What a combination. The film and poem made me feel sick seeing and hearing them individually but together creates something on another level. Gave me a horrible feeling I can't say I've felt more than a handful of times in my life, which I suppose speaks to the piece of art you have made. Incredibly well done, thanks for letting me tap into such a visceral feeling
I have been a soldier in 3 conflicts, I hoped I would never have to be involved in another one but we are heading in that direction at a very slow but determined pace. The boots just keeping moving up and down.
Who is "we"? There is no way Europeans are fighting another war. Especially not against eachother. That spirit is long gone, and the vestiges of it died with WW2.
I like to think this poem as the thought process of a soldier who is realizing he has died and has been sent to hell. That line about how there’s no fire, dark or devils. No one even shooting at him that we know. Just the endless marching of boots trudging on and on towards….who even knows.
Thanks, this was the scariest thing I've seen in a while. My hands are actually shaking while typing this. Good job. I am impressed. It takes a lot to send chills like this down my spine. I love it.
This is fucking amazing, I was worried it would be one of those cringe edits that completely miss the point of the movie, but this is amazing. What a great work
Couldn't agree more. I can only imagine that Klimov would appreciate something 21st century like this as it understands what he was trying to say. War is a horror film you cannot escape.
@@JimArdalUntil somebody finally decides to do a very long series on the Eastern Front, people will never know how massive it was, or how different it was. The Soviet Union also had totally unique equipment that we don't hear about at all, like the Soviet Flying Aircraft Carriers, or unique battles, like when Soviet Armored Trains went up against German Tank Divisions, or legendary battles like the lone Soviet KV-1 Tank that mounted an insane defense against four German Military Divisions, taking out at least one, deviating another, and stopping the other two for at least a day and a half before being taken out by a major offensive by an Infantry, Flack, and Tank Division; the crew of the Tank were all killed, we only know about it because of German Field Reports that detailed the fight, the entire Tank Crew was ordered buried in full military honors on the battlefield by the German Officers because of their insane defensive action against the German Military, the Tank was nicknamed "The Monster" by the Germans. Too much of this history is left obscure to many people.
@@noheroespublishing1907 You make a great point. @JimArdal It won't happen. The Anti-Communism around the World will prevent such a thing from functioning very well. It's kinda the problem with attempting to tell any meaningful story in the setting of the Soviet Union, at bottom everything has to be "Bad", no matter what the situation is, it is very rare to see Heroic portrayals of the Soviet Union in any media. The loss of the Soviet Union really leaves a gap in the Art World for Big Budget Films/Series set in the Soviet Union and dealing with that history, I mean, we don't even get good functional settings like that getting Big Budget Usage (the Union of Progressive Peoples in the Alien Series comes to mind). It's just a shame, because it would be beyond interesting.
Bone chilling in an unreal way. One of the most affecting things I've seen in a while. This is a true work of art. Well edited, too, with audio matching the video.
While it's important to promote antiwar narratives, most of the world chooses to ignore or satisfy the aggressor until it becomes their own problem. The key to true peace is a strong understanding of war (its terrible nature), what hate may grow into, and a strong army. To have a weapon in your house and pray to never use it
