As much as I enjoyed this video, and was introduced to Sugru, I was blown away at the tong idea of reaching your string light up higher. So innovative! I'm glad I found this!
haha as a vertically challenged person, tongs are used EVERYWHERE in my home when I am too lazy to get a step ladder out or Cirque du Soleil my way up the counter. I have this cleaning agent for my Zojirushi hot water boiler ruclips.net/video/Kh9yWUgckXs/видео.html that I need to reach once in a while, I put a rubber band around the container, so I can use my tongs to grab it. Works perfect.
Thanks for this. I'm a renter for the first time in decades. I now have a tiny patio and solar lights I've been carrying around forever. Everything here is cinder block and concrete, so it looks like Sugru is going to be my new go-to. Totally forgot about that stuff.
Well done - - - A while back I had an electrician install a plug panel in My eves so I can run those party lights and finish by plugging them in up high out of the way. It worked out so well.
Super job thanks for the tips. Wished I had a friend like you to come over and see my patio and have a tea. I have a lots of traffic whizzing by its quote noisy where I am right downtown. I'm still trying to figure out how to kill some of the sound. Take it easy.
yay :) I hope you enjoy your space as well! Space and creating your own little sanctuary is at a premium these days given the current situation. Dorothy said it best, there is no place like home!
It is! And winter just started and we had snow, tho my balcony is covered, and it still is. If your surface is clean before adhering, it's a new piece of tape and within the temperature parameters, you should be good
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing, and I'm excited to use your set up on my balcony to hang the string lights I bought. A question: how would I remove the sugru hook ultimately when it's time to leave my rental?
From the sugru site: simply slice it off with a knife, scalpel, or our Sugru remover. Then, scrape off any residue with your fingernail and wipe clean with a tissue. If it's on cement and porous it might leave a darker splotch stain if you have the black but if it's not going to be noticeable like my cement where it's splotchy color anyway it won't be noticeable
Sugru is malleable. I only used it because of the porous nature of cement and the irregular surface. If I had to do it over again, I'd have stuck a paperclip in the sugru or the hook wire of the small command hook IN the sugru (as noted in my updated description). I don't know what your situation is regarding the plants and your outdoor space, Sugru won't hold up that much weight on its own. I'd suggest the appropriate command hooks but even then, you have to use common sense and look at the weight limitations of the command hook tape. You wouldn't want a mess. If you go on my YT page, I made a RUclips short using the command hooks to hold up a planter off my ceiling INSIDE my home but it's very lightweight and it's air plants. It's been up for months no issues and I love it :)
I have a vinyl patio ceiling and I made the mistake of using the small string light hooks. The entire string came down. I’m gonna try the bigger ones and that epoxy thingy you used. Thanks for the info.
@@GadgetsGearCoffee thanks found a good video . I can use my porch light to attach in a plug adapter plug my Christmas lights in while also having my porch 💡 attached.

This has been EXTREMELY helpful!! Thank you! I wonder if I could use this method(sugru) for hanging plants? 🤔 what do you think?

I still don’t know how I should connect it to the power 😣
... you need an outlet... like anything else that requires power

What kind of chair is that?
They're called Acapulco chairs. Lots of replicas online, just make sure to get a good quality one. Some don't have nice or tight weaving, etc
