Hi everyone, welcome to the channel! I would like to clarify a few things about how I wrote the guitar tab. I used the 1992 live performance of this song at Hammersmith Odeon to check the exact positions on the neck where Dave and Marty play the riffs. On the studio recording, Dave's part on the chorus is buried in the mix. All the tabs I saw (including the official one) never sounded right to me so I decided to check what he plays live. This is exactly what Dave played on the chorus at Hammersmith Odeon in 1992 which is the closest performance in time to the recording of the album. Dave then simplified the chorus riff around 1995, probably to avoid having to look at his neck while singing (you can check the difference on the live in Osaka in 1995). The way I tabbed Marty's part on the chorus is the way he plays it at Hammersmith Odeon. The whole melody is played entirely on the D string and every phrase starts with a palm muted low A (unlike what is written in the official songbook). For Marty's clean section before the twin-guitar harmony, I checked the fingerings he uses at Hammersmith Odeon and he plays everything down the neck but on the studio recording, you can clearly hear the slides before each A note, so I decided to write the tabs according to what I hear on the record. Last but not least, for the twin-guitar harmony, I wrote it the exact way that Dave and Marty play it at Hammersmith (which differs from the songbook once again). I hope you enjoy the work I put in to provide you with the best possible tab that this great song deserves. Keep coming back for more videos. Cheers
that red KV-1 and the aqua rhoads you have are some of the nicest guitars I have ever laid my eyes on, awesome playing too, Ive got to learn that country interlude now
Thank you. They’re my favorite guitars among the ones I own. Yeah, that clean section and the twin guitar harmony that follows it are godly. Thanks for watching. 🤘
@@THEDAILYRIFF Whats the Kahler bridge like on the KV-1? I guess its purely for tuning stability, any reason why you think Mustaine opted for one over a standard bridge?
The Kahler bridge has a different feel under your palm than let’s say a Floyd Rose. It’s really comfortable for palm muting. Maybe that’s why Mustaine wanted them on his guitars. I also find they look killer and original on a KV.
KV1 is the US version, Dave's second signature. This is the rare special edition of his first signature instrument, the King V Pro. These were made in Japan at the height of Jackson's quality era.
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you like the video. I’ve watched the 1992 live performance of this song at the Hammersmith Odeon many times and in slomo just to make sure everything in this tab is played like Dave and Marty used to when they released the record. I’ve left a detailed note of the different sections that I’ve seen tabbed wrong in the past. I pinned this note on top of the comment section. You can compare the tabs to the 1992 live, it’s pretty spot on. Thanks for watching 🤘
Yeah, I agree. One of Megadeth’s finest moments. You’re welcome for the tab. I bought the official songbook for this record when I was a teenager. I can’t tell you how frustrated I was when I realized that a lot of things I had learned from it were inaccurate 😂 Thanks for watching 🤘
Growing up to single track songs and bad hal leonard books, then you came along. Thank you for that. Now I can correct all the parts I've been winging these years that made me doubtful.
So much better than the Songsterr version. I knew there’s no way you can go from the seven on the D to to the four and five on the G string that quickly. Thank you
