ENJOY!
Thanks!
Thank you Paul for your support as it helps keep me able to share the cars. Greatly appreciated, Lou
Thank you so much for filming this car love it
Happy to read "love it" :-)
I am a MOPAR guy but I appreciate all cars. This incredibly detailed and maintained Mercury is a true Gem! Two thumbs up!
Hi jcnme27, High praise with "Two thumbs up!" :-) Lou
JCNME27 - Most Mopar guys have respect for Fomoco products, if for no other reason because many of the bowtie crowd are so arrogant.
The feeling is mutual for Mopars amongst Ford guys too, usually because Mopar has a distinctive idle that scares many Generic Motors offerings back onto the off-ramp...
A rare beautiful car, I wished the 70s never changed.
Hi Jerry, Happy to read you enjoy the rarity and beauty of this car :-) Lou
It's fantastic, Lou! The front end, hood, and grille look great together & there's plenty of good looks on the interior with the unique dash & Hurst shifter, too. Bobby is right, the GTs are rare to find & see. Thanks for sharing this one with us!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Glad to receive a "fantastic" from you :-) You're welcome, Lou
I know that FORD likes to save money and pass that saving on to the valued customer, but i remember this car which fooled me because it looked like the rear of the 1970 Comet GT but with one more Red outboard lens where the inboards on both cars had the Reverse white light .
It was a mean looking car and that you couldn't mistake for any other model.
This car is absolutely gorgeous. I prefer the Cyclone GT over the Spoiler myself because I like muted sleeper type cars. Wild stripes and wacky colors are for the kids. I want luxury and sophistication in my muscle cars. Of all the Ford products with factory hidden headlights, I've never known a model to have that open/close valve designed into the system so you can operate them without the switch. That is super rare. And nothing says 1970 like two-tone green. Great color and video Lou.
Hi Kenneth White, Glad you enjoy this "sophisticated muscle car" :-) The underhood open/close hideaway headlights valve was a new one for me too. Thank you for the kind words on the video, Lou
@@loucostabile I had 67 Cougar and a 71 Cyclone
GT, both had a underhood switch for the headlight doors.
Words can’t describe how great that was Lou!
High praise Paul!
Unless the odometer is wrong that car just turned over 100 thousand miles which is remarkable given how clean and original it is. I am always happy to see people drive and enjoy their classics. It pays respect to the designers and the people who built and service them. Great find Lou thanks for sharing.
Hi Rich, Happy to read you appreciate the condition of this car :-) I enjoy driving the cars, and nice when the Care Takers drive the cars too, Lou
What a unique car. Not your everyday camaro for sure.
Glad you enjoy the uniqueness of this one Daniel Scott.
I like this Ivy Cyclone and I'm a fan of metallic paint. Very unique front end with that square in the middle. Looks cool. Seems bigger inside than I expected. Of course I'm lovin the headlights. I always enjoy the trunky treats, glad to see em included. I like that big engine too. All in all a winner for me. Another "makes me smile" vid! Thank u!
Hi WickedFireFly13, You're line "makes me smile" is EXACTLY what happens to me when you comment. Thank you for sharing what you see, and you're welcome, Lou
A real stunner Lou. Man, those Merc's were so good looking. I never met a 351 Cleveland I didn't like.
Hi Audie Conrad, Glad this one is a "stunner" for you :-) Those 351 Cleveland's can get up and go, Lou
Beautiful car, nice lines and a good balance of comfort and power. So why didn’t it become a classic?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one, and I would have noticed I think.
Thanks for the video Lou and introducing this unique car.
Hi shizuokaBLUES, Glad you enjoy the design of this one :-) "So why didn't it become a classis?" In my opinion, the car was not as popular as the Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, Charger, Challenger, and even Mercury had the Cougar as a sports / muscle car, so now you have a "full sized" muscle car, and some BIG 1970's competition. I'd imagine difficult to find restoration parts too. Regarding the video, I do like to find and share the unique ones, and you're welcome, Lou
Oh Lou. This green Cyclone is truly one of the hottest cars I have seen on your channel, big bro. WOW. My baseball dad Amos Otis tells me there is NO WAY my floppy sneakers are staying on my stocking feet with this one, man lol. WHAT a beauty.....that front and back and open pillarless side....from another era that is so alive, once it is experienced. That sound of the Cleveland 351 was EPIC, Lou. Thanks for showing us Bobby and Sue's pride and joy. :) JV Johnny
Hi JV Johnny, Happy to read you enjoy this Hot Green Machine :-) Glad you enjoy the sounds from this car, Lou

Wow Lou! You know me I love Mercury and especially cyclones! I love this model year and I love the front end of this car and the rear end of this car. A color very rarely seen. He sure has a treasure there and it sure sounds awesome! Thanks Lou!
Hi steve Flad, We have a Winner for you :-) You're welcome, Lou
Super nice car , always liked the Cyclones . That's one is one of the nicest ones I've seen . Thanks for sharing these wonderful cars !
Glad you enjoy this one, and you're welcome :-)
Lou , were my eyes deceiving me or did the odometer actually read 1,374 ? Since 1972 ! A rare gem of a car
HI Michael Pacini, yes, that what it reads. Since they drive this one, I'm guessing there is a "1" that would be there in front of 01374.6. Glad you enjoy this "rare gem" :-) Lou
I LOVE this Merc! I wouldn't change a thing - exactly the car, color & options I would have ordered in 1969-70.
Hi Shawn, Happy to read "I LOVE this Merc!" :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I remember I was 9 yrs.old my father had one of these, it was orange with the bottom being black. I thought it was one of the coolest cars back then. This video brought me back that's what is cool with cars, is the memories. 🇺🇸

Awesome Lou《☆》Not a flashy car but the 351 tag on the side & the rumble speak volumes. With a Hurst 4spd & 140 speedo You know it means business ☻
Hi BDOG JR, A Sleeper that's a Keeper :-) Lou
BDOG JR.. MY DAD OWNED 1 = HAD A 351 CLEVELAND 4 BRL = THIS CAR WOULD DO 60 MPH IN FIRST GEAR = SHIFT TO SECOND AT RIGHT AROUND 105 MPH = AND BARRY THE SPEDO UP TO ABOUT 147 MPH = HIS WAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.. = AND IM NOT SHUR OF THE REAR END GEARS.. BUT IT WAS A HOOT TO DRIVE...
@@loucostabile ITMWAS NOT FAST FAST = BUT IT WAS VERY CAPABLE OF MOVIN ON DOWN THE ROAD
The 70-71 Cyclone is such a mean looking car. A 70 Cyclone Spoiler with a 429 SCJ/4 speed/3.91 gears is my favorite muscle car ever built by Mercury. Like the 68-69 Cyclone fastbacks tooAlways preferred Mercury's over Ford's. Mercury built a nicer car overall than Ford did. I'd take a first gen Cougar over a Mustang any day of the week
70 Cyclone Spoiler with a 429 SCJ/4 speed/3.91 oh yeah, awsome choice
Hi Jeremy, Here is a link to that favorite Mercury you enjoy :-) Enjoy! Lou ruclips.net/video/1LE95s1Wkws/видео.html
Nice very nice thanks, Lou.
You're welcome mad dog morgan.
You know what Ford was very very much particular about their things...everything has their own identity and unique factor! Take engines... Flathead, Y block and now this 350 Cleveland are so symphonic to hear to! Just a perfect Lullaby to uplift your mood from upset to cheerful! Cleveland is one of the sweetest sounding engine, don't forget the symphony we get to hear from Detomaso Pantera is because it also have Cleveland!
I will say ""Save planet earth because 350 Cleveland only exist on Earth""..
Hi Ckryse S, I liked your comment "and now this 350 Cleveland are so symphonic to hear to! Just a perfect Lullaby to uplift your mood from upset to cheerful!" :-) Lou

Hi Tracy M, Happy to read this car / video brings memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
My sister had the Cyclone GT with the 351 Cleveland 4V and a 4 speed transmission and the gear ratio was a 373 Ford 9inch and the car was fast! My brother in law had a 72 Torino gt with a 351 Windsor and they raced one night and my sister put multiple car lengths on him! She also raced a friend of hers who had a 67 Elcamino with a 396 Big block and 4 sd and she roasted him as well!!! She never wanted to race her car but some people wouldn't leave her alone until she punished them!!!!
Hi William Ole School Arendt, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your family's cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Cool Car!
Glad you think this one is cool :-)
Got an original hurst shifter handle too found way back
Nice
Cool Merc for sure and love this body style Lou. Very nice!!
Hi Ed B., Glad you enjoy this "cool" car :-) Lou
This car escapes my memory. I would like to think if I seen it, I would remember it. WAIT! If a car parks in the woods and Daveman isn't around to see it., does it exist? Doh! Dear lord I love this car! And I love that nose! I would call that a Goose Nose. Why? If the car wants to get playful with another car in front of it - she just edges up from behind, and gooses it. (you shouldn't of asked why, Lou. Heh) A triad of Wows, given easily!
Hi ImTheDaveman, Thank you for making me laugh out loud after reading "if a car parks in the woods and the Daveman isn't around to see it., does it exist?" comment :-) :-) :-) WONDERFUL! Lou
I’d like to know if the aluminum intake manifold came standard.. The rest of the car looks stock so I suppose it did..
Hi Tom, I'm not sure. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge, Lou
Cool :)
Glad you enjoy this "cool" one :-)
Welcome :)
Glad you're enjoying the Channel & along for the ride :-)
clevelands have a deep rumble to them because of the canted valves, at high rpm chevy's canted valves big block, most notably the 396, have a similar growl
Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge regarding the sounds of this car.
351 was one best engine ford ever made.
High praise Mark Baker, thank you for viewing and sharing.
Lou can you do more model railroads please
Hi josh weiner, I recently did this one, here is the link. Enjoy! Lou ruclips.net/video/hVbrps_CuTM/видео.html
Clint Eastwood should of used this car in Grand Torino!
Joe Labriola It would’ve been called Gran Cyclone
Off my lawn before I give you my prized posession ☻

Simulator to my dads Torino GT's with the hidaway headlights.
Dad's got a nice car Damon D Master. Thank you for viewing and sharing.
manual trans and 351, you get a little better fuel economy than cobra jet 429, as well as a classy two tone paint scheme without embarrassing stripes and tail.
Hi Scott Brady, Sounds like this one is a winner for you :-) Lou
The good ones had a big block
Hi Jon Foss, Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts. Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
