We have arguments and Ted Talks for and against foreign aid and each has presented data and examples to suit their points. We need to move towards very specific Ted Talks focussing on a narrowed down issue and the type of foreign aid in question. For instance, foreign aid includes (and is not restricted to) Bilateral Aid, Multilateral Aid, Tied Aid, Project Aid, Military Aid and Voluntary Aid. The nature of the aid, the context, the duration, the intention, the intended outcomes, the sustainability of the aid as well the communities and the after-effects of aid after it is stopped matter while arguing for or against it.

Well said. This is the bias opinion of a third party as a donor and the opinions of people who do not live in any of the countries affected. I hope his perceptions have improved for better outcomes of those countries in the long run.

Where are the sources for those statistics of child vaccinations and enrollment in education? Which countries do they apply to?

The intention of foreign aid is very good but, it has done more harmed then good, it is a disasters to the poorest countries. It has not achieved the desirable results in many places like Africa. Aid kill more jobs and creativity. The people who are running the organization love it because for every dollars of aid reach countries give to poor countries they receive in return between seven to ten dollars back through debt repayment profits trade etc.

I've listened to a handful of videos about how foreign aid does more harm than good. I wanted to listen to this video to hear both sides, but when the speaker said that he's from the Gates Foundation, I lost all trust in anything that was said.

It's not our responsibility to eradicate diseases in other countries.
