Aww this trip was so nice - I love the slow travel kind of vibe! Are you able to pick strawberries even now? I kind of want to do a strawberry picking experience but we’ll be going in October
Just subscribed to your channel. Your content is awesome. My family of 6 is planning to travel to Japan and Korea from December 20, 2023 to Jan 5, 2024 but were are debating whether its better to stay in Japan for Christmas and then go to Korea. Or is better to stay in Korea for Christmas and then go to Japan. Is there lots of things to do and are places open during Christmas or New Year's? Also my teenage kids are interested in cafes (affordable since you did indicate that they are overpriced) and manga, so where would you recommend for us to stay? Is there any family onsen in Tokyo or near Tokyo. Appreciate any advise you can provide.
Great video. Question regarding booking hotels. We have 2 kids also. Looking at hotels, it seems prices are more than double when we put 4 people instead of 2. Are japanese hotels normally going to give you trouble if you just book under 2 people but have 2 extra kids? Thanks
Thanks for watching! tbh we haven't done this but we do know what you're talking about. We have found places that don't do the extra charging for the room / person. It is annoying but gotta try different places and book early helps. I think this is becoming a lot harder because Japan is becoming a real hot spot for tourists and hotels / airbnbs are maximising on it. good luck in what you find or do! 🥳✌️
You may want to look into Airbnb, because hotels in Japan will either charge you extra for the extra people or won’t let you be in the rooms at all due to safety reasons. Hotel rooms are very small to begin with. My husband and I stayed at APA hotel once- the place was 119 ft.² and we didn’t even have space to open our luggage. It was a bad experience and we felt claustrophobic with just the two of us. Lastly, the hotels really like cleaning your rooms daily- for sanitary reasons. The country is extremely clean and they would not take no for an answer. They were coming in our rooms, making the beds and emptying the trash even when we told them not to they said we didn’t have a choice. I felt a little annoyed by this, but nothing went missing.
Firstly, much love and thanks from a fellow Aussie 🫶 you guys are seriously goals and living my family's ultimate dream 🙌 Apologies if you've covered this in another video, but just curious if you recommend hiring a car at all? We're taking our kids (4 and 2 yo) to Japan in June and thinking of hiring a car for the day to drive out to the Lake Kawaguchi area for something different. Just curious to hear your experience with car hire/driving in Japan and if you recommend it or not. Additional context, it' our 4th time to Japan but first with the kiddos.
