I have been so impressed that I couldn't stop talking to people on utube that enjoyed watching monkeys . They were on the bad / abusive channel that used the monkeys to preform , and do the show business as long as possible . When they weren't cute anymore they would get rid of them in some way . Those channels are incredibly discusting and horribly abusive . They didn't care about the monkeys at any time . I wanted to go through my tablet and do to those people what they were doing to those monkeys .
When I found your channel , I felt like I was in heaven . I loved how you took these monkeys and checked them out and , when it was time , started them on a step by step orientation back into a troop . I watched as possible mom's were watched closely to see if that adoption was going to be a good one . To watch those mom's with patients for the babies to be comfortable with each other .
Your organization is by far the best one I know of and it frustrates me that I'm not able to be part of it , to be physically there to be a surrogate until it's time to let go and be part of a troop .
I don't know if there is more I can do to help . I'm a disabled person in a wheelchair that barely gets enough to survive on financially . Animals of all kinds I somehow gain their trust very quickly . They are and always will be my friends and family .
Do you have any ideas what I could do to help the monkeys or the organization in general ?
I have unsubscribed to all other monkey videos. I don’t know if The Vervet Foundation is the only legitimate site or not but it is the only one I feel good about! Much success!

Kyle you’re an awesome commentator. The entire rescue crew is incredible. It’s impossible to have a 100% success rate with reintroduction of all of the orphans, but you’ve certainly given it your best. It’s a trial & error with each orphan’s personality. I’m impressed with your extraordinary success rate. You can’t predict wild animals nor control entire troop behavior, but by golly, you’re meeting the challenges as best you can. Many thanks to all the volunteers. Never allow negative comments to dissuade you from doing what you think is best. Viewers aren’t in the thick of things, as you are. I have a question are there many other species of monkeys who will be surrogate mom to orphans? It seems like when I watch the other videos for other species like long tail macaques they will kidnap but usually do more harm than good...the pig tail do seem more affectionate to other babies but still have yet to see one full on be a mom.
I know this video is a year old but I was hoping that maybe you still answer questions.

You guys have wonderful foster mothers. You can tell they love to foster the babies and they dont care how many they have. Another baby comes around and that baby gets pulled into waiting arms. Its wonderful to see that. Iv been watching a troup at angkor watt temple. Wow most of the mothers are horrible to their babies. Most are overweight too. Thank you for everthing you people do to help these animals. Im just curious do you let your females breed or are they fixed.
Cindy Julian Thanks Cindy. All of our males get vasectomies at 2.5 years of age. There are the occasional births that occur to some of the Bandits due to migrating males who hadn’t been around in the past and we haven’t been able to vasectomize. But our mission is care and rehabilitation not breeding 🙂

Does Hanna even have teeth? I get she’s biting, not good I guess but must be a gum job, no?
Kaidosbuddyagain Doberman lol, gum job. But yeah she’s got some serious teeth. Once their her age all their baby teeth are well in and they’re razor sharp, not like an adult obviously who’s got the massive k-9’s that do some serious damage, but it’s still not pleasant. It’s less of a puncture and more of just a sharp grinding and scraping on the skin, they can tear you up pretty good. Nothing life threatening, but it for sure makes you not want to grab them with your bare hands when they’re on a tirade.
Do vervets have nictitating membranes in their eyes? It looked that way in the closeup of one of the babies slowly falling asleep.
FilmerOfBobcats nah, lol but it totally looked that way! Those were just the very milk drunk eyes rolling into the back of the head of a young Benjamin. 🙂

Do the adult males readily tolerate the new babies that come into the troop and are not theirs?
In Vervet world they dont really know who the farther is, so males are not really much of a concern and dont seem to mind the babies at all, the females are also very protective and would pick up a baby monkey and carry it away

I'm wondering if a baby has ever been hurt or killed when introducing them to a new potential mother?It seems they accept them easily. And I don't mean this as a rude comment.Just wondering. Thanks for all you do.
Hannah or the Vampiress from the depths of hell. That loud, goat like, noise she makes would send me running. Do you have to deal directly with a monkey that would prefer to chew your flesh off your bones or does it help with Hannah the Vampiress mixes with other monkeys and sees that they aren't nibbling on human flesh? Basic question, when a monkey has some very destructive habits, do you all have to find a way to "fix" her biting, or does she learn not to bite by being around others monkeys?
Are these beautiful babies is part of Disney Land ? Are they not going to be re-homed to be out of the cages? I mean Disney Land.

You can't reunite timmy with his troop or mother?
Unfortunately no one saw the troop around. And there wasn't a troop that was commonly seen in the area. Also, it's so much more difficult to release a baby than a juvenile or adult. The babies won't just willingly run out to a troop even if its their own troop. The baby will sit and cry and wait for its mom. So with babies being released you have to be certain that its mom is around and you have to try to get the mom to come to the baby so you can be sure its the right female before you release it, otherwise the baby could easily be killed by another defensive mother or an aggressive male.
