Waʻalaykum al-Salām waraḥmat Allāhi wabarakātuhu.
Al-Ḥuwaynī never retracted from this, may Allāh bless you. Rather, al-Ḥuwaynī defended his mistake, even in that very video Redman1300 produced where he justified his false thinking openly (which one of the commentators -- may Allāh reward him - detected and I saw Redman1300's vile thoughts towards Shaykh Rabīʻ al-Madkhalī in his response, Allāh's refuge is sought).
Furthermore, I advise you as your Salafī brother that you do not pay attention to Redman or people like him (such as Easy Islamic Translations), as they are Ḥizbiyyūn with hatred in their hearts towards Shaykh Rabīʻ al-Madkhalī, Shaykh Muzammil Faqīrī, Shaykh Sulaymān al-Ruḥaylī, and many more, with love towards Ikhwān al-Muslimūn and Iḥyā al-Turāth and their likes. They have no Salafī Scholars behind them, they simply speak out of emotions. Just as an example of the false information they spread, they distorted the situation of Libya where they said we committed khurūj there behind General Haftar, when in actuality we were fighting the Khawārij as Shaykh Usāmah al-ʻUtaybī has clarified, and Shaykh Usāmah will actually teach you proper principles (like he has with me and many brothers I sincerely love and respect for the sake of Allāh) and knows the Libyans in detail, unlike these personalities who probably hate Shaykh Usāmah as well.

ثانيا، أما النووي، إختلف العلماء في حاله، والشيخ محمد بن هادي يقول أنه أشعري، لكن النووي والسيوطي وغيرهما من العلماء اللذين أخطاء في بعض المسائل في العقيدة لا يثنى أشخاص مثل سيد قطب الخبيث، ولا يكفر بالذنوب مثل الرباء.
ثالثا، ما أنت تهين العلماء مثل ربيع المدخلي ومحمد بن هادي المدخلي ومحمد بازمول وخالد عثمان وأحمد النجمي وغيرهم؟
