Gawd these prices are insane! I am a Gibson style guitar player, but can't justify their prices. I play modified Epiphones primarily. A great Epiphone or Squier Classic Vibe are hard to beat these days. You can always change pickups, wiring, etc to make them your own. Bonus is that you'll feel comfortable gigging with them.
I totally feel you. It has gotten out of hand. It would be very interesting to see what impact has this price scheme had in the hands making the guitars. Considering they’ve been there for years and years. I wonder if their salaries have doubled since 2019
10 k for the rich boomer dentist, without knowing that Jeff beck is associated with Strats. Gibson aiming the wealthy boomers, after this strategy who will be left in 25 years? There is littelary not ONE band in the Spotify top 100 artist that Gen z is following playing any Gibson! Not even an SG! May be I’m wrong, but I don’t know One artist! Gibson will be the brand for investors, collectors instead for musicians. If no musician will play Gibson guitars in the next 25 years the brand will be just an antique collectors dust piece of expensive wood collection. Bullshit company for actual working musicians! I’ll never liked Gibson guitars, I’m biased:) my money goes to PRS, Fender, Ibanez…I’ve never been in the Gibson camp, you Pay only for their name, their quality sucks! great work buddy!
I guess it makes sense, from a business standpoint, nobody wants to sell anything to musicians, the way things are looking, soon musicians are only going to be able to afford Harley Benton, Aria and so on. Every new “modernization” attempt in the music industry has just meant less and less and less to the creators. 😓 so it makes sense that a company would target the collectors, doctors, lawyers and people with money. Sad but true, music, very soon, it’s only gonna be a hobbyist activity. 😓😓😓 sadly, very sadly.

Edit: I play the old 90s & 2000s style Epiphones. I actually like the old headstock just fine. It's not the "classic" style but it's classy.
