I will definitely have to become more relaxed and more patient. Because I know this is not like dry van where it’s first come first serve most of the time.
Ran a Reefer out of NC years ago... Million dollar cigarette loads from Phillip Morris to CA and then produce from Salinas CA back East. Good run Bandit and some nice drone footage as well!
Enjoy the coffee Buddy. Keep bringing these great videos. Love the drone footage. I wish the truckers in NY had as much respect for the trucking industry as you do.
Hey good video Bandit, Reefer will fluctuate a few degrees high and low side as reefer cooling unit or heat unit kicking on and off keeping a steady 65 degrees according to inside temperature to outside temperature. Stop at Harbor Freight and get a battery grinder with cutting wheel for cutting heavy seals and use down the road for repairs. Also a battery weed and grass blower for trailer clean out broken pallets wood and dust and safety glasses for the grinder. Buy the same company of rechargeable batteries for the same charger and then you have a extra battery of the same type for either piece of battery equipment. Maybe a old heavy screwdriver for prying broken boards stuck in the air gabs of floor. I tend to look for a storm sewer by street curbs to clean out into storm sewer drain, just blow wood chips and dust down the storm sewer drain. I usually keep the big chunks of boards and pitch in the trash bag for the trash...lol ..communist state of Illinois, California, NY or NJ. Watch out around Beardstown, Ill. the state highways suck and rough as hell. Welcome to the reefer pulling, been pulling for several years sometimes you have to wait which sucks, take care and keep the rubber on the road.
I appreciate all the tips buddy. Thank you so much. I used to carry one of them grinders in my truck, but I don’t do it anymore. I think I will start carrying one again with me, but this time I’m gonna buy Milwaukee because all of my other power tools in the truck or Milwaukee brand. I just started carrying that leaf blower with me in the past three or four months. I always use the broom like a dumbass. This leaf blower is great for semi truck trailers. thank you very much my friend and stay safe out there. 🙏🏼
I really wish I stayed there instead of going all the way to Dwight Illinois but it is what it is my friend. I’ll make sure I spend more time next time I come through there..
Lmao, as soon as you mentioned’Swift’ I looked out my window and saw a Swift Truck drive by, I live in central Vermont, New England, I enjoyed the aerial view of that truck stop, lots of trucks there, I’m amazed.
I want you to know I love your videos your awesome man I’m a retired trucker so I have been their done that keep trucking man watch every video you put out like I said love you man stay safe out there your awesome
Congratz on your new reefer! Just a few suggestions off the top of my head, you probably have these things already but if you dont have a leaf blower then get one. It saves a lot of time on the sweepout, quickly gets the loose cr@p out from between the ribs on the floor. You'll also need a broom with a handle if you don't have one yet. The broom handle will be used to clean the stuck produce or stuff that gets wedged in the floor ribs. Pick up and carry a few extra plastic/nylon rivets for your chute, you'll have to fix them from time to time when a forklift snags a corner. I may have missed it but if you don't have an onboard right way scale on the trailer tandems install one, your going to be heavy with many of the reefer loads. I put just a little grease on the trailer tandem slide surfaces, you use them a lot with reefers loading and unloading. Making it a habit to slide your tandems all the way back when loading and unloading will help preserve your aluminum floor at the back of the trailer. Go get that money Brotha!
I really appreciate that buddy. Thank you so much. I have most of that stuff, except for the rivets. But I will get those as well. And I always like to slide my tandems all the way to the back because it’s less bouncy than they are going in and out. And now there’s even a better reason to do it and I guess it’s to preserve the aluminum floor..
Figured you did Ha! Vans and reefers aren't too much different that way. If you looked at some used reefers that was not taken care of you can see the floor bowing in and or patched around 10' back from the doors, all the weight of the forklifts loaded hitting that trailer with tandems moved forward really wears out that last section of aluminum floor. @@OTRBandit
@@dennispfohl4737 I wish I could put some kind of rubber mat towards the back of the trailer so whenever they get the dock plate down, it’s not touching that aluminum floor at all.
Brotha, I dont think you'll have any issues because its clear you take care of your equipment and know what to do, youll just have to work on your patience for sure with reefer and the long wait times! @@dennispfohl4737 I think by the end of this year things should come back to normal. OTR Bandit Very nice Pete and Refer. Usually when picking up or delivering You are going to be waiting. Most shippers want your refer pre cooled at -10 for Meats and 30 for produce. You will need about 4 load locks( ratchet type preferred ,with condensation the wall get slippery and the other one's fall off. I prefer to put E-Tracks in the Refer if it is my own because the straps hold everything ) and when the refer starts and stops( You have to set the temp first ) that mode is called cycle sentry, when the temp inside the trailer falls 5 degrees the motor comes on and lowers the temp back to your set point. When You are within the the set point the motor does not run, and a new refer should be very efficient so depending on the outside temp to, it will normally save you some refer fuel. Good Luck Bandit You are very Funny.
Good Luck with your new Trailer and hope you have much luck with it from here on out. You deserve it brother. I think if that truck was mine, i would be thrilled and would clean and wax that thing all the time to keep iit shinning in the Sun. Congratulations buddy

Great to get the real action. Back in '93 when I drove the dry van the guys came by our CDL class and tried to sign us up for reefers. I think it was FFE. The short time only that one year I drove I loved driving the truck and seeing the sites, but it only took a few experiences at grocery distributors to convince me to do something else. That was a rough time for me with a young me and family getting started. Being at home was more important at the time. You have the experience and friends to help you so I hope it works out! Also driving a company truck was a real pressure situation. A lot of Just In Time loads for vehicle manufacturers that pushed us to the limit with blizzards and some bad dispatchers didn't help.
I think for me, it’ll be a little bit bit different because I am independent operator and I pick and choose where to go. If I don’t like a load or something or the place where I’m supposed to be going. I can just cancel the load and get me something else.
Congratulations 🥳🎉 on that refer load & new trailer, get that $$$$$ #NewSubscriber I do miss OTR #RetiredUnitedVanLines Sharp eyes spotting that nail, tires are EXPENSIVE
Great video! Thanks for the content. I have a few questions...How do you get your own loads or do you have a "dispatcher"? How do you deal with lumpers? I heard that lumpers suck? I'm currently a "revenue collector" LOL but soon to retire to do OTR.
😂😂😂 I’m sorry about that buddy please don’t arrest me. I am independent operator which means I own everything. I have my own company with my own MC number. And I use DAT one load board to find me a load. I also use bunch of other boards that brokers offered themselves. Sometimes I have to pay for lumper, but I am always reimbursed by broker. But with some of these brokers, you wanna make sure that they will reimburse you. Because some of them want to pay the lumper themselves and if you pay it out of your pocket, you will not get the money back.
I enjoyed the video. I enjoyed the bird view from the world's largest truck stop. I have been there a few times but this is the first time to see it from above.
It is very big from what I can see. Wish I was there in the middle of the day so I can fly my drone a little bit more and maybe go inside and check it out.
You probably ad your dowts about your new adventure trucking with food but it's paying off for you so glad for you good luck my friend over here in Bradford United Kingdom 🇬🇧 👏🤝
Gotta love those light loads! Don't have to mess around at the CAT Scale! They probably made that load 65 for both freeze protection, and so the chocolate chips don't melt. Once you start getting some Cargill Meat loads, you'll see a string of -10f load after load after load. And Soda/Chilled Beverages at 34.
Glad to see your so happy with your reefer just a note about the guy almost ran you over sometimes we have to be careful I just read another trucker at a truck stop was fatally shot at a truck stop in Pennsylvania so be careful brother God bless you
Congrats on your 1st load Buddy……… Hope ur refeer trailer brings you a lot more $$$$$$. Can’t wait to see your future hauls go and look forward to the ride along. And of course all the cussing and telling the people off when needed. Be safe and put that hammer down, yea Buddy……..Prrrrrt
You probably know this by now. But most grocery warehouse are always early morning drops. Reefer temp. Will always hold. If unit runs out of fuel good luck it's a pain to prime that unit.
Cookies are great for ⛽️ mileage only thing better than that toilet paper lol b safe brother safe travels keep up the great work from the Canadian s ✌️
I’ve spent many hours at Iowa 80 you missed out by not going inside. I agree with you on the Tesla dip shits. When I was 17 I had 21 tickets. I too had hell getting a driving job at first. The blue tank is a frac tank used in the oilfield. They fill them water or acid mixed with water to frac wells with. Sometimes you will see 20 or more parked side by side at oilfield locations. Happy trails driver!
Thank you very much buddy. I will definitely have to stop again sometime and spend a little bit more time there. It was already started to get dark and I didn’t feel like leaving my truck out there. A lot of wasted money and time on those tickets but it’s OK. I haven’t had a ticket since 2007 I believe. We live and learn my friend.
Damn!! Every truck driver should watch this video and listen to your educational words at 17:50 of the video, explaining what the center lane is used for when it comes to commercial vehicles.
Yes, sir. It gets really bad around Chicago area with all the new drivers taking up the center lane and then we have to break the law to pass them in the left lane where we are not supposed to be at.
Congrats on your first Refeer load man. Yes the reefer will do that with the temp. It’s very normal. I pull them a lot. I’d definitely look into carrying an extra alternator and belt with you. I had one go out on me just a few weeks ago was tough finding ThermoKing near by me.
Your temperature went up a little because your doors were open when you pulled off of the building. The reefer pulled in some warmer air, which will explain the slightly higher temp. In hotter weather (summertime), it will kick your unit into a defrost mode, then back to normal cooling.
Hey Bandit hope you don’t hate me now but besides driving tour buses I’m a retired state trooper. I understand your situations at times but for me I never stopped people under 10mph on back roads and 15 mph on the interstate. So I always had the feel of what it was like out on the big road. Accidents DUI.s I had little to no discretion. Roll o.
I appreciate you my friend and I always appreciate guys like yourself. I only have problem with these DOT guys that are working on scales that are not even cops.
@35:42 Peek-a-boo I finally see you........ 😁 Another great one! So a few questions? Reefers can warm up or cool the trailer? Can you explain the different circumstances when you move the tandem wheels back and forth on the trailer (sorry if you already have). Lastly good to know about the middle lane. If i was a trucker thats exactly the lane I'd "camp out in" as you said 😂 Lastly other thn Cali what other states do you avoid like the plague and why? EDIT The blue trailer is a FRAC tank used for frack oil drilling. I was stationed in oklahoma thats the only reason i know that😂
Yes sir reefer can warm up and freeze food. I am taking a load of chocolate milk right now down to Florida and the temperature is set at 70° for some reason. We can move our trailer tandems back-and-forth, and we can also slide our fifth wheel back-and-forth to adjust the weigh. If we are too heavy, on our drive tires, we can move trailer tandems forward to put more weight on the trailer and take some off the drive tandems. I can be 80,000 pounds total weight 12,000 pounds on my steer tires 34,000 pounds on my drive tires and 34,000 pounds on my trailer. I don’t go to communist state of California because their speed limit for semi trucks is 55 and they hate truck drivers. But I can’t go there anyway with my truck because it is not compliant with their emissions. I don’t go to a lot of states. I mainly try to stick to the Midwest close to Missouri so that I can be home often.
Congratulations on jumping to this side of trucking ,beware of the production plants sometimes it can take a day or two to get you loaded because you’re waiting on product to be made
? Do the truck stops get diesel ⛽️ fuel by big fuel trucks like local car gas stations? I've never seen delivery trucks; wonder if they have "off-site" locations?
I agree. My dry van looked pretty good with this truck because dry van is pretty clean but I do think it looks a lot better with the reefer.. and I appreciate it buddy thank you so much 🙏🏼
Carry a pump up sprayer,a gallon of beach and bug spray.a broom.buy you a air hose that hooks to your glad hand.keep your trailer very clean.trust God.
I ALWAYS CARRIED LIKE 6 TO 8 LOAD LOCKS WITH MY REEFER WHEN YA HAVE DIFFERENT HEIGHT PALLETS TO LOCK THING IN !!! CHECK AND CARRY ECT FUEL FILTERS FOR THE REFER UNIT AND A LONG PAIR OF JUMPER CABLES TO REACH THE REEFER BATTERIES IF NEEDED.......SAFE TRUCKINS !!!
I will definitely have to buy more load locks because I only have two right now. And I have a very long jumper cables in my truck. I was at the thermo king yesterday, but I forgot to pick me up some fuel filters. I will definitely have to do that next time I come through there.
good luck with that unit thats why they built peterbuilt to haul reefer load and cows but i never did that cow crap im sure that smell is in the sleeper too
@@OTRBandit no way! You were coming into Atlanta when I saw you. I was southbound and I happen to glimpse over and thought it was you. Turns out it was! Keep on trucking and stay safe brother!
@@hurielroblero7172Stopped there at exit 2 in GA to get a shower and now we headed to ATL take her easy down in Florida brother. It was raining really bad when I was there.
This was a lot better than any other loads that were available. I didn’t really want to pull ice cream as my first load and I didn’t want to go to meat packing plant and wait there forever for my first load. Even though I didn’t get unloaded early at Aldi, that was totally fine with me.
Great video, bra .watch out for mavericks drivers, they run you over, lol. peterbilt and reefer look awesome together. You dont like sitting still for a long time .😂😂 safe travels, my friend ✌️💪🙏
Thank you very much buddy. Yeah these new guys are freaking crazy. They are speeding a truckstop all the time playing on their phone or ELD. But they are not near as bad as those Penske drivers at Aldi’s.
I will definitely make extra time next time I come through here. Wish I remembered I was gonna drive by that place. I wouldn’t have made my first stop up at the Casey’s.
I was checking my wheel hubs constantly and they did not get hot. But yesterday I was checking around the trailer here at the house and three of those wheel hubs didn’t have oil in them. so I had to put some of that Lucas hub oil in them.
If there is a truck parked in the door that they want you to park in and it's past your appointment time, even tho you were on time, will they still charge you a late fee
Yeah buddy you make me lmao! We all make stupid mistakes at one time or another, but I love the fact that you can laugh at yourself. Best of luck with your reefer….. get’r done!😁
Make sure when delivering they want you to break the seal.Food plants are fussy about it.And make sure your floor is really clean of any debris. Especially food plants are really particular about it.Good luck
Thank you buddy 🙏🏼 I always ask them if they want me to break the seal and I always record when I’m breaking the seal just in case. I also have a big blower so I can blow out all of debris in the trailer after my delivery.
That was what they call a "frac" tank. Used alot in the pipeline industry. Used to drain product lines into them etc.. Thanks for the video!👍
Thank you 🙏🏼

Congratulations Buddy on the new reefer, onwards and upwards from now on… stay safe. Don’t forget to get some snake repellant😉👍love the look of the new rig✔️
Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼 I always stay away from snakes, but best way to repel those snakes is to have a nice clean looking truck.
Try tying the shoe laces together, that way you would have to lose both or you would lose none. Your Truck is beautiful buddy.
Thank you very, very much, buddy
Those drone shots are awesome..thanx..
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great to get the real action.
Congratulations on your new journey with the reefer units.
Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼
🙏 Same from me too
@@DeanHenry51752Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼
Congratulations 🥳🎉 on that refer load & new trailer, get that $$$$$ #NewSubscriber
I do miss OTR #RetiredUnitedVanLines
Sharp eyes spotting that nail, tires are EXPENSIVE
Appreciate it buddy 🙏🏼 thank you very much. I hate seeing nails in parking lots. Could be very costly.
Thank you very much buddy. I really think I’m gonna like doing this. And thank you so much for watching all the way from UK 🇬🇧
I’m not looking forward to those meat loads because they have a long wait time from what I hear.
That reefer trailer looks right at home behind that large car
It sure does my friend. I think it looks a lot better than it did before.
Glad to see your so happy with your reefer just a note about the guy almost ran you over sometimes we have to be careful I just read another trucker at a truck stop was fatally shot at a truck stop in Pennsylvania so be careful brother God bless you
Yeah, that’s terrible. I hate seeing that happened to drivers
Thank you very much, my friend. I am very excited about this new chapter.
@@OTRBandit as you should be Bandit…………👍🏻
You probably know this by now. But most grocery warehouse are always early morning drops. Reefer temp. Will always hold. If unit runs out of fuel good luck it's a pain to prime that unit.
Hopefully I never ran out of fuel. I don’t think I should because I keep checking it all the time.
Cookies are great for ⛽️ mileage only thing better than that toilet paper lol b safe brother safe travels keep up the great work from the Canadian s ✌️
I appreciate it buddy thank you so much 🙏🏼 I thought these cookies were great for my first reefer load.
Parked between two Dumpsters,,,😂 Damn near Pissed my pants. Beautiful setup my friend.🤘
Thank you very much. I thought that joke was really funny. I was trying not to laugh on camera too much 😂😂
Trailer looking good behind your Blue Beauty! Glad to see that you didn't trade your tenny runner's for FlipFlops!
Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼If I keep losing all these shoes, I will definitely have to get me some cheap flip-flops.
Hope all goes well for you. Dave
I appreciate that Dave 🙏🏼
We are still watching. You are at the TA. This great bro.
Appreciate that 🙏🏼
Congrats bro have a great trip
Thank you very much 🙏🏼
Love your passion driver👍👍
Thank you buddy 🙏🏼
Smart truck with a smart trailer, good luck with your fridge work.
Thank you very much buddy I really appreciate 🙏🏼
New subscriber. Enjoy your channel beautiful truck. Good luck with the new reef game.
Thank you very much 🙏🏼 I appreciate that.
Hey, that big lighted thing over the highway in Oklahoma City, is the state bird. A fly catcher
Ok, I was wondering what that was. Thank you for clearing that up for me 🙏🏼
Congrats on your first Refeer load man. Yes the reefer will do that with the temp. It’s very normal. I pull them a lot. I’d definitely look into carrying an extra alternator and belt with you. I had one go out on me just a few weeks ago was tough finding ThermoKing near by me.
I’m working on getting alternator, starter and extra belts to carry with me. I appreciate that brother 🙏🏼
Your temperature went up a little because your doors were open when you pulled off of the building. The reefer pulled in some warmer air, which will explain the slightly higher temp. In hotter weather (summertime), it will kick your unit into a defrost mode, then back to normal cooling.
That’s what I thought but I wasn’t sure. I appreciate you clearing that up for me buddy thank you very much.
@35:42 Peek-a-boo I finally see you........
😁
Another great one! So a few questions? Reefers can warm up or cool the trailer?
Can you explain the different circumstances when you move the tandem wheels back and forth on the trailer (sorry if you already have).
Lastly good to know about the middle lane. If i was a trucker thats exactly the lane I'd "camp out in" as you said 😂
Lastly other thn Cali what other states do you avoid like the plague and why?
EDIT The blue trailer is a FRAC tank used for frack oil drilling. I was stationed in oklahoma thats the only reason i know that😂
Yes sir reefer can warm up and freeze food. I am taking a load of chocolate milk right now down to Florida and the temperature is
set at 70° for some reason.
Congratulations on jumping to this side of trucking ,beware of the production plants sometimes it can take a day or two to get you loaded because you’re waiting on product to be made
Thank you brother 🙏🏼 I did hear that before and I will do my best not to go to those places.
? Do the truck stops get diesel ⛽️ fuel by big fuel trucks like local car gas stations? I've never seen delivery trucks; wonder if they have "off-site" locations?
They sure do. They get it by tanker truck more than once a day.
Your Dry Van looked good too. But that Reefer is tight..bruuu...buddy...
I agree. My dry van looked pretty good with this truck because dry van is pretty clean but I do think it looks a lot better with the reefer.. and I appreciate it buddy thank you so much 🙏🏼
Classic Mavrick driver and all of these new sterling wheel holders ......
He was speeding whenever he got there, and he was speeding whenever he was leaving. I hate guys like that.
Congratulations on the new reefer. All the best for a very successful road ahead for you Brrrp
Thank you very much buddy I really appreciate that 🙏🏼
Carry a pump up sprayer,a gallon of beach and bug spray.a broom.buy you a air hose that hooks to your glad hand.keep your trailer very clean.trust God.
Will do buddy thank you so much🙏🏼 have a blessed day my friend
Like a kid in a candy store, awesome. Stay safe Bandit
Rooster
Thank you brother. I appreciate you and I appreciate all the tips you’ve given me about reefer stuff 🙏🏼
I will definitely have to do that next time I come through there.
drive safe
Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼
Super video 🖐️👍👋🥰🇨🇿😉
Thank you 👍🙏🏼
good luck with that unit thats why they built peterbuilt to haul reefer load and cows but i never did that cow crap im sure that smell is in the sleeper too
Did you happen to be in Georgia earlier today? Good video as always man!
Yes sir. I went down to Florida and I’m on my way to ATL right now.
@@OTRBandit right on. Preciate the heads up. I drive local though. I went from deep southwest ga to highlands, nc. An 11 hour trip in total
@@hurielroblero7172Lucky you. Hopefully you get to go home every day.
Where did you purchase you truck from.
I bought it from some old guy who stopped driving. It wasn’t a dealership.
Does your new reefer trailer use the fuel from the truck tanks? I am clueless as to how reefer trailers work 😕
Reefer has its own fuel tank. The one that I have on here is 50 gallons.
I e been to the Iowa 80 in a tour bus love visiting that place
I really wish I had some extra time to spend there because it looks like a pretty cool place.
@@OTRBandit make time for a stop it’s worth the time spent chrome shop is unreal plus lots of food options. Roll on buddy stay safe
Congrats on the first reefer load! Cookies are a good sign. Better than bull balls at least.
If you have time, next time you go to that large truckstop, check out the museum
I will definitely make extra time next time I come through here. Wish I remembered I was gonna drive by that place. I wouldn’t have made my first stop up at the Casey’s.
Dude, does the reefer have a separate fuel tank or does it feed of your truck tanks? Your excitement is infectious!!!!!
It has a separate fuel tank. It’s 50 gallons. So now I can carry 350 gallons total. 300 in my truck and 50 for the reefer.
and make sure u get a Reefer wash out to for next load Buddy Ok Buddy Yessss sirrrr 😂😂😂😂
I got one up in Iowa before I picked up my first load. He didn’t look like he needed shot after that. I only used my leaf blower.
That laser thermometer you just bought will be good for checking the wheel hub temps also. Wheel hub fires are nasty to put .out.
I was checking my wheel hubs constantly and they did not get hot. But yesterday I was checking around the trailer here at the house and three of those wheel hubs didn’t have oil in them. so I had to put some of that Lucas hub oil in them.
Hey have you ever come up with a break checker and have you had fun with the a-hole at the judicial courts.
That blue tank trailer is called a frac tank. Typically seen in the oil field industry. I use to haul and clean them. (Crude oil or dirty water)
Appreciate that buddy. I’ve seen them around but I never knew what they were for.
hello i watch your video from france and i love them be save on the road and continue alain
Thank you very much for watching all the way from France. I really appreciate that. 🙏🏼
If there is a truck parked in the door that they want you to park in and it's past your appointment time, even tho you were on time, will they still charge you a late fee
I don’t think they will change you then.
Yeah buddy you make me lmao! We all make stupid mistakes at one time or another, but I love the fact that you can laugh at yourself. Best of luck with your reefer….. get’r done!😁
Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼
Saludos desde panama
Hello Panama 🇵🇦🙏🏼
Bad ass truck 💯👍🏽
Thank you very much buddy 🙏🏼
Enjoy your show, truck is fantastic…but why are your chicken lights on the side not working??? Are they tied to the headlights???
Thank you very much buddy. They are connected to auxiliary switch and I sometimes forget to turn that on.
Is a glider fit for use in cali big fellah?
Can’t go to California with this one. But even if I could, I still wouldn’t go.
