Couldn't agree more on your comments regarding animal cafes. Here in my town we've got a cat cafe called Gatoffee that was founded by three ladies who protect and rescue cats, and they have a separated place for the cats, where they have a tunnel to another cat-only room, so they can go away anytime they want. The visitors also can't take them on their laps no to stress the cats, and most part of the money they own is used to help rescuing more cats. It's pretty much the only animal cafe I feel happy about going, since they really love their cats and are using the money to help them.

I understand what you mean. I wanted to add in my video that I think there are very specific scenarios in which a cat cafe could work, but that would've made it all too long.
I think it can be a great alternative for rescues so long the cats in the cafe have a place to get away and are the type of cats who thoroughly enjoy human interaction. I also think that when it comes from a rescue perspective, it's almost a given that the needs of the cats come first. Like there are cats who will go and get a cuddle from everyone they can get one from; those cats would probably love to be in such a place. There should also be rules in place like you mentioned; no picking up the cats. Thankfully, they had those rules at the cafe I went to in Japan as well, but they hold up poorly when you can pay for a cat to be put in your lap forcefully (which I gathered from a review I read) or dress them up. So in short; it could work with cats under specific circumstances in my opinion simply due to the nature of some cats. But owls, piglets, hamsters, hedgehogs; those animals do not thrive in such a setting and Japan needs to step up. But I fear it's going to take a long time before they'll get there.
The pop-up cafe looked really cool! But the poor cat made me want to cry. 😥

I feel bad for that cat 😢😢 thank u for showing the reality which hardly some do show .I wish the cats to take control of the place but yeah 😅 feels bad.
