Not made in the UK, but Blackstar is a UK company started by engineers from Marshall. Great amps at a really affordable price! Thanks for all the posts!
i love this amp. perfect for a first practice amp but also cranks up louder than any other i've heard of the same size. i chose it over the marshall cfx i wanted 'cause the fact it's a valve amp means the tone is just incredible. better to get one of these and invest in effects later, seeing as the only variations you can make are the overdrive channel, EQ, tone and ISF. totally worth it.
I bought one of these about 4 years ago and it is my favorite amp. It is loud enough for a small gig. Valve amps sound their best when you push them and being only 5 watts means I can push this amp on a gig. If I need more power I mike it through the PA. I also use this amp on jazz gigs and it gives me a beautiful, warm sound. The one thing I miss is built in reverb. If you like a little reverb you will have to buy a pedal as I did. This led to another discovery; reverb is expensive. It is the most basic of all effects but one of the most costly. I bought a Digitech pedal for $150 Aus. If I lost this amp due to some rat bag stealing it (the main way to lose instruments) I would buy another the next day.
@SimanGtr75 The emulated output is a headphone level output... I'm not sure if that's the same signal as a line out, but if it's not, I'm sure you can turn that into a line level signal with some sort of DI!
i bought this amp yesterday. Best tone for a practise amp. AND you can also use it as a head and hook up a cab with it. probably best to wait at least 3 minutes on stand by to get a good sound since its valve
I bought the amp yesterday, I think there's a problem with the footswitch or amp. Cause when I press on the Footswitch. It goes to overdrive but doesn't want to comeback to clean. Please help! :(
I played it in a 200+ people gig not mic'd up and it was perfectly fine (not even full volume + some effects), i'm sure if you mic it it will be perfectly fine for a venue of any size.
I have this amp and I think it is quite weak. The problem with it is that the sound has no body, is very thin. And the overdrive part is the worst, forget it if you want a warm sound.
It's good, but the price is too expensive. If the price is low, there will be many other choices And if you choose Chinese products at high prices, many Americans will be angry.
Blackie Lawless First. This is not a Chinese amp; it is Korean. Second. Why would I worry about making Americans angry? I am not an American. I am proudly Australian.

I have the mini stack and sounds incredibly well

@theperfectguitar Thanks, I'm seriously considering investing in one of these.
@minedarea No you can easily play it at a reasonable volume, but still get a great tone out of it!

Are these too loud for bedroom use? Would I need to invest in an attenuator too?
can u connect the combo to an ht-110 cab?
@minedarea We would love to help you out with that! :)
They are made in the UK so it's EqualiSation!!!
Push off overdrive with the button to top
Left of amp
EqualiSation???
It is EqualiZation!!!
is this loud enought for a gig?
Mic it
William White Right on. More and more people, myself included, are buying smaller, high quality kit and micking up.

Aunque este amplificador sea a bulbos, no entiendo por qué es tan caro

Warning!!...not "all tube"...It´s "solid state" pre-amp
MrRandyKorea And? What difference does it make if an amp sounds good?
I could have swore the ISF worked the other way...
0 being British
10 being American
I could be wrong tho, you all ARE the reviewers anyway.
i think he said it right but i too think it should be the other way around where 0 is british
