It’s a strategy. John in the can, keepin a grilled cheese on the radiator, Phil’s kid bruddah, left a bad taste in the mouth o’dat Porto Rican hewah...
The ending conversation is heavy. Tony talks about his “strategy” and how Phil has “200 soldiers in the family”. From Tony, that statement says “fear”. He was always stuck at the fork in the road. He had too much to lose with an all out war. But Chris saying “I ain’t scared of him” showed he had nothing to fear, because he had nothing to lose. Never had the foresight to see the tremendous implicatives that might serve his bottom line much better. Tony did; that was his downfall. Look, all I’m trying to say is that Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
You can't blame him. They didn't hit the guy with the car. A third party motorist did a hit and run. They didn't intend for that. They just wanted to rough him up a little for taking action on their turf. He threw that line out there to save his own ass because Phil could have easily resolved the situation by turning him over to Tony, especially if he wasn't yet made.
Think the guy wanted that point to be made even though he's a low level soldier. Feels responsible and wanted the record set straight regardless. Took some balls

Shine the floor box, the senator thing was a varsity record.
Still to get dragged by @car?!?...
Tony’s comments were always hysterical. Every once in awhile you get a nugget like the senator comment.
You give Chrissy some army training, make him go to the gym for one year, no drugs, train various stuff and give him a heavy machine gun, good car, plus 4 more CAPABLE guys, and then just one line of coke! Kills the whole NYC crew! :D
The guy standing next to Phil looks like a young Clint Eastwood.
Adam Honesty and decency Actually I thought it was "Bo" from the Dukes of Hazard.
This is an interesting scene. There is Alot going on here. Mushrooms coming out of a particular persons ass (ironic). The 50K negotiation. The negotiating new figures/splits for the office park 65/35 (what was it before?). Christopher upset about always caving in to Phil. Tony showing actual respect and concern about keeping the Lupertazzi family happy and giving us a figure as to made men (over 200 soldiers). Christopher once again emphasizing his dislike for them. Phil and his brother in law walking away together. It was a rich scene.
Probably 60/40
Thanks for helping me understand why I love this scene so much
"Soldier" does not mean "made"
@@pokerace420 soldier does mean made. It is the lowest rank of made men. Associates aren't soldiers.
@@pokerace420 associates become soldiers when they get made. It goes soldier, capo, underboss, boss.
Wow a productive meeting for a change
