- GCSE vs IGCSE (the REAL differences)
A lot of students around the world sit IGCSE exams and here in the UK the vast majority of students sit GCSE exams but what is the difference between the two?

the only difference is that the people in the papers are called Omar and Fatima instead of John and Mary
😂
dumbest comment I've ever read but ok
@@falconxfortnite6768it's a joke
@@takemetothelakes13 I know

also, you don't get non-calc papers in igcse maths, all papers are with calc
Starting from 2025, non-calculator papers will be there
@@M4D_H4TT3R holy shit, I am the luckiest man alive
@@M4D_H4TT3R And here I am, writing in 2026...
I'm currently a 9th grader. I'll be taking O-level examination in 2024 (October-November), and A-level in 2025 (October-November), any tips for the examination and studying? =^=
@@M4D_H4TT3R you got course books for the subjects? If you do you should study from it rather than notes, and you should also do topic wise questions it should help you
Basically study 1 topic and then do a topic wise question on that chapter
Finally someone explained it properly !! Thanks alot!
I think there is a difference between these two papers this is based on my experience and the differences are the types of question and how they are set and how they are worded it makes a massive difference
sciences in igcse are. a bit harder. but that’s bc that’s the only igcse we did and we didn’t have other igcses 😂😂, english is way easier in igcses and then i had arabic stuff so idk but igcse is overall easier to manage even if sciences are harder. (exam questions get repeated a lot too)
Agree with the sciences - more to cover in IGCSE's
@@soar865 yea I heard the IGCSE was way easier, one of my friends took it and he got a 9, when he was predicted a 6 in the regular GCSE
@@soar865 English second language though, what a joke that was
@@soar865 oh I'm sorry I didn't know that, I'm just saying English second language for me is really easy, I didn't mean to make fun of you
Also I forgot to mention I take IGCSE not GCSE, please don't take it personally I wasn't making fun of you
Olevel is the hardest
gcse maths- 42 chapters
igcse maths- 11 chapters
Ig international math is 36 chapters. Also the portion is almost the same, there's just more per chapter
the igcse paper is minimum twice as hard as gcse paper and see for yourself.
@@salmannadeem2827 Just did the 2022 paper mock and I didn't drop a single mark, stop capping buddy
@@ven5949 I got full marks as well, does that mean gcse is harder ?
@@salmannadeem2827GCSE is harder
Nope, the difference is a lot once you get into both
Bro could u tell?
@shery07 Just simply go for O levels. In my opinion IGCSE is way more harder
@@AzanShahzad161why? Please please let me know. I have to choose and I am curently having a really hard time. Please do tell me the pros and cons of each
@@OopsVault why do you think there are people who can't pass igcses so they go to gcse
in my experience igcses are more difficult ofcourse depending on the subject. i am a big math nerd and i have to say the gcse math exams are way easier than the igcse cie’s. the gap is honestly quite ridiculous.
THE CIE maths course apparantly is harder than a lot of other maths courses
Honestly its the cie igcse maths papers

Can you state some key differences between Cambridge alevel and edexcel alevel. Which one is easier or which one is more accepted world wide.(for science and maths subject)
Gcse is easier than igcse
IGCSE has stricter marking scheme
I’ve done both
@@monospoon8377
Please..tell me which is
1) Easier
2)For students who want to study in USA IVY LEAGUES (Yale,Harvard..)
3)Reason for differential categories??
Both cambridge and edexcel are accepted world wide. Its up to ur own preference
So the syllabus conducted by edexel pearson and cambridge international are not different because it’s the same for IGCSE
There are differences between the two even though they are IGCSE's
very informative
Can you please make a video about yhe differen've in A levels and AS levels
AS - Usually taken in year 12, a step above IG or GCSE in difficulty
A level - Year 13, harder than AS
AS (Advanced Subsidiary) is just the first half of the A (Advanced) Level course. The second half is sometimes referred to A2. A level usually just refers to the whole 2-year course and AS is the first year of that course. That's why an A Level textbooks will sometimes say "AS and A", because it covers both years.
Cambridge > Pearson EdExcel
Bro I thought he said iran😂
Someone clearly didn’t take GCSEs if he can’t even use apostrophes correctly
Bro be nice man
That's rhetorical though!!!
so if i study gcse material i could still be able to do the igcse exams ?
so there is no diffrence between the syllabus ?
Not between the cylabus but the style of exam questions can be diffrent and for example igcse maths only 2 papers and syllabus is the same but questions can be asked differently and there is no non calculator.
I’m not sure really because I was born in the uk and have been in gcse board now I moved to another country this year studding IGCSE
Extremely late, but there is a difference in syllabus! Gcse options are slightly different to igcse options (theres more options in gcse) and what ur learning in each subject can differ slightly, but the difficulty level shouldnt be that different i think
Another big difference is in igcse they dont check your grammar/spelling in the exams, only in english, while in gcses they often do :)
Is exam going ahead in may/june for igcse and ial?? , in Bangladesh the covid situation is getting worse the rate is around 30% right now which means out of 100 people 30 are getting affected by covid 19 and also our schools are closed from 26 january. i think pearson edexcel must think about the gloabal situation right now exam need to be cancel.
@labiqmahir that sounds pretty bad. Last year exams were cancelled in Bangladesh so if the Government could cancel again
@@ateamacad its really sad to say that our government only focuses on national curriculum they even dont look at whats happening with the english medium students, in the last year several students protest about it but they really dont care.
@@labiqmahir2937 I suppose it is not a straight forward decision to make since one away or another someone will always not be happy with the decision
If the situation is very bad then they might lower the grade boundaries. This means that you can get a higher grade by scoring low in the exams. I did my O'level examinations when covid situation was really worse and the exams were really easy. All questions were of basic level and many students got As and A*s.
if you take gcse maths in year 10 and then take igcse maths in year 11 does it count as a retake?
Wait so for igcse edexel u can’t Resit ur exams?
U can
They do in January for edexcel and nov for cie but edexcel is gonna change next yr to nov
nah u can, in january
Is o level different from GCSE and IGCSE?
CIE O Level is the same as IGCSE it is just branded differently to suit certain locations
Which one is better, CIE or Edexcel IGCSE? Please consider the difficulty of the exams, the syllabus, etc
It's not straight forward to distinguish which is better
@@ateamacad Sorry for my question as I acknowledge the fact that it is tough for someone to claim which one is “better” compared to another. Notwithstanding, can I ask your personal opinion on these two syllabuses?
@@minhanhle2863 would have to go with Edexcel IGCSE's but that's because we have more experience with this
@@ateamacad I however have issues with the god forsaken higher tier math paper, especially in the last questions like omg can you ask something that a normal living breathing human being can answer and not asking questions in fucking ancient texts
@@Omanifootballenjoyer yeah the last questions on higher maths are crazy
Im studying igcse is it ok to use gcse revision guide of the same exam board like edexcel to revise? Are the papers the same
There is a lot of crossover but certain things will differ and style of questions are different. Best to use the correct guides/books for the relevant specifications
Tq for the info., sir.
I'm 10 and I am doing my igcse
have fun, it isnt bad i took them this yr
yeah i agree. they are pretty fun. im now gonna be in a levels after my last 2 physics papers.@@gemmeg2761
BRO WHAT
Are you a genius?
i registered all my exams as igcse and by mistake one of them got registered as gcse can i still continue for my a level with one subject that has a different board?
of course you can
In the exam,if i write the unrounded version on the paper, butin the answer box i r9ght the rounded version(1 decimal place for angles),would it be wrong
You should be okay as long as you tend to go to 3 significant figures, so if the angle is less than 10° you would say 5.43° not 5.4°, so long as the data in the question is to ~3sf too
Exodus 14:14 - The Lord Will Fight For You , You Just Need To Be Still.
Romans 8:18 - The Pain You've Been Feeling Can't Compare To The Joy That's Coming.
John 14:8 - If God is all you have, you have all you need.
Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
