      It could’ve worked!! If she was more upset about Gothel’s death, if Zhan Tiri messed with her head to, like, start doubting Rapunzel’s reasons. She was not there, after all, it was easy to question the “murder” of Gothel rather than the kidnapping.

      @@nicolacancedda2362 overshadowed, overlooked, waiting in the wings, always second best. It started early with gothel gaslighting her and later zantiri capitalized on those feelings. Why am I second? Why does nobody listen to me? She doesn't want to realize that it wasn't rapunzel's fauld that gothel chose her. Doesn't want to realize that gothel didn't love her or rapunzel. Doesn't want to realize she is hurting people. But it stems from this : you were chosen over me. Rapunzel doesn't help and she is in the wrong and doesn't want to hear it. I liked the series for the most, but I felt like everything after Cass' betrayal went downhill from there. It would've been better if Cassandra's main motivation wasn't about Gothel neglecting her for Rapunzel because it's established as common knowledge that Gothel abused her just as much. They should've had Zhan Tiri brainwash her instead of whispering obvious lies from over her shoulder and not have it last the entire season.

      I think that Captain Cassandra Gothel Frollo is The Real Biological Firstborn Daughter of Mother Gothel and Judge Claude Frollo, because Cassandra inherited the personality of her true biological mother called Mother Gothel, but she also inherited the appearance of her true biological father called Judge Claude Frollo, but unlike her true biological parents who are evil and powerful villains, Cassandra is a so serious, so sweet, so honest, so kind, so funny, so generous, so loyal, so selfless, so brave, so organized, so optimistic, so sensible, so adventurous, so empathetic, so competitive, so intelligent, so responsible, so loving and above all, so beautiful heroine since the day she was born, because Cassandra always wanted a kind and loving family from the day she was born, but her true biological parents never treated her very well, because as they are one of the most evil and most powerful villains in the entire world, Judge Claude Frollo and Mother Gothel was always using her as their servant for their own goals and Captain Cassandra has 8 biological younger sisters and 4 biological younger brothers called Claudius Gothel Frollo, Claudine Gothel Frollo, Claudia Gothel Frollo, Ginny Gothel Frollo, Molly Gothel Frollo, Marios Gothel Frollo, Gabe Gothel Frollo, Gina Gothel Frollo, Marcus Gothel Frollo, Gem Gothel Frollo, Gemini Gothel Frollo and Rubya Gothel Frollo, and I also knew that Mother Gothel and Judge Claude Frollo never loved their own Real Biological Firstborn Daughter Captain Cassandra, because even though Mother Gothel is the Real Biological Mother of Captain Cassandra Gothel Frollo and Judge Claude Frollo is the Real Biological Father of Captain Cassandra Gothel Frollo, they were using Princess Rapunzel and Quasimodo as their own children for their own goals, and I think that Quasimodo is the Real Biological Younger Twin Brother of Princess Rapunzel, the Real Biological Brother-in-law of Prince Flynn Rider, the Real Biological Younger Twin Son of King Frederick and Queen Arianna, the Real Biological Younger Twin Nephew of Princess Wilhelmina, the Future Younger Twin Nephew of Agent Lance Sterling, the Future Adoptive Cousin of Walter Beckett, the Future Adoptive Cousin-in-law of Princess Mirabel Madrigal, the Future Adoptive Brother-in-law of Varian, the Adoptive Younger Brother of Captain Cassandra Gothel Frollo, the Future Husband of Madellaine and the Future Adoptive Uncle of Opal and Jasper.

      Cassandra is an abandoned child, she has probably lived all her childhood wondering why her mother cast her away and has struggled with her self-worth for years.
      Cassandra is also someone who trains day and night to become someone important and worth of recognition, but Rapunzel pretty much outshines her at every turn.
      Rapunzel is the princess, she's happy, she's artistically talented, well-read, also a better fighter than Cassandra. Also, Rapunzel is destined to be great, meanwhile, Cassandra is destined to....nothing.
      Cassandra, in a spur of the moment action, betrayed Rapunzel to be someone. It was a mistake and she didn't know how to walk back from that mistake. Every episode after her betrayal is pretty much Cassandra struggling with the knowledge that her betrayal was worthless, that she maybe isn't worthy of being forgiven and that she doesn't know where to go anymore.
      She's like a kid that stole money from her parents to run away, got scammed at some point and now, she's ashamed to return home and face her parents.

      main reason I personally would've hated that is just cause I hate Cass's fall into villainy worse than I hate her "redemption", tbh I feel like they had two different and very conflicting motivations for Cass building, one being protective of Rapunzel and distrusting Adira and worrying what will happen if Rapunzel grabs the moonstone for her safety because she cares more about Rapunzel than anything else... and feeling overshadowed and robbed of things by Rapunzel. The two just don't mesh well into what happened
      not the only time the story kind of forgot their own twist, like with Eugene's dad helping even after being mind controlled saving their butts for no explainable reason. Or like how the moonstone people sabotage the efforts to trap SPECIFICALLY ZHAN TIRI when Cass already planned to double cross her out of not trusting her. It's just really weird at a lot of points. There's also Matthews helping Rapunzel by telling her all about the top and it's stipulations then lament when she *somehow* succeeds like BRO. WHY DID YOU TELL THEM HOW THE TOP WORK IF YOU DIDNT WANT IT UNDONE

  • @josephbiddle1637
    @josephbiddle1637 2 месяца назад +47

    Yeah, the “Moonstone Cassandra” portion of Cass’s arc really was the downfall of season three in my eyes. The season isn’t bad, but the show could’ve been one that gets better every season. But then it fumbles the Cass storyline. I think they were so excited to write the betrayal so much that when they finally got to write it, they realized they forgot to plan out the second half of the arc and never really figured out how to connect the dots from where they were to the finale.
    Honestly, Varian suffered similarly from the writing of season three. The writing for all of his episodes was great until he joined the main cast. After that, it was basically a coin flip of whether he would be used for something important or if he would just chill as a background character.
    Also, along that topic, I know that a lot of people hate that, in the episode with the race for the treasure when Varian is paired up with the story-telling blacksmith guy, Varian is so mean to that guy and gets easily frustrated with him. Honestly, I get it completely. I have people like that in my life who only need one word of phrase to trigger a tangent that they then use to hijack the conversation and not let you get a word in edgewise for at LEAST 10 minutes if you’re lucky. I’ve had multiple different hour-long lectures stem from me mentioning something I heard or watched offhandedly. And it’s even worse when it’s an old, boring story you never wanted to hear. It makes talking to those people an absolute minefield. Anyone who has seen Sword Art Online: Abridged episode 4 knows EXACTLY what the internal reaction is. Abridged version Kirito puts it so eloquently. Varian’s frustration is SO valid.

      @vuivraalbastra 2 месяца назад +11

      Totally agree with everything you said about Varian. I was so mad when in his own redemption arc Rapunzel is the one doing more to save the day than him and how in the finale the portal built by Varian and the rest are just a detour and nothing relevant to defeating Zhan Tiri. He's such a smart guy, he should have been way more relevant in season 3. And the blacksmith is one of my least favorite characters, he's just a lore and story dispenser, he has no personality outside that, and Varian was more patient with him than I would have been. It's sweet of Varian to go to him at the end of the episode but he didn't have to. There's a timing and a place for telling stories and it was definitely not in the middle of a race.

    I feel like this show is the epitome of good but flawed. The plot is interesting, and the songs are bangers to this day.
    But this show has a BIG problem with the morality of the characters. Cassandra especially could be a poster child of how NOT to write a villain, but she's given a slap on the wrist when she did WAY worse crimes than Varian even though he was IMPRISONED despite actually having believable and sympathetic motivations. Combined with the King's actions in the first season, it arguably teaches a "forgive toxic people" message when the movie was famous for acknowledging those same behaviors but also how you SHOULDN'T tolerate and forgive them, especially if they're not remorseful.

The fact that Cassandra kidnapped, stole the moonstone, teamed up with a literal demon, had the Demanitus scroll, almost killed Eugene, almost killed Rapunzel, threatened Varian. Cassandra DOES feel guilty from time to time but continues because she feels guilty though. Throughout the first half of Crossing The Line we see doubt all over her and she was even about to change her mind until Rapunzel told her to "wait", the ultimate trigger word for Cassandra. We see that she finds a painting of her and Rapunzel and looks really remorseful and Zhan Tiri shows up to talk her out of it. "I sense your guilt, Cassandra. After all she was your friend and you betrayed her. But one could argue she deserved it." And she tells her that Rapunzel has a bit of the Moonstone's power in her hair thereby making Cassandra not the complete owner of the Moonstone's power. That infuriates her becausr she has once again been put out of her "deserved spotlight" by Rapunzel. In the red rocks episode Rapunzel and Cassandra can sense each other and Cassandra looks conflicted for a moment before continuing. And this keeps happening.

      Yeah, especially in season one. I dislike her character for some episodes of the series. But, the main part where she was so oblivious, was when she helped Varian get the flower. • @Passions5555
      @Passions5555 Месяц назад

      @jcrow8472 The thing about stealing the dead flower is that deep down Rapunzel was looking for an excuse to find out what her father was hiding from her and when she decided to help Varian steal the flower, she was doing it just as much because she wanted to get to the bottom of her father's secrets/lies as she was to help Varian or even Corona too. I am not saying that Rapunzel was not manipulated by Varian or that she wasn't taken advantage of. But Varian is a not a good liar or actor and he was slipping up in front of her. She continued instead of calling it off because, my impression was that she really wanted to go all the way with it because of her issues with her Dad. I am a huge Rapunzel defender, but the thing about the sundrop theft incident, as unkind as this may sound, she was subconsciously using Varian to answer her own burning questions about the crap her Dad was pulling behind her back. I don't mean that Rapunzel activily used Varian the same way he used her, but when he proposed stealing the flower, even though she was reluctant, she did it because he offered a outlet for her distrust for her dad. And fair enough, Rapunzel's Dad was being shady AF.

      man she even treats varian like a monster for daring to go against her father and becoming a criminal, completely ignoring the fact he might not have had to do that in the first place if the king wasn't acting like a tyrant taking away any other options varian might have had. the thing about cassandra is that i really do believe that the intention for her character wasn’t to make her motive “omggg my mom chose you over me! even though you were literally ripped from your family i’m soo jealous!”
    rather, you can kind of see all the other more prominent reasons build up from season 2. its worth mentioning that her break out villain song “crossing the line” doesn’t talk about gothal at all. the issue is that after awhile they stop focusing on these things and trade it for more talk on gothal, seemingly because it was a crazy plot twist and they wanna exploit it. which just makes everything more confusing and her motives less clear? because from the start she had a few different reasons to go bad, and then the one most bratty sounding one got the spotlight.

    I totally agree with you about the comparison between seasons and season 2 is peak (all the double episodes that season are sooo good, even if the last one is a bit lacking focus imo). All the double length episodes in that season are so good, rivaled only by Cassandra's Revenge.

I get the point of the arc, friendship is strong and the conflict is more complicated than bad guy and good guy, not only the main character's desires should matter and so on. However, Cass attacked the kingdom and many of its people, she blocked Rapunzel in a cave to literally die from poison, she almost killed Eugene on his birthday, she acted hurt and betrayed that Rapunzel authorized the creation of a weapon against her right after all this and she continued being allies with Zhan Tiri after finding out who she really was. And for what? To not even have a message about how the true family is the people who love us (like her adoptive father instead of her biological mother who abandoned her)? To not have her make any amends and to leave on her own adventure while the people of Corona still have to rebuild the kingdom after her attack? To have her only say "sorry" on screen to Rapunzel and only after Zhan Tiri already took her powers? Yeah, great redemption for her, guys... I don't hate Cass, I still quite like her and she worked well as a villain, but they made her unbearably childish in those last episodes and it's too easy for the take away to be "just stick with your friends even when they hurt you, they will eventually stop being bad", they should have focused on anything else in that villain arc but Rapunzel's insistence that she can still get to her friend.
    My favorite character is actually Eugene, and I was very frustrated with how after season 1 he is relegated to just being a damsel in distress and emotional support for Rapunzel while she saves the day (actually that goes for every other character, maybe except Cassandra, it's very stupid how Rapunzel needs to be the sole hero 90% of the time; that's why I find the ghost sequence at the end of season 2 where Lance figures out the solution and everyone helps with implementing it to be so refreshing to see). We know from season 1 and the movie that Eugene actually has certain skills that should come in handy, but they just have him try to help and being easily defeated by the villain with magic and then Rapunzel has to free him. Even when villains aren't involved, he's still left behind by the narrative - for example, in the magical forest episode the point is that he has to swallow his pride and ask Adira for help despite him being someone who spent a lot of time in forests and usually being good at surviving in them. But anyway, I find him to be a sweet, funny and surprisingly layered character, he's someone who willingly left behind a life of thievery to be with someone he loves, but now he has issues finding his place and purpose in Corona. I think the show did a great job at exploring the way he sees his past (minus the fact that he is the prince of another kingdom, that part goes completely ignored after the episode in which it's revealed) and I liked how they made him grow into the role of the Captain of the Royal Guard, it was a fitting and poetic arc for him. I really like that they gave him a bestfriend, Lance was a great addition, and his interactions with his father are so fun to watch. His relationship with Rapunzel is so sweet too, I love it so much, and I really like how they had a few clumsy attempts at proposing through the show and they could just get over them without unnecessary drama, then they had that perfect proposal at the end.
    It's not a perfect series. It keeps itself too child oriented sometimes (oh, how I hate Shorty as a character with all the kiddy jokes), it has some clear biases when it comes to certain characters and some episodes really don't have good jokes or a very interesting plot so they are boring. However it has so many charming characters with distinct personalities, their friendships feel real despite (or maybe thanks to) all their banter, Cassandra fit into the main cast very well as a foil for Rapunzel and some of the character focused episode rival the plot heavy ones in entertainment. I really liked the way they built upon the simple lore of the movie, the sun drop and moonstone duality really worked for me, though sometimes I wished it was something more complementary and less "one is good and the other is evil". The art style and animation are beautiful, especially during later action scenes. There some really memorable shots in this with great framing (the first Wither and Decay sequence is probably one of my favorite in the whole show). The songs are all enjoyable and some of them are so good I keep listening to them (Ready As I'll Ever Be is probably peak but I love other songs as well), and the voices in the duo songs fit so well together. The vocal performances are so good all around, with Jeremy Jordan as Varian (whom I was surprised to find out played Lucifer in Hazbin Hotel too) and Zachary Levi as Eugene being the highlights for me.
    I really hope more people will give it a shot because I genuinely think is one of the best Disney shows, even if it doesn't reach the level of something like Gravity Falls or The Owlhouse it's still a very good time.

    After watching this, I agree with your views of the show. Especially with the Cass villain/redemption arc. I mean I love Cassadra really much as a character, but her motivations in S3 weren't good to say at least. I know she was like you said ,,being delucional,, but really to say that everything bad you do is your destiny and then Rapunzel forgiving her for everything she does just because they were friends for a long time felt wrong.
    And yeah, I just want to say I'm happy that you watched the whole series and that you like it too! 😅

    2:23 EXACTLY, I still don't understand how they put 14 y.o. kid in a prison for a year and then let an adult (Cass), who did also a lot of horrible things to the kingdom go. Corona's criminal system is quite weird

    I think a big problem with Cass’s arc is that it goes on for too long for the “she’s being overcame by emotions” thing they were going for to work.
    Your telling me she’s been sitting alone doing nothing for about a year doing NOTHING and she hasn’t once, even passively went over her emotions as a full grown adult whose been shown to be capable of it. I would be more willing to accept it if they said smt like “the moonstone is corrupting her” but they don’t!
    Varian by comparison, has been alone for months, is a hormonal teenager, recently orphaned, and still has the sense to realize he’s the bad guy (although he doesn’t realize how terrible his actions really are). The show set a standard and just didn’t go through with it.
    I really like season 2, a lot of my favorite moments come out of it, but to me I couldn’t figure out why they were still going on the journey.
    After Vardaros, Adira basically said “yeah the black rocks are cool now since they found the Sundrop” okay? Then why are we still heading to the dark kingdom. They should have just gotten rid of that thread since Rapunzel being able to touch the rocks doesn’t add anything to the plot.
    What I would have done to fix the pacing in season 2 is to put the make Hector the villain of the later half of season 2. It makes no sense to introduce a character in the mid season finale who theoretically should be important but never use them again.

    • @aromaladyellie
      @aromaladyellie 2 месяца назад

      I think your first complaint would have been fixed if the show showed that every time Cass would try to mull over her emotions like an adult, Zhan Tiri would put a stop to it because she needs Cass angry and full of hate and spite. It's important to keep in mind Zhan Tiri is supposed to be basically an abuser, just like Gothel, and she is supposed to be the corrupting force. The show needed to spend more time on that angle to make Cass's warpath thing more believeable.

    I agree, totally about Cassandra’s ending. I was only watching through clips and songs, but I had fully accepted her as a villain, who wasn’t going to get a redemption, and despite her being one of my favorite characters, I was super down for that. Having Rapunzel insist that she didn’t mean it until She had no choice but to work with her old friend really made it feel like Cass didn’t have a choice. which was sort of the big issue to begin with? It really took away her agency as a character.

    YEEEESSS!! I agree with everything you said about the show. I enjoyed Season 1, don’t get me wrong, but there were so many filler episodes. And we were all itching to get to the plot. Season 2 and parts of Season 3 were top notch! My favorite episodes had to be at the end of Season 2 where they were trapped in the house and had to find the missing piece of the scroll along with the reveal of Eugene’s heritage and Cass’s betrayal. I especially agree with what you said about Cass’ betrayal. It was very poorly written in my opinion. Like I don’t mind Cass turning on Rapunzel, but the motivation of being Gothel’s daughter was so stupid. Rapunzel didn’t ask to be kidnapped, she even said so herself in the show, and I hated how she was letting Cass slide time and time again throughout the show. I think it would’ve been better if Rapunzel realized that their friendship is just too toxic and they’re better off going their separate ways. Plus like I said, the whole thing about Cass being Gothel’s daughter was just stupid. It made no sense. I’m not even kidding, I’ve spoken to friends and my sister, who weren’t into the show and have only seen the movie maybe once or twice, about this plotline, and even they were like “Wait…what?? How does that even work?? She was old in the movie!!”

    I love TTS I really do! Especially Varian (as you can tell). But Cass' villain arc could've been so much more interesting. I think that if they really leaned into the whole "Waiting in the Wings" thing about feeling second best would've been better than leaning into the whole "Gothel Chose you" Thing. I see how it ties in but it falls flat.
    Also, Varian, A CHILD was put into prison for a year because of something he did because he wanted help. It was right but he was still a kid. Cass on the other hand is a full on adult and she can Rome and do whatever she pleases.

      i fully agree. i don’t like how cass kept bringing up gothel as if that was her motive. it was obviously being overlooked and never being enough. at least she said it in plus est en vous, though, when she said to rapunzel, “i want you to know what it feels like to fall short despite your best efforts. i want you and the rest of the world to know that i come second to /no-one/.” (i think that’s how it went)
      but tbh the fact that they dragged out cass’s villain arc for the entire season, and that she was only redeemed in the last episode kinda felt wrong to me, idk.
      also corona’s justice system is shit. i mean, eugene almost got hung for stealing the crown, lady caine’s father most likely hung too for being a petty thief, varian, a 14 year old being locked up in a cell with an adult, terrorist, and manipulator for a full year, and then cass, being the princess’s best friend, free to go with no charges. ofc, it is possible that it was exile, but really?

    • @nabd341
      @nabd341 2 месяца назад

      @@onceuponahair20 yeah no I fully agree with you, it was really frustrating like I wanted to sympathize with the “she’s her whole life second to raps and underestimated” but like she still had a lot of opportunities that she wouldn’t have had without raps and like you said even with that you can’t carry it for an entire season and keep it sympathetic because it just gets more and more ridiculous. I swear like cass’s villain arc like I just felt sad when I saw her on screen not because of the betrayal or for the character but because it felt like mourning her you know cuz like that wasn’t cass! In Tangled, Rapunzel and Flynn’s love is powerful, profound, and pure. They risk everything for each other-Rapunzel sacrifices her safety and her freedom to save Flynn, and Flynn, in turn, risks his life to save her. They both show an immense amount of devotion and bravery, and it feels like they’ve already gone through the most intense, life-changing experiences that any couple could go through in a short period of time. After all that, the idea of rejecting Flynn’s proposal, especially in the context of their emotional arc in the film, just feels completely out of place. It's almost as if the movie sets up this amazing, enduring love only for it to be treated as something less in the series.
    The movie's emotional weight and the way it portrays their love-how they’re willing to sacrifice anything for each other-completely clashes with the series’ version of their relationship, where Rapunzel suddenly views marriage as a "prison" or where their love seems to be doubted and weakened after just a few months. That makes no sense at all, especially considering how the movie concludes with them ready to build a life together. It’s like the depth and passion of their connection was suddenly erased by the series, and that’s why it feels so jarring.
    the series gives the impression that love is fleeting or easily undermined, which contradicts everything that was built up in the movie. If Rapunzel truly loved Flynn that much, as she did in the movie, it would make no sense for her to reject him, especially after all that they went through together. The idea that she could feel unsure about their relationship just after everything they’ve been through feels like a disservice to the strength of their bond in the original story.
    And it’s incredibly frustrating that so many people accept the series as “canon” when it feels so disconnected from what was established in the movie. It's not just about personal preference; it's about how disrespectful it feels to take something as heartfelt and emotionally significant as Tangled and reduce it to something that feels forced or insincere.
    Tangled is such a beautifully crafted film, with a romance that’s genuine, heartfelt, and full of growth. It's a story about two people who find each other and create something deeply meaningful. Flynn and Rapunzel’s love is real and powerful, and they’re willing to make sacrifices for each other-culminating in that beautiful proposal at the end of the movie, where Flynn asks Rapunzel to be his partner for life. That’s what makes the movie such an emotional and satisfying journey.
    And then the series comes along, and it messes with that foundation. The whole idea of marriage being “prison,” as portrayed in the show, completely undermines everything that makes Tangled's love story so special. The idea that marriage is a trap when, in reality, it’s a symbol of commitment, partnership, and mutual respect, is frustrating. Especially when you consider that in the context of the time period the story is set in (and even now, in terms of emotional commitment), marriage is not about losing one’s freedom-it’s about choosing to be with someone you love, and choosing to create a life together.
    The traditional story of Rapunzel (whether you go with Basile’s version or Grimms’ adaptation) is about love and freedom-freedom to choose your own path and your own happiness, which ultimately, for Rapunzel, is about being with her prince. Marrying him is how she gains freedom. It's not a prison; it's a means to build a future. So, when the series flips that concept on its head, it can feel like a betrayal to the spirit of the original tale and the film's message. It diminishes the power of commitment and love by turning it into something negative.

    I watched this years ago with some reluctancy since I don’t usually watch shows my friends beg me to sit down for. Usually they don’t see eye to eye with what I like. But this show and one other (The Owl House) are the exceptions, thanks to a friend who actually agreed with shows that I liked at the time. I really did like the season 1 plot and I knew about Cass’s betrayal going in so that wasn’t much of a hit with me personally. Varian’s arc was much better handled in my opinion and the imprisonment would’ve made better sense if later Cass was at least subjected to the same thing. The final season being dragged on the way it was felt exhausting. It’s still a good show in the end, but it has some major touch ups that probably should’ve been reviewed.

    Tangled the Series has been my obsession for the last several months now, I've watched it through multiple times, and while some of my opinions differ from yours, overall, I agree. I do think that the show peaked with season two, fell off a little with season three but that season one was generally the least enjoyable. Varian's villain arch was the best part of the storytelling for me, but when it comes to overall enjoyment, season two tends to be my go-to (except the island arch and vardaros - for me personally, I didn't enjoy them sticking around in one place for so long in the journey season, but hey, that's just an opinion).
    There are some places where the show does just frustrate me - how drawn out Cassandra's villain arch was and how it relies on ignoring a major aspect of her character (her reluctance to trust or get close to anyone (in this case, Zhan Tiri)) in order to work, the fact that the note Quirin wrote when he was trapped in the amber amounts to literally nothing, etc - but ultimately, for me, those imperfections are part of why I'm so obsessed with it. I like thinking about how all the plot holes or inconsistencies or unexplained things (why the mindtrap exists, who founded the brotherhood, contact me if you want a short essay on why moonstone!Varian is kinda sorta possibly canon) could be filled in, the ideas it generates for me, and while I don't think I'd give the show an objective five stars, I do love it.
    (the joke of sticking my hands in the plot holes and saying "Look! It has pockets!" comes to mind. All the more reason for me to write fanfiction!)

    I think it would be interesting if you made a video about the double standards of secondary love interests. Eugene had Stallion and Cassandra had ManBun Guy. But Rapunzel fell in love with the first man she ever saw and was never presented with a viable second option.

    My only problems with this series are:
    Lance never had a real Moment,he only did joke and that's much of it
    Why Red and Angry are everywhere in s3? don't get me wrong i love them but why should Rapunzel should take two children in the fucking Cassandra's tower, why? They didn't even do anything
    I am ok with Cassandra villain arc,her motivation,her redemption and even her ending. My only problem is that her and Rapunzel continued to make peace then fight again over and over and over.Cassandra should have return to Rapunzel much earlier,like in ep 18.NOT FREAKING 21
    but overall,i love this series.problably an unpopular opinion but this series is the peak as Gravity falls,Owl house, Amphibia and Steven Universe

      Lance had a good moment in Destinies Collide, he was the one figuring out how to stop the ghosts, but yes, I agree he was underutilized as anything else than a comedic character (even Eugene says to Lance in that episode "This is the first and the last time I'll say it, but you're a genius" and it's kind funny but also kinda shows that the writers had no intention to ever use Lance for anything significant ever again. My best guess for why the girls were there in Cassandra's Revenge is that they wanted a reason to keep Lance out of the action in a funnier way because I agree, bringing them along was weird (I know one of them could turn into a werewolf, but they are still kids with no connection to Cassandra). I also agree that Cassandra should have been back to the good side earlier to get a mini-redemption arc instead of having her leave Rapunzel for dead in A Tale of Two Sisters and still getting instantly forgiven lol, Zhan Tiri was a strong enough villain to be the sole threat in the finale.

    I just hope that in the movie of Shrek 5, once Disney buys DreamWorks, all The Official Disney Princes and all The Official Disney Princesses appear, especially the most important character in the movie of The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, Melody, The Daughter of Prince Eric and Princess Ariel, with her best friends Zephyr, Tip, Dash, Kiera and Catalina, and besides, they will be the new main characters of the movie of Shrek 5 so that they help Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey, Dragon, Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws, Perrito, Dulcinea, The Three Diablos, Goldilocks, The Three Bears, Prince Lancelot, Princess Tiffany, King Artie, Princess Guinevere, The Children of Shrek and Princess Fiona: Fergus, Farkle and Felicia, The Children of Donkey and Dragon: Bananas, Parfait, Peanut, Eclair, Coco and Debbie and The Others to defeat Rumpelstiltskin, Death, Drizella Tremaine, all The Official Villains of Disney and all The Official Villains of DreamWorks, as Queen Grimhilde, Lady Tremaine, Captain Hook, Hades, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Marina del Rey, Ursula, Gaston LeGume, Jafar, John Ratcliffe, Shan Yu, Yzma, Dr. Facilier, Zhan Tiri, Judge Claude Frollo, Mother Gothel, Tamatoa, Drago Bludvist, Grimmel The Grisly, Mor'du, King Runeard, Prince Hans, Pitch Black, Dr. Zara, Queen Nerissa, King Magnifico, Rapunzel (Shrek) and Morgana, and to prevent Rumpelstiltskin, Death, all The Official Villains of Disney and all The Official Villains of DreamWorks from ruling and destroying all The Multiverse Forever, especially The Kingdom of Far Far Away, Shrek along with his wife named Princess Fiona will need help from their new friends which are all The Official Disney Princes and all The Official Disney Princesses, as Prince Florian, Princess Snow White, Prince Charming, Princess Cinderella, The Baker, Anastasia Tremaine, Prince Philip, Princess Aurora, Prince Eric, Princess Ariel, Prince Adam, Princess Belle, Prince Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Prince John Smith, Princess Pocahontas, Prince Li Shang, Princess Fa Mulan, Prince Naveen, Princess Tiana, Prince Flynn Rider, Princess Rapunzel, Varian, Cassandra, Maui, Queen Moana Waialiki, Hiccup Haddock, Princess Merida, Kristoff Bjorgman, Queen Anna, Jack Frost, Princess Elsa, Miguel Rivera, Princess Raya, Walter Beckett, Princess Mirabel Madrigal, Jin, Yi, Connor, Ruby Gillman, Starboy, Princess Asha, Mateo, Queen Elena, Prince Desmond, Princess Amber, Prince James, Princess Isabel, Prince Hugo, Princess Sofia, Namaari, The Futuristic Four, The Other Six Princesses of The Kingdom of Atlantica and Melody, but actually, Melody is The First and Only that she is not a True Official Disney Princess, because Melody made her debut in the movie of The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea and it is also because she is The First and Only Daughter of an Official Disney Princess, but Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey, Dragon, Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws, Perrito, Dulcinea, The Three Diablos, Goldilocks, The Three Bears, Prince Lancelot, Princess Tiffany, King Artie, Princess Guinevere, The Children of Shrek and Princess Fiona: Fergus, Farkle and Felicia, The Children of Donkey and Dragon: Bananas, Parfait, Peanut, Eclair, Coco and Debbie and The Others also need Melody's help to protect and save all The Multiverse, especially Their Kingdom of Far Far Away away from Rumpelstiltskin, Death, all The Official Villains of Disney and all The Official Villains of DreamWorks, because Melody is The Daughter of Prince Eric and Princess Ariel, but also The Death of Queen Lillian, because since her husband named King Harold passed away in the movie of Shrek 3, she has felt heartbroken and that caused her own death in her Kingdom of Far Far Away, and all The Inhabitants of The Kingdom of Far Far Away are saddened by The Death of Queen Lillian, because now she is with her husband named King Harold in heaven, and now they have lost their queen, that means now The Kingdom of Far Far Away needs a new queen and King Artie said that his love interest, girlfriend, fiancée and former classmate from Worcestershire school called Princess Guinevere would be the one to be The New Queen of Far Far Away, so King Artie decided to return to his old school called Worcestershire along with Shrek, with his older cousin Princess Fiona, with Donkey, with Dragon, with Puss in Boots, with Kitty Softpaws, with Perrito, with Dulcinea, with The Three Diablos, with Goldilocks, with The Three Bears, with The Children of Shrek and Princess Fiona: Fergus, Farkle and Felicia, with The Children of Donkey and Dragon: Bananas, Parfait, Peanut, Eclair, Coco and Debbie and with the Others to meet again with their friends from their school who are actually Prince Lancelot, Princess Tiffany and his love interest, girlfriend and fiancée Princess Guinevere to take them back to his Kingdom of Far Far Away, and also The Romance of all The Official Disney Princes and all The Official Disney Princesses, especially The Romance of Maui and Queen Moana Waialiki, The Romance of Hiccup Haddock and Princess Merida, The Romance of Jack Frost and Princess Elsa, The Romance of Varian and Cassandra, The Romance of Starboy and Princess Asha, The Romance of Prince Lancelot and Princess Tiffany and The Romance of King Artie and Princess Guinevere, because I think that Maui will be Queen Moana Waialiki's love interest, boyfriend and fiancé, while Hiccup Haddock will be Princess Merida's love interest and boyfriend, Princess Tiffany will be Prince Lancelot's love interest, girlfriend and fiancée and Princess Guinevere will be King Artie's love interest, girlfriend and fiancée, because Queen Moana Waialiki is going to fall in love with Maui, Princess Merida is going to fall in love Hiccup Haddock, Princess Tiffany is going to fall in love with Prince Lancelot and Princess Guinevere is going to fall in love with King Artie, but they don't know how to tell them their feelings towards them and neither how to win their hearts, because every time Queen Moana Waialiki gets too close to Maui when it comes to true love, she gets very nervous with him, while which in the case of Princess Merida is also the same, because whenever Princess Merida gets too close to Hiccup Haddock when it comes to true love, she also gets very nervous with him, in the case of Princess Tiffany it is also the same, because whenever Princess Tiffany gets too close to Prince Lancelot when it comes to true love, she also gets very nervous around him, and in the case of Princess Guinevere too, because every time Princess Guinevere gets too close to King Artie when it comes to true love, she also gets very nervous around him, but luckily for them, Princess Fiona will help Queen Moana Waialiki to win The Heart of Maui, also Princess Merida to win The Heart of Hiccup Haddock, also Princess Tiffany to win The Heart of Prince Lancelot and also Princess Guinevere to win The Heart of King Artie, and I also want that Jack Frost will be Princess Elsa's love interest and boyfriend and Varian will be Cassandra's love interest and boyfriend, because Jack Frost leaves fall in love with Princess Elsa, but he doesn't know how to tell her his feelings and how to win her heart, because every time Jack Frost gets too close to Princess Elsa when it comes to true love, he gets very nervous with her, because Varian leaves fall in love with Cassandra, but he doesn't know how to tell her his feelings and how to win her heart, because every time Varian gets too close to Cassandra when it comes to true love, he gets very nervous with her, but fortunately for they, Shrek will help Jack Frost to win The Heart of Princess Elsa and also Varian to win The Heart of Cassandra, except Melody, The Daughter of Prince Eric and Princess Ariel, because she doesn't need a love interest, but also The Rivalry of King Artie and Queen Anna because they both want to compete in a challenge to see who is The Best Ruler of a Kingdom, because both want to do what is best for Their Own Kingdom, because King Artie wants to do the best for his Kingdom of Far Far Away because now he is The New King of Far Far Away and Queen Anna wants to do the best for her Kingdom of Arendelle because now she is The New Queen of Arendelle, but at the end, King Artie and Queen Anna become best friends in the world, because at the end, they both learned from their mistakes that they have made since their challenge to compete to see who is the best ruler of a Kingdom, and that at the end, King Artie and Princess Guinevere see their first true love kiss and that they become a romantic couple, just like Prince Lancelot and Princess Tiffany, and also that at the end of the movie of Shrek 5, Shrek becomes The New Leader of The Official Disney Princes and Maui, Hiccup Haddock, Kristoff Bjorgman, Jack Frost, Varian, Jin, Connor, The Baker, Starboy, Mateo, Prince Desmond, Prince James, Prince Hugo, Prince Lancelot and King Artie become The New Official Members of The Official Disney Princes, while Princess Fiona becomes The New Leader of The Official Disney Princesses and Queen Anna, Princess Elsa, Cassandra, Yi, Ruby Gillman, Anastasia Tremaine, Princess Asha, Queen Elena, Princess Amber, Princess Isabel, Princess Sofia, Goldilocks, Namaari, The Other Six Princesses of The Kingdom of Atlantica, Princess Tiffany and Princess Guinevere become The New Official Members of The Official Disney Princesses and that one day, Princess Tiffany will be The Wife of Prince Lancelot and that they have a family in the future, and that also Princess Guinevere is The Wife of King Artie, that they also have a family and that she becomes The New Queen of Far Far Away in The Future.

    The only thing I will never understand is why Disney decided to cancel that spin off comic about Varian like what? I WOULD PROBABLY READ OR WATCH IT and could've been a perfect opportunity to know more about Varian. (but of course, they canceled it because they think Varian overshadows Rapunzel if they approved that which wouldn't be the case because not everyone watched the series and etc.)
    My theory is the reason why Cass didn't get a punishment for her wrongdoings is because she is the "adoptive daughter" of the Captain of the Guards but eitherway, I don't think it's a fair reason for them not to imprison Cassandra when they imprisoned Varian because he only wants his father to be free from that chemical compound that he made, being "betrayed" by Rapunzel and so on which made Varian's mental state being unstable. I don't hate Cass but her whole arc is just rushed and you can tell that Season 3 could've been a great season if the creators actually researched more about Cassandra's whole character throughout the previous seasons because after so many years, I still refuse to believe that the main cause on why she betrayed Rapunzel is all because of the fact that Gothel "chose" Rapunzel over her when it's not even the case. I mean, Season 2 has Waiting in the Wings (a great song that basically explains her POV better) and could've been the perfect main reason for her betrayal but nope, they wasted it and pointed it out to Gothel "choosing" Rapunzel and neglecting her own daughter.
    Season 2 is a great season except for the island episodes because I personally think those episodes added nothing to the plot.

    if I'm being honest, finding out (sorry if I butter his name :( ) Gugen was a prince was a shocker. I had my mouth open the entire scene just utterly shocked. But finding out Cass was the real traitor all along made sense to me. We got to see her past; how Mother Gothel chose Rapunzel over her is heartbreaking. Cass, in my opinion, made a descent villain for season three. She was treated and easily manipulated by the real villain of the season and it just worked and she grew as a character along with Rapunzel.

      @@Yams-Hams7734and they started assassinating her character throughout season 2. Her character arc came full circle in season one. And even though she has the most important job a guard could have, being an escort/bodyguard (because the closer you are to royalty, the higher you are on the hierarchy scale) but she felt “overshadowed” by her bestie. Like what? Rapunzel is royalty, she’s going to overshadow everybody lol. Cass ain’t special. Cass’s problems are that she has main character syndrome and mommy issues. And that’s all she was reduced to throughout season three. So no, she didn’t drop everything to go with Rapunzel on this quest. If anything, being her personal bodyguard is a promotion. So Cassandra still got exactly what she wanted and an adventure where she can flaunt her sword fighting skills all she wants, gets more action, and gets paid handsomely to do so. What her complaint? What did she drop? So she’d rather just stand around the castle and keep an eye on valuables and stand by the gate or doorway where there isn’t as much action? That’s everything she dropped to have the best job any guard could have to go on an adventure with her bestie.
      It would’ve made more sense if she was questioning whether she wanted to be a guard after all or if she was offered to work somewhere else and had to choose whether to stay working with Rapunzel or some other royals. And they should’ve stayed with the whole possession by Zhan Tiri plot as her reason for betraying Rapunzel. That would’ve made her sympathetic over just suddenly remembering her past trauma and making her go nuts. That’s not how brainwashing works. Because trauma doesn’t make you suddenly stupid and go nuts for a year. Not that I’m downplaying Cassandra’s trauma because that is the type of thing that can stick with you throughout adulthood and Cassandra would have every right to be sad and angry over it. BUT while being a crappy human being doesn’t invalidate your problems, it doesn’t give you the go ahead to hurt others. Cassandra is just dumb.

    Man you must have a super high tolerance for filler episodes and stories that focus on unimportant side characters. I was practically pulling my hair out watching season 2. I stayed because the overall plot was still good and interesting but it felt like such a slog to get through. And in the end, I felt like Cassandra's reasons for turning on Rapunzel were all just a super contrived misunderstanding and that if they both could have been more reasonable and talked it out that it never would have happened. I enjoyed the show overall, but stuff like that was super frustrating to me. I liked season 1 and all the mysteries it introduced, but the answers to those questions were not what I was expecting--sometimes that was a good thing, but most of the time it just came across as kind of weird and out of nowhere. Idk it's a pretty good show, but the writing could have used some work imo.

    The series is just as bad if not worse than MLB. And Chris Sonnenburg might as well be Thomas Astrucs doppelgänger. First of all. None of the characters learn anything especially Rapunzel. The lore makes no sense. The main characters are cruel. The world building is all over the place. The characters were assassinated in the stupidest way possible. The lessons are botched poorly. The villains are lame and their motives make zero sense. The characters are hypocrites. And the ending is just so unsatisfying. The only thing I loved about the series were music, the potential (which sadly was never met in anyway), and Varian especially since he is voiced by my favorite singer/actor Jeremy Jordan. Even Varian’s character was assassinated but not to a unlikable degree and it sucks that so much of his potential and lore was dropped for a more watered down version of him, Cassandra. Chris Sonnenburg also spent more time arguing and bullying fans online and even wrote how he felt victimized over criticisms through the characters the same way Thomas Astruc did rather than actually spending the energy on the writing. This show became just as disappointing as the MLB series. Not to mention, there is too much telling and not enough showing. As the number one in story writing is ‘show don’t tell’. And most of the seasons were filler that had NOTHING to do with the story. The writers just didn’t know what stories they wanted to tell. Like only around three or four episodes in each season had something to do with the story.

      Yeah I regret watching the series. I like movie version of her way better. The writers messed up Raps’ character in the series.

      @@jonelrobinson582yeah pretty much. And just like how thomas has marinette weaseled into every episode that had zero to do with her or shouldn’t have anything to do with her, they did the same to Rapunzel. Even when there are episodes that should be about other characters, they squeeze rapunzel into every single one. Even when she had a kingdom to run, they made her this busy body sticking her nose into everybody’s lives and call it her being “responsible”.
      They made her a Mary Sue basically. The characters just weren’t even characters. Just blank canvases that Thoma-I mean-Chris painted his creepy world views on. Sorry, I get the two creators mixed up. I miss movie Rapunzel. I wasn’t a fan of her in the movie either but at least she had an eagerness to learn about the world around her and have some actual growth. They basically turned her into a bossy, bratty, bully with a “nice” veneer. I’m sticking with fan fiction once again.

    • @ashebennett7726
      @ashebennett7726 2 месяца назад

      @@KeefeSencen1543why? It’s true. Because after so many reviews, I’ve realized the similarities not just with the creators, but the modern day feminists ideology written by men who claim to be feminists, the story and the characters especially the FL. Rapunzel is actually about as bad as marinette.

    • @ashebennett7726
      @ashebennett7726 2 месяца назад

      Just like with MLB, TTS have failed narrative promises. Both Rapunzel and Marinette should be loved by EVERYONE and if you don’t love them then you’re baaad. That’s one thing I’ve noticed about both of these characters is people who don’t like Marinette or Rapunzel are villains. If you’re not willing to kiss their arses even though they’ve done nothing to be deserving of being leaders and are allowed to screw you over many times without any accountability or even so much as apologize for it, you’re the bad guy, not them. And they have lessons they need to learn only for them to never learn them at all. They either learn some unrelated ‘lesson’ that wasn’t established, or they wind up ‘teaching’ the opposite lesson to a different character thereby rewarding them for their bad behavior. Just like MLB, TTS is frustrating to watch because they don’t deliver these narrative promises.

    I haven't seen the show but Shera is very similar in how the main character continues to forgive Ketara again, and again, and again. Ketara continues to show remorse and it's not until she's finally climbed to the top and realizes she's never going to be in power, that she does the right thing.
    I think it wasn't the best way to go about it but fans of the show seem to love it. Is this similar?

    • @TheCanderemy
      @TheCanderemy 2 месяца назад +1

      *Catra
      And I think this is a bit similar. Both Cass and Catra go against their friends for emotional and selfish reasons (though understandable-- trauma, abuse, and being dismissed by the ones they love), and there comes a point where they realize they are wrong BUT one thinks she's gone too far to stop or be forgiven and the other knows that she will be forgiven anyway. So instead of trying to be better and apologising, they stick to their guns.
      With Catra, she realizes that what she thought she wanted (power) wasn't what she wanted at all. She just wanted to be loved and valued but in chasing power (the way she was taught how to earn these things), she has pushed everyone that ever loved her away. The reason why she joined the good guys is because she realized that even if she became the most powerful, it would mean nothing to her and would just cause more hurt to everyone and herself. She didn't actually enjoy hurting people. She would accept any punishment, even sacrificing herself, to try and make up for it.
      For Cass, she realizes that Zhan Tiri was just using her for her own means. This is what makes her want to be friends with Raps again, but the apology goes south when Zhan Tiri sabotages the event, making Cass think that Raps had tried to kill her. This is very hypocritical of her, seeing as she tried to kill Raps multiple times. She becomes even more convinced that she is right to be a villain and only tries to be good again when her powers are taken away from her by Zhan Tiri. She teams up with Raps only when she had no other choice.
      Of the two of them, I think Cass' descent to darkness and redemption was handled way more poorly than Catra's

      Actually, it was a spin off comic not a show but yeah. The reason for it is still fucking stupid like so what if Varian's a side character? That's a messed up reason ngl.

    Imagine if they rewrote the season 3 arc, instead of Cass betraying her, but have Eugene betray her, not to go against her but to save her from himself and the dark kingdom? That honestly would be more tragic than whatever nonsense Cass's was about. Cass's arc was too predictable, and the amount of times she gets so pushy about Rapunzel thinking she can't handle herself always rubbed me the wrong way.
    If you think about it, Cass reminds me a lot of Vaggie in Hazbin Hotel. Now that I think about it Charlie is the parallel to Rapunzel as well.
    And just to had to that Varien is voiced by the same actor that voices Lucifer. It still shocks me to this day.

      But yes I agree what you said. For me season one was slow but once I got to the last episode of season one I was hooked. Season 2 was AMAZING season 3 was good but not as good as season 2. I didn’t like how Rapunzel did not stop caring about Cass and how Cass didn’t want anything to do with her…. It was like a toxic relationship. I know Rapunzel doesn’t give up on people but sometimes you need to and I did not like how she went back in time to change Eugene POV when he told her to let go of Cass. He was RIGHT she needed to move on and put her kingdom first
