Will’s kidnapping is honestly the best example of how to do horror: -Find a relatable scenario (such as going back home and being stalked), which makes it scarier -Smart directing -Noah’s acting makes it work even more -The victim actually does logical decisions

The whole scene with Will being chased by the demogorgon is probably the creepiest and most suspenseful scene I've ever seen, and was executed perfectly.

The only soundtrack that seems to have been released for this show so far is the one that includes all of the 80's pop and rock tracks that the show features, but I don't see any soundtrack yet for the original music. I've been trying to find the name of the song used during the first half of this scene for a while now.

1:45 to 5:35 is easily still one of my favorite parts of the entire series. "Kids" is such an amazing soundtrack. Even though i was born in the 90s it brings up those 80s nostalgia.
I LOVE the show’s soundtrack. The song that plays during the scene where the boys are leaving Mike’s house, “Kids”, makes me nostalgic for a time that I didn’t even live in!
i remember when i was first watching this, it became so much less creepy for me because Noah's acting impressed me so much, and my whole focus shifted to him. the expression in his eyes, when he was struggling to load the gun because of the trembling of his hands, how he never scream at the sight of the demogorgon and yet you could see the terror on his face. so impressive man, i love this kid.

I get flashbacks from my youth while watching Stranger Things. The music, film references, fashion, haircuts, etc. The show starts in 1983. I was 12 years old then. I was one of these kids. I was part of that 1980's "E.T.", "Breakfast Club", "Stand By Me", "The Goonies" & "Weird Science" generation. I miss those days.
4:31 Mike did have a point there. Since Nancy is 16 in this season and he claims she dressed up for one of their campaigns 4 years prior, that means she was their age then (12) while they were 8. So she only had fun because she was their age at that point. Times change.

The kids are only all together at the beginning a couple mins but you can feel the bond and friendship they share why they’d do anything to find Will throughout the season
Her behavior is brought up a lot in the season, like with the boys saying she’s a jerk after hanging out with Steve and Jonathan saying she’s not being herself and all that. I’m glad she grew out of it towards the end of the season

I was 13 in 1983. Anything and everything SciFi, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery was my world and Dungeons and Dragons my main passion and love. I stumbled upon this series last night and binged watched the whole thing back to back! I could not stop and had no desire to. To state it plainly, this series encapsulated everything about my early teen years and the waves upon waves of nostalgia were like NONE I have ever had before from any television production. My deepest gratitude to all that were responsible for creating this show and all the components that went with it!
if you listen you can hear the grandfather clock from season 4 when he falls off his bike. that just goes to show how amazing the directors and producers are with details and how they’ve had the whole plot planned out from the first couple minutes of season 1 🤯
Some people are theorizing that the figure shown in the road is not the demogorgon, but instead vecna. It is difficult to see but the figure seems to have one claw like hand whilst the demogorgon has two and the legs for a demo kinda zig zag, but this figures legs do not zig zag, this paired with the chain moving on its own in the door scene make sense that this could possibly be vecna sure the proportions are very off in the shots that we’re given but it could be explained that vecna was still trying to rebuild himself before season 4

I made the mistake of starting it at 11 pm ...stayed up til 4 watching it - I just plain passed out ...woke up and went back to watching it at 9 am - then 2 days later watched it all over again from day to night...then got my co workers to binge it while we were at work (we are night shift police dispatchers after midnight its uber quiet and slow)

It could be an interesting reference. 6:00 This silhouette is from Vecna. If you increase the brightness, you'll notice that the left hand is bigger than the right one, like Vecna, besides that the posture is much more upright than that of a Demogorgon. 6:05 Clock strikes as Will falls... 6:49 Vecna in the shadows similar to the scene where Max is hiding from Vecna, when Max stands behind a grave in the graveyard in season 4, Vecna is EXACTLY the same, could be a reference (Besides the Vecna being calm walking, no hunter posture, very different from a Demogorgon) 7:12 Here we hear grunts of a Demogor, which is of course Vecna manipulating Will's mind for him that it was a Demogorgon that understood him 7:16 Here we see Vecna using his TELECINESE to unlock the door. (The Demogorgon would have broken the door like a madman) Do you see the difference? At the end of the video Will is caught by Vecna who is pretending to be the Demogorgon. The Demogorgon is a monster attracted to blood (Willn was bleeding) A hunter who kills anyone he encounters, like the guy at the beginning who was killed in the elevator. It has nothing to do with what we see of Will getting caught, he was caught by someone calm and calculating. 8:18 In this scene it's the balcony again that's not the Demogorgon, IF IT WAS THE DEMOGORGON THE LIGHT WOULD BE FLASHING LIKE CRAZY!!! But quite the opposite! This light bulb is reminiscent of a season 4 where a light bulb lights up in Victor Creel's house, and it stays exactly the same because of Vecna. My theory is that the different belonged with powers that connect them to points in space and time. And Vec actually this. Vecna is the power that Will possesses. That's why Vecna hunted Will, Vecna wants to use Will's body for himself or something else. Something that makes this more interesting is when we think about what Vecna is in Dungeons and Dragons. Vecna is a sorcerer, a mage. Who is the class mage in Dungeons And Dragons? In the game, Will is the wizard.
and we should not forget that Will said he feels and knows that Vecna’s still alive after he was supposed to be dead, he looks connected with Vecna, maybe this is such a link to this scene where he maybe met Vecna for the first time
I kinda agree with some of this, but not entirely. First, lights flickering and disrupting happens several times when it's just a Demogorgon, it's not unique to Vecna himself. The silhouette and the clock chimes, I just don't see it. It still looks like an upright Demogorgon to me, skinnier than Vecna and I don't think his arms were quite that long. Also, why would Vecna be here? The entire series he never once shows up in person, he always just stays in his house directing his minions from a distance. Why would Vecna be here in person to take some random kid? Yeah, the opening the door has honestly bugged me since before we even knew Vecna was a thing, but I'm still not convinced, and I'm not convinced that the creators had Vecna planned out from the very start.
He is the starter and he will close it, It Will's the one Mind Flyers choose, Vecna just the general. Season 5 will be about how all this reconnects and we will know whether he is a villain or hero.

This video is the sole reason I watched Stranger things. Right after season 2 was released, I remember seeing this in my suggested and I decided to give it a watch. I thought "It's only 8 minutes, and if it looks alright I might give the series a watch". Well what a first impression this video was, I immediately got on Netflix to binge watch the first two seasons. What an absolute banger of a show, bravo Duffer Brothers
The flashing lights anomaly is one of the coolest and creepiest things I’ve ever seen. Just subtly hints like Mike’s garage lights blinking and Will’s bike’s light. It’s so cool!
+Cheateh (Dexter Spoilers) trust me they won't make a new season of Dexter. With Meg being dead and Dexter now a lumber jack I just don't see it happening. Hopefully they do though! It'd be interesting to see how Dexter starts a new life. And sorry for the spoilers if anyone hasn't seen it.

If it was the demogorgan why didn’t it chase will right away and get him right away? Its faster then him? Why didnt it barge throught the door? The demogorgan cant unlock a door but vecna can. Vecna is smart. If the demogorgan got him he would have died and his death would have been gory but instead will vanished. Like with what happens with vecnas victims they go to the upside down. It makes no sense that that was the demogorgan it was definitely vecna. Its not a coincidence.
@@Max-ci2qx I’m not sure exactly the connection between Vecna and the demogorgan but there definitely is one. My guess is that sometimes the demogorgon feeds but sometimes it brings the victims back to the upside down, maybe to leave them alive for Vecna or the mind flayer or maybe even a stronger being. I think the demogorgon did get Will the same way it got Martin Brenner in Hawkins lab but both were brought to the upside down and able to escape. Unlike barb who was unable to escape but we saw her body in the upside down, tangled in the vines as if she was being fed on like a parasite. We know the upside down has a hive-like mind so maybe that’s the reason the demagorgon brings them back like that. Vecna and other “dark wizards of great power” aren’t going to lift a finger unless they have to, they can just manipulate other beings in the upside down to do a lot of their dirty work. We saw when Vecna attacks his victims, he doesn’t have to physically be in the real world. He possesses them, they levitate as he looks into their mind, and then he kills them. That’s not what happened with Will, Brenner, or Barb. The demogorgon had to make its attack in the real world and brought them back to the upside down for some reason. They also foreshadowed when Will told mike the number he rolled and said “the demogorgon, it got me”. My question, is Vecna the king of the upside down? or is he just another piece on the chess board like the demogorgon? I think the mind flayer is behind it all. The battle at the mall was just the proxy body the mind flayer was able to manifest. I think he is behind everything.

This series is so amazing. Worth the watch. The music, the characters, the references: perfect. The plot itself is so uniquely put together. Ten outta ten, would watch it again (and I have, three times)!
Man, this scene is fantastic. It sets up the tone of the show while introducing to the characters in a way that makes us care and feel invested in the story. The direction is brilliant and the show runners use horror in the best way possible by barely showing us the demogorgans. Love this show so much! I wish I could watch it for the first time again!
Season 1 had such a authentic vibe to it. It’s the only season where the music and sound design really shine. This season had one, narrow focus and I think that’s what makes it the best. There aren’t an over abundance of characters. No larger storyline. Just a simple mystery show about the disappearance of a 12 year old boy in a quiet town with a secret government lab.
Coming back i see how amazing this intro is, it shows the characters so perfectly, see how Dustin wanted a protection spell but Lucas wanted to go directly into the fight? How will was honest about the rolled dice? Its little things that eventually grow into the fully developed characters we know
Will is a freaking trooper. He survived being trapped in the Upside down for so long plus all the other crap he went through. And they couldn't even remember his birthday in season 4???
*Spoilers* 5:59 might be far stretched but could that be an early version of Vecna? I mean seeing this scene again, I wonder why Will wasnt just immediately killed by the Demogorgon? Plus whatever it was, was barely seen and could be a skinnier, weaker version of Vecna, like the one we saw when he was first thrown into the upside down by eleven. Maybe he was attempting to open portals since day one or just trying to experiment on Will in general? I just don't understand why the Demogorgon decided to take Will into the upside down without immediately killing him like Barb. Or maybe I just forgot all about season 1 and it has all been explained already
It was definitely vecna. The sound of the clocks when will fell of his bike. The demogorgan would have quickly ran after him and killed him on the spot, would have been gory not a vanishing. Vecna is slow but smart. Took vecna a while to get to will but he unlocked the door, the demogorgan would have barged through the door. Vecna made him vanish into the upside down. Will also sang his favorite song in the upside down and survived just like Max did.
I think that Will was put in a vision by Vecna. That would explain how Vecna or the Demogorgon appeared behind Will in the shed. Whenever we hear clock chimes in Stranger Things, it usually means that the person who heard it is in a trance.

I stumbled upon this series last night and binged watched the whole thing back to back! I could not stop and had no desire to. To state it plainly, this series encapsulated everything about my early teen years and the waves upon waves of nostalgia were like NONE I have ever had before from any television production.
My deepest gratitude to all that were responsible for creating this show and all the components that went with it!
if you listen you can hear the grandfather clock from season 4 when he falls off his bike. that just goes to show how amazing the directors and producers are with details and how they’ve had the whole plot planned out from the first couple minutes of season 1 🤯

Some people are theorizing that the figure shown in the road is not the demogorgon, but instead vecna. It is difficult to see but the figure seems to have one claw like hand whilst the demogorgon has two and the legs for a demo kinda zig zag, but this figures legs do not zig zag, this paired with the chain moving on its own in the door scene make sense that this could possibly be vecna sure the proportions are very off in the shots that we’re given but it could be explained that vecna was still trying to rebuild himself before season 4

Season 4 didn't confirm this though, but rather he was the one that sent the Demogorgon and not the Mind Flayer.

This light bulb is reminiscent of a season 4 where a light bulb lights up in Victor Creel's house, and it stays exactly the same because of Vecna.
My theory is that the different belonged with powers that connect them to points in space and time.

I kinda agree with some of this, but not entirely. First, lights flickering and disrupting happens several times when it's just a Demogorgon, it's not unique to Vecna himself. The silhouette and the clock chimes, I just don't see it. It still looks like an upright Demogorgon to me, skinnier than Vecna and I don't think his arms were quite that long. Also, why would Vecna be here? The entire series he never once shows up in person, he always just stays in his house directing his minions from a distance. Why would Vecna be here in person to take some random kid? Yeah, the opening the door has honestly bugged me since before we even knew Vecna was a thing, but I'm still not convinced, and I'm not convinced that the creators had Vecna planned out from the very start.
7:15 As you can see, the door lock moved. Only with telekinesis power can do that, so that must be Vecna since season 1.
He is the starter and he will close it, It Will's the one Mind Flyers choose, Vecna just the general. Season 5 will be about how all this reconnects and we will know whether he is a villain or hero.

This video is the sole reason I watched Stranger things.
Right after season 2 was released, I remember seeing this in my suggested and I decided to give it a watch.
I thought "It's only 8 minutes, and if it looks alright I might give the series a watch".

If it was the demogorgan why didn’t it chase will right away and get him right away? Its faster then him? Why didnt it barge throught the door? The demogorgan cant unlock a door but vecna can. Vecna is smart. If the demogorgan got him he would have died and his death would have been gory but instead will vanished. Like with what happens with vecnas victims they go to the upside down. It makes no sense that that was the demogorgan it was definitely vecna. Its not a coincidence.

@@Max-ci2qx I’m not sure exactly the connection between Vecna and the demogorgan but there definitely is one. My guess is that sometimes the demogorgon feeds but sometimes it brings the victims back to the upside down, maybe to leave them alive for Vecna or the mind flayer or maybe even a stronger being.
I think the demogorgon did get Will the same way it got Martin Brenner in Hawkins lab but both were brought to the upside down and able to escape. Unlike barb who was unable to escape but we saw her body in the upside down, tangled in the vines as if she was being fed on like a parasite. We know the upside down has a hive-like mind so maybe that’s the reason the demagorgon brings them back like that. Vecna and other “dark wizards of great power” aren’t going to lift a finger unless they have to, they can just manipulate other beings in the upside down to do a lot of their dirty work. We saw when Vecna attacks his victims, he doesn’t have to physically be in the real world. He possesses them, they levitate as he looks into their mind, and then he kills them. That’s not what happened with Will, Brenner, or Barb. The demogorgon had to make its attack in the real world and brought them back to the upside down for some reason. They also foreshadowed when Will told mike the number he rolled and said “the demogorgon, it got me”.
My question, is Vecna the king of the upside down? or is he just another piece on the chess board like the demogorgon? I think the mind flayer is behind it all. The battle at the mall was just the proxy body the mind flayer was able to manifest. I think he is behind everything.

This series is so amazing. Worth the watch. The music, the characters, the references: perfect. The plot itself is so uniquely put together. Ten outta ten, would watch it again (and I have, three times)!

Man, this scene is fantastic. It sets up the tone of the show while introducing to the characters in a way that makes us care and feel invested in the story. The direction is brilliant and the show runners use horror in the best way possible by barely showing us the demogorgans. Love this show so much! I wish I could watch it for the first time again!

I still enjoy this show but I miss the reserved, quiet yet sinister atmosphere it had back in season 1
Season 1 had such a authentic vibe to it. It’s the only season where the music and sound design really shine. This season had one, narrow focus and I think that’s what makes it the best. There aren’t an over abundance of characters. No larger storyline. Just a simple mystery show about the disappearance of a 12 year old boy in a quiet town with a secret government lab.
yeah truly the difference between s1-s2 and s3-s4 is that the newer seasons you can tell the show knows it’s a big deal
Coming back i see how amazing this intro is, it shows the characters so perfectly, see how Dustin wanted a protection spell but Lucas wanted to go directly into the fight? How will was honest about the rolled dice? Its little things that eventually grow into the fully developed characters we know

5:59 might be far stretched but could that be an early version of Vecna? I mean seeing this scene again, I wonder why Will wasnt just immediately killed by the Demogorgon? Plus whatever it was, was barely seen and could be a skinnier, weaker version of Vecna, like the one we saw when he was first thrown into the upside down by eleven. Maybe he was attempting to open portals since day one or just trying to experiment on Will in general? I just don't understand why the Demogorgon decided to take Will into the upside down without immediately killing him like Barb. Or maybe I just forgot all about season 1 and it has all been explained already
I think that's pretty accurate tbh. Notice how when Will falls off his bike too there's some dull type chimes from the grandfather clock possibly??
Yeah and when the lock on the door opens with powers at 7:15 like eleven and now vecna… pretty sure a demogorgon can’t do that!

It was definitely vecna. The sound of the clocks when will fell of his bike. The demogorgan would have quickly ran after him and killed him on the spot, would have been gory not a vanishing. Vecna is slow but smart. Took vecna a while to get to will but he unlocked the door, the demogorgan would have barged through the door. Vecna made him vanish into the upside down. Will also sang his favorite song in the upside down and survived just like Max did.
I think that Will was put in a vision by Vecna. That would explain how Vecna or the Demogorgon appeared behind Will in the shed. Whenever we hear clock chimes in Stranger Things, it usually means that the person who heard it is in a trance.
