Sounds like this would shine best alongside harder drums, as a background texture that could be soloed in the quieter parts of a song, then the really hard beats could drop back in.

this thing sounds like a modem about to blow up with some siouxsie and the banshees leads mixed in. which is to say, you make it sound perfect !
Love that he calls out Autechre records a few minutes in. I just got one and love it. Embrace the happy accidents and not knowing what happening the whole time. LOVE Blast Beats and this video is a great example.

I loved Gridlock. Whatever happened to them?
Believe they disbanded in 2005, and sadly one of the two, Mike Wells, passed away in 2022.
They were so good. It's a shame, most of their discography isn't available for streaming. This day and age that feels like it will end up as lost media.
Yo bro, have you been able to get a torso t1 to talk properly to the blast beats? I been having so much trouble with it, partly cuz of the way the midi notes are configured to the drum kit, starting to think it's not possible.
Did you try „wiggle” option , that’s great funcionality but now in new firmware in R2 type units not work

How does the MegaFM stack up to Blast Beats performance-wise? Sounds like the BB is on it's own level!
Completely different synths. MegaFM is like having a physical DX11 (4OP FM) but with the ym2612 or ym3438 and fader/per function programming.
Blast beats is built around the old sound blaster chip with a completely different architecture. Blast Beats is centered as a percussion/drum module that can do other stuff, Mega FM can make drum sounds but only one at a time, no multitimbrality. However, 1-12 notes of polyphony.
They are completely different but both I think are highly essential pieces of gear.

Sounds like your commentary is clipping. We've all been there, but you could fix that with Izotope RX De-Clip in post.
Wrong channel man, this ain't Andrew Huang's. If it ain't clipping, Joey doesn't like it.
Izotope RX is okay, but I was gonna suggest a delay, on a really short setting, to get like a twangy comb filter effect (in spots, where it matched the sound from the Volca Drum on steroids that he's using. I mean that soundwise - it doesn't have a UI like the Volca, at all. But the sound reminds me of an expanded version of that, maybe if the Volca mated with with a MegaFM)
