Ibn qayyim poem
O Christ-worshippers! We want an answer to our question [from your wise ones],
If the Lord was murdered by some people's act, what kind of god is this?
We wonder! Was He pleased by what they did to Him?
If yes, blessed be they, they achieved His pleasure,
But if He was discontented, this means their power had subjugated Him!
Was the whole entity left without a Sustainer, so who answered the prayers?
Were the heavens vacated, when He laid under the ground somewhere?
Were all the worlds left without a God, to manage while His hands were nailed?
Why did not the angels help Him, when they heard him while he wailed?
How could the rods stand to bear the True Lord when He was fastened,
How could the irons reached Him and [had] His body pinned?
How could His enemies' hands reach Him and slap His rear,
And was Christ revived by himself, or was the Reviver another god?
What a sight it was, a grave that enclosed a god,
Stranger still is the belly that confined Him!
He stayed there for nine months in utter darkness, fed by blood!
Then he got out of the womb as a small baby,
Weak and gasping to be breast-fed!
He ate and drank, and did what that naturally resulted,1
Is this [what you call] a god?
High Exalted be Allah above the lies of Christians,
All of them will be held accountable for their libels!
O Cross-worshippers! For what reason is this exalted
and blame [is cast upon those] who reject it?
Is it not logical to break and burn it, along with the one who innovated it?2
Since the Lord was crucified on it, and his hands were fastened to it?
That is really a cursed cross to carry,
So discard it, do not kiss it!3
The Lord was abused on it, and you adore it?
So [it is clear that] you are one of His enemies!
If you extol it because it carried the Lord of the Worlds,
Why don't you prostrate yourself and worship graves,
Since the grave contained your god in it?4
So Christ-worshippers, open your eyes,
This is what the matter is all about.
Allah said:
(And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do.)
(Al-Anʿām, Ayah 108)
The hadith nothing is heavier than good character has context.
Aqida is heaviest. The card of the shahada outweighs everything, even 99 books of bad deeds .... then this comes later.

So true! Its forbidden for us to insult those who are not muslim because they will in return insult Allah .
Allah says in the Quran:
وَلَا تَسُبُّوا الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَيَسُبُّوا اللَّهَ عَدْوًا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ كَذَلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ [الأنعام:108].

This makes me think about the way in which people give dawah - is their approach truly representative of our deen?

It's mind boggling to me how certain brothers entertain mental gymnastics to invent a gray area of being "a strong and proud Muslim who has jealous anger for his religion" meanwhile there are just a few very specific incidents like war that allows you to display boastful or insulting behavior.
In fact all of the prophets in the Quran spoke in good words to the most heinous people of their times
I literally never heard of any such behavior being generally accepted and nilly willy applied like this before I first listened to these brothers
Even in times of war, Prophet Muhammed(SAW) showed mercy, restraint, respect.
Not boastfulness or insulting behaviour.
Justice, is not the same as arrogance and insulting behaviour.
And even still, Allah(SWT) teaches it is better to be patient and merciful rather than seek equal justice(even if it is within someone’s rights).

If we see the actions of the Prophet(SAW), he follows Allahs(SWT) teachings, and was merciful, patient and forgiving even to his enemies or in times of war.
It means seeking peace, striving for peace, not transgressing, forgiving and making treaty with those who equally seek peace, not harming innocents or insulting.
98:6 labels all non believers as the worst of creation. This is a direct insult. Why are followers expect to speak better than their god?

Insulting what others hold as divine and holy makes them also less open to honest dialogue.
So if you want non muslims to turn away from Islam and hate muslims and feel like Islam is evil, insult what they worship besides Allah, what they see as the most important.

it doesn't matter what they do when Mohammad PBUH gave dawah he started with preaching monotheism and other aqeedah subjects. he didn't first start with telling people to give charity, quit alcohol, wear a hijab, pray daily ect... when giving dawah the two shahadas are the first objective all the other rulings come afterwards.
in addition, when preaching you should be wanting the best for the other person and guiding them to the right path, not just trying to prove them wrong and yourself right while ridiculing them.
and if they turn away then the messengers duty is only to deliver
Allahuma baarak brother, this is so important and you do such a good job with your warning to not insult with daleel as always. Yett we must also be well-informed that cow worshiping in the Hindu religion is the direct insult to Allah's s command to slaughter the cow in Surat Al Baqarah. While making dawa which should be our goal we must take care to not criticize them but to enlighten them using stories from Quran. It is no doubt that they are following blind tradition as this current generation specifically of well-educated Indians occupying respectful positions in America themselves would be shy to admit some of the Hindu practices held by their parents. I specifically care about calling these Indians as I am impressed by their manners and modesty, they deserve Islam to be released from parental tyranny.
