I did it! I finally got caught up & watched EVERY video! I got into succulents about 1.5 years ago & you’ve given me SUCH good advise! I’m in Ohio in the US, so all my plants have to come inside in the winter & I have to stock up on more & more grow lights! I’m forever jealous all your beautiful plants get to live outside year round! ❤️🌵❤️ keep up the great videos!

I'm more of a documenter and a story-teller, it's not everyone's preferred way of learning since they'll have to dig through a lot of the content to get to what they need. But I enjoy doing it like this, and that's what matters right!
We'll see. I'll make an announcement in the future if I have excess I can ship out (postage at buyer's expense of course). These would be more of the filler plants though.

You can build a box with reflective walls and make the light more uniform. This way you can also control the temperature inside the box and not the whole garage.
Instead of throwing them to the bin, can't you send some giveaways on your avid viewers? I would really appreciate that. There are a lot of your fellow succulent growers here in the Philippines and I really love the technicality of your explanations of these type of plants. Really learned a lot and I enjoy watching your garden and how you take care of it.

Nice video do you suggest cutting Aeoniums and other succulents like graptopetalum and so on like this at least once a year just to give the plant more vigour?
Hi Oliver, good question. My opinion is that I give them a trim if I want it to be more "bushy" if that makes sense. Cutting off the head encourages more offsets to grow along the stem. I don't think it necessarily gives them more vigour, it just feels that way since a lot of offsets come out at once. For me it's more of whether I want the plant to stay low and thick or to keep a certain shape, or if I just want to take some cuttings to propagate.

Have you ever worked with anything like a microcontroller + sensor for automatic data collection (lux in this case)? have you ever looked into ndvi calculations in outdoor settings (I'm just curious, I've only recently found this as a 'possible' way to measure health and am looking for anyone familiar)
also, gotta respect your gardening skill and knowledge...I've never looked into succulents (forgive me if I'm simplifing, nearly everything you mentioned is new to me) in northern USA and focus on natives/perennials + veggies, however it's a whole new world to be explored :)
Hi Brendon, welcome to the channel! Thanks for the tips on automation. I haven't looked into those yet. I'm very new to grow lights, and have only started using them a few weeks ago so I'm still learning what I can do with them. The thought of gathering and monitoring data is a very appealing concept to me now that you mention it. I'd definitely want to look into that. You see, I'm more of an outdoor garden kind of guy. I lucked out with my climate not having too harsh winters. About ndvi, I have a very low tech version going on (because I don't have the proper tools to measure this, haha!). It's a technique that I like to call "indicator plants". What I do is basically have a plant that I am very familiar with, one that is very easy to propagate, plant them everywhere in the garden, then observe how they react after a length of time. I end up having a map of "usable" spots, as well as spots that "might need adjustments". I use the indicator plant as reference. So with every new plant that I get, I compare against my reference plant (i.e. relative light, water, etc requirements) so I can adjust accordingly.
Hi Chuck A question for you I placed all my Echeverias that are in terracotta pots on the veranda facing North I have not watered them over the winter as the pots were very wet and I did lose a few to rot Should I wait till Spring before I water them again What do you think? Thanks Maria😊

If you do the chop during their growing period, the roots will grow back quickly. Otherwise if you do it while they are dormant, it will take a lot longer.
Hi there. With Rain Drops, you're better off doing head chops. Leaf cuttings tend to grow slowly. As for the other one, just let them mature enough, because once mature, they give out lots of pups anyway. You can also try propagating from leaves from the flower stalks, but I personally just prefer offsets from the main plant, because they are more healthy, and grow much faster.

Is 10k lux from any led light source or there are some red blue grow light that only suitable, bit confused to thought to ask with you
