From one North Carolinian to another! Love you brother! Wish you the best!
YOOOO HH! I dont understand the recent popularity about these tacos. Especially in Cali. But to me they just taste like spiced up pot roast meat tacos. But in Cali its STILL about the carne asada tacos!! All the way from the West Coast, you got me SPRUNG!!!
This was a fun video! I have had the pleasure of Cooking with the Schmidt (see what I did there) and it was so much fun. MAN, them Birria tacos looked amazing. I have not tried to make them yet, but I really need to, they look like they are packed with flavor!!! Great job guys!
Tacos are great to eat on any day besides Tuesday!! Have eaten these types of tacos with all of the different meats that you described and they are all terrific!! This was a great video, and the both of you pulled it off in a spectacular way!! Thanks HUSS!!👍😊😎
These tacos are quesabirria tacos. You also put consume in cup and add some meat, onions, cilantro & red salsa. You eat your quesabirria with consume. Very popular tacos. Thank. Good job
Excellent. Birria is a labor of love. Well worth the time and effort. I make the meat the day ahead of time - and have everything is ready to go for large parties. It's corn tortillas for us - dip those tortillas in the consommé, onto the hot griddle, flip, fill and crisp up. Delicious. Beware of those chipotle in adobo sauce - they pack a punch. Some finely shredded cabbage and radishes to top the consommé is fabulous. BTW - why does the Mid-West, the land of corn, not have corn tortillas? I was in Des Moines for recipe development and there was not a corn tortilla in sight. Well done on the Beef Birria - pork works well too!
How cool to see the Schmidt on your set Hus. I can't imagine how good those Birrias' are. I'll continue using canned/pre made ingredients and be eatin' my tacos in less then 30 minutes tho bro (I thro in some home grown peppers and such, and some of the canned sauces.....dang, they good). Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas to you and yours good sirs.
Man. Such a great dish. I make these at least a couple times a year. Fortunately there’s a couple spots nearby that make them very good also. I hit those up all the time.
I’m from the Central Valley of California and believe me there’s so much good birria and Mexican food in general around here it’ll make your head spin. Homemade always where it’s at though. I can make anything better or as good as the best at home it seems.
Should have seared the meat first, that flavor is important!! But this definitely looks awesome, I made a very similar birria a few months ago, and canned the leftover birria juices, and use it to make ramen, best ramen ever!
I've wanted to try making these, but have held off for some unknown reason too. Thanks very much for this instructional video. The tacos looked dynamite!! A lot of work, but they did look worth it.
Some people don't like cilantro because they are allergic to it. It leaves a horrible metallic soapy flavor on the tongue and it overpowers the flavor of the dish it is meant to garnish.
OMG another one who dislikes people who can't stand cilantro. Listen mister, it's not something I can do something about. It's been known that it's pure genetic, so stop the hating ok? I'm NOT eating soap.
@1:28 I like how he acts like he puts it on the table then slips it in like a magic trick 😂like he said he’s following direction
I’m sneaky
Wow. The video turned out amazing
I had a blast cooking with you Hussey
Thank you for the opportunity to hang out and learn some new things.
Very nice to meet and cook with you man.
That was cool. You guys make a great cooking tandem!
"A liter of Cola" Hahaha!!!
A liter of Cola is French for.......

It was a blast to cook with Hussey
He is a great guy for sure
Good to see The Schmidt flying wingman. Gotta do some birria soon.
Thanks Howard!

Shoot man, I enjoy abo0ut any taco. I like these because of the crisp tortillas and the cheese. I like the consume too.
Excellent podcast Hussey. You have a great friend and you should do more when time permits. Loved it!
Thanks Roger!

This was a fun video! I have had the pleasure of Cooking with the Schmidt (see what I did there) and it was so much fun. MAN, them Birria tacos looked amazing. I have not tried to make them yet, but I really need to, they look like they are packed with flavor!!! Great job guys!

Dang Hussy! Throwing down some more great groceries! Thanks for sharing again.
You're welcome Kevin!
Trying these this weekend actually making the meat right now to save a little time for tomorrow
That's the best way to do them day before.
It’s a process but well worth it! Great video! You can also dip the tortillas in the sauce prior to putting them on the grill for more flavor 😋
Very good. Thanks for the info!
Great job guys! Looks Awesome!
Thank you Becky! I appreciate you watching!

That's odd about the tortillas ! Ideally, I'd rather made this the day before so the fat separates better.
Looks delicious. Thank you
Thank you too
Out of all your videos, this is my favorite thing you have made. Happy Holidays brother
Wow, thanks bud! Appreciate that! Happy Holidays to you and yours friend.
@@thehungryhussey thanks man
Its very respectable how you did your research and how this came about. Really makes me want to try this 👌
Appreciate that. Nice that folks see some of the work that goes into it. Thanks for watching!
How cool to see the Schmidt on your set Hus. I can't imagine how good those Birrias' are. Yeah man, these things are laborious for sure. I'd like to find a quicker hack for sure!
It definitely was cool to be there
That looks so good.
Thanks my friend!
Fantastic video! Thank you!
Thank you Herbert!
Thanks fellas!
Thank you for watching, Gabe!
Boys these look amazing!!!!
Thanks Jess!
Looking great!
Try dipping the tortilla in the sauce, both sides before placing them on the griddle.... and always use corn tortillas for birria.
Man. Such a great dish. I make these at least a couple times a year. Fortunately there’s a couple spots nearby that make them very good also. I hit those up all the time.
The ones I had a restaurant was meh. I mean, a good taco, but lacked flavor.
I’m from the Central Valley of California and believe me there’s so much good birria and Mexican food in general around here it’ll make your head spin.
Homemade always where it’s at though. I can make anything better or as good as the best at home it seems.
Dang boy, that was a long video. Great job!
Ha ha ha he quoted "Super Troopers" Farva ha ha
One my my favorites!
That garlic clove that fell on the floor was very much used in the food😂. More flavor I always say ❤❤
😂 actually it was tossed. True story.
@@thehungryhussey yea tossed right back in to the molcajete lol
Awesome recipe, thanks
Hey there. Take a look at the description and the amounts and such are there.
Looking good in the neighborhood brothers. We got a event hook up right out side😎🤩
Sweet!
That was awesome!👍😊
Thanks Bobbi!
Mexican version of Italians Sunday gravy. Good stuff man!
Thanks! These were so legit!
Y’all need to meet up again, maybe a collaboration with each of you grilling your favorite dishes 🤷🏻♂️
That would be cool!
They look delicious.....
They were so dang good!
Looks sooo good 👍
They were SOOOO good!
That was some good Scmidt!
Yes it was
Yes sir!
Love it!
Hus, beef cheeks are good to, Chud n Smokin Joe used for theirs, I have 2 packs in the freezer also...
Oh yeah, beef cheeks I bet are delicious!
Looks so delicious.
Thanks my friend! They were SO good!
Well I hope you let him camp in your driveway so you can do a breakfast video, lol. So just how long was this cook? It looked awesome.
Haha... He camped up the road a little ways. DIdn't want the HOA to act up!
Thanks for the shoutout! ❤
Welcome amigo!
The zest of that lime in the salsa will kick that thing UP
5:50 total disrespect of the Super Troopers joke 😂
😂
Wow That Looks Really Good You Mite When To Think About Infrared Heater For Your Cooking Area
I have one to bring out. Usually when the BS is on, it warms up a little.
I went to respond and decided this wasn't the proper forum to discuss where this was going.
Looking forward to your new smoker.
A another great meal what can I say nothing but the best🎅 Midway
Thanks my friend! Not far from me in Midway!
Looks like a lot of work, but worth it Hussey!
Thanks BBB! It was a lot of work but very rewarding!
Up next: ramen Birria. Trust me. (I made jackfruit Birria and it was TO DIE FOR)
I'm for sure that's some good groceries!
Ramen, nachos, quesadillas, egg rolls, pizza
Hussey Cleaverhands!
Thank you sir! I take consider that a great comment for sure!
Oh yea!!!
Steve... Liter of cola🤣🤣
Next time dip the corn tortilla in the fat juice before adding to the griddle, I like to dothatversus the pour over
Noticed some do that and some don't. I think that would be great!
Hey Hussey what griddle temp when cooking these?…… I used corn tortillas & tried low, med & high heat & they just fell apart when trying to flip???
They do get a little delicate and gotta be careful.
These were probably low to medium
Did anyone else catch Schmidt's Super Trooper reference?
Heck, I don’t know if I did or not.
3 hours prep and just 30 seconds to eat it. You'd need to cook that for a large group to make it worthwhile. Looks DAMN good tho.
Try running your tortilla shell through the consume before putting on the Blackstone.
Nice tip!
Nothing like a Sam Jones double cleaver chop
Who you think Sam learned from? Me!
Kidding. He should be good, chopping that much Q.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
This was so dang good!
Should have seared the meat first, that flavor is important!! But this definitely looks awesome, I made a very similar birria a few months ago, and canned the leftover birria juices, and use it to make ramen, best ramen ever!
Weird thing, you search for the recipe and no one sears the meat, but I agree with. you, could add flavor.
Question, Am I...... welcomed at the Hussey Household table? Lord says all are welcomed........He said it....;-)
You've been mooching the past three weeks and you're still crying? 😂
@@thehungryhussey mooching?! I beg to differ. Take care of your soldiers, they will take care of you 😘😘
When I go to a mexican restua rant I alway ask if the have Birria.
Many around my area do not have it.
Maaaaaaaan HH, you didnt want to brown that meat beofre you put it in the IP? I always brown my meat first to create more flavor.
No one browns it amigo from the research I done.
@@thehungryhussey Ohhh. Gotcha, I rarely do it by the book. I tend to cook for flavor and to me browing makes everything more flavorful.
No measuring. Me likey!
I don't measure hardly at all. haha
I've wanted to try making these, but have held off for some unknown reason too. Thanks very much for this instructional video. The tacos looked dynamite!! A lot of work, but they did look worth it.
I was the same way Dan. Gotta make them bud!
Some people don't like cilantro because they are allergic to it. It leaves a horrible metallic soapy flavor on the tongue and it overpowers the flavor of the dish it is meant to garnish.
There's all types. My wife just don't care for it like I do. She's not allergic or anything. I just like it and like lots of it.
This is a long recipe to get to that taco lol
If this is a Spanish dish the double “rs” are rolled when pronounced.
Right...
All I can say Hussey is.......dude
Thank you Conrad!
Hussey.......all that work for the salsa, and you didn't add it to your tacos. We need to know how it tasted!
Haha... I know right! I totally forgot about it. I was ready to be done! The salsa was great, but honestly, not really needed with the consume.
OMG another one who dislikes people who can't stand cilantro. Listen mister, it's not something I can do something about. It's been known that it's pure genetic, so stop the hating ok? I'm NOT eating soap.
haha... I'm just picking at you other 50% ers...
I’ll tell ya’ why it took you so long. Cause it takes so damn long! Lol!
Hahaha, yes it did
Good video, but a lot of work.
Yes it was, but very much worth it!
