    I did this 3 weeks ago and just noticed some signs of new pearls! Would love to see an update of how both these pots of pearls look like now

    This video was so helpful to me! I kept seeing people plant the stems trailing off like you said you used to, but I knew that wouldn't work for me because I started with a single stem!! And it wouldn't become full on its own. And he's still only about 6 inches long. This method will work so much better for me😁 thanks for sharing!

    I also recently learned that you can cut between the pearls and place them in that way. Just leave a bit of string attached to each pearl and place them down.

    hi! How often would you say you sprayed the top of it when you first propagated it? and at what point would you say you stopped spraying and transitioned to fully watering it?

    This was so informative! Thank you very much! I'm waiting for my variegated sop cuttings and was looking for some advice. I'm still very insecure about watering them.. Should i water or mist them just a little right after putting them on soil? Did you leave them like that right away? If you did, when did you first water them after you put them on soil?

    • @SuccyCrafts
      @SuccyCrafts  4 года назад +1

      Hello, I watered them after placing them in the soil. You can mist them but don’t let them get too dry. Keep them in bright indirect sun.

      @@SuccyCrafts Thank you so much! ❤️ They arrived! I decided to put them on sphagnum instead of soil. Keeping them in bright direct sun just like you told me. I killed two sop (not variegated) a couple of years ago. This is my third attempt. However, I didn't know that much about plants back then. So fingers crossed.. 🤞

    I’m going to try your method. I already had over watered my plant so I cut the ends to hopefully propagate and I tried water, they’ve just been rotting in the bottles. So I’m going to try this with my remaining snippets of string of pearls, wish me luck! So how often do you water while propagating this way?

    • @SuccyCrafts
      @SuccyCrafts  4 года назад +4

      Water it deeply the first time, until the water drains out from the bottom. Wait until the soil becomes dry again to water again. You can always do a dipstick test by inserting a wooden skewer or chopstick all the way to the bottom of your pot. Periodically check it for dampness. When the whole stick is dry, it's time to water. Make sure to place your pot in a bright but shaded location, no direct sunlight. Good Luck!

    so you didn't propagate in water first to get any of the roots going? I have some strings in water right now but am wondering if I should take them out and switch to this method

    • @SuccyCrafts
      @SuccyCrafts  5 лет назад

      Kate McAuliffe Water propagation works as well. It just depends how you want to do it. This is just the way I do it and have great luck. But I can see how starting them in water and then planting them in soil would work just as well.

    • @SuccyCrafts

      About every week or sometimes even longer. Waiting for the soil to dry between waterings. The important part is to keep them in bright shade. Like under a canopy. No direct sunlight.

      I use succulent soil, in a planter with drainage. I keep them in bright indirect sunlight outdoors and water them until the soil is completely dry. I use a moisture meter just to be safe. It takes practice, sooooo it never hurts to try again. Good luck*

    • @SuccyCrafts
      @SuccyCrafts  4 года назад +1

      I recommend you don’t spray them, it’s not enough water. Water them like you would any other plant, like in your kitchen sink. The only difference is how often you water them. Rule of thumb, every two weeks or so. Using a moisture meter helps!!
