Between the Man From UNCLE and Sean Connery as James Bond, the 60s were the spy series and movies heyday (lets not forget I Spy). Today they look technologically unsophisticated because that was 50 years ago but they really were ahead of their time back then often showcasing the future plot wise even if the computers were just some silver painted cardboard boxes with arbitrary flashing lights. Wasn't till I studied the martial arts later in adolescence that I realized you cannot karate chop somebody on the back of the neck and knock them out like Napoleon Solo did. But Napoleon and Illya were our generation's Holmes and Watson. Napoleon Solo was unapologetically debonaire and Illya Kuryakin was the eternal stoic pragmatist. Kuryakin back then looks like what Macauley Culkin should have grown up to look like if he did not have demented parents who traumatized him, had worked out and had taken some B vitamins to prevent premature aging.
+Andrew J. Lennertz BS, NLP As a 28 year old, don't know where this unsophisticated comment comes from, The older Bond movies look more awesome than modern ones because of the LACK of fancy gadgets.
