Looking to upgrade the stereo in my 2006 TL w/ NAV. It sounds decent as it is, especially for it being a 2006 model but I love my music when I’m driving. I’m also a certified Honda/Acura technician but I still had questions on how to wire up the sound system I wanted to install. Great video.

Does the faceplate work properly on the head units you offer on your website? While I do like the Kenwood I was hoping to go with the Pioneer touchscreen head unit. But I definitely don't want to have gaps where the faceplate goes over the headunit. Have you had any customer complaints about this by chance? Also is it possible to add a second amp (I plan on upgrading the stock amp with the 5 channel PNP amp.) While I do plan on adding the 8in free air sub I also want 2x 12's for the trunk.
Have you ever had the outside temp not work any more after installing radio on 08 tl notice it doesn't read temp anymore just stays at 90 ° already replaced sensor twice ?
Just got my full install kit for a 2005 nav TL yesterday and the install went great. Great kit, super clean and easy to do. The only problem I had was the center speaker had some noise. I unplugged it and the noise stopped but it does worry me a little. Is that normal or do I need to pull it back apart and check stuff? I have subs and an amp in the trunk, so I planned to just leave the factory sub unplugged and don't mind doing the same with the center, just so I can revert the car to factory if I ever want to later. That should be okay right? What causes the center channel noise though? It sounds kind of like alternator whine but it's only the center speaker.

I am installing the same radio but in my 08 base, but the harness from the radio seems like it does not have a connection to the amp. Did you use the solid blue wire he hooked to the amp?

Weird question. On my 2006 Acura TL, I have a very tiny antenna male connector on the car, which does not connect to a after market radio. I have looked everywhere for an adapter, but I am finding everywhere says I don't need one. Help.

So my 2004 Acura TL has the navigation but it just says please check disc, I can’t even turn on the radio or change my clock, if I just put an after market radio and put a sub in the trunk do I even need the navigation system ?
@@AcuraAudioGarage yea I can’t hear anything from my factory radio and my nav isn’t working, I might have to try and clean the disc but I’m not sure if the disc is even in the drive but if my radio isn’t plowing on right now will it even work if I put a new radio and subwoofer in ?
@@yvnghvnter1139 You are going to have to figure out what's not working in you car first. It's probably the nav dvd player in the trunk. Pretty common failure. It may also just need the lens cleaned. I've had 3 of them break, 2 lasted an extra year or so by running a lens cleaner once in a while. But if your factory amp isn't working anymore then this install will also require a factory amp bypass kit or a bunch of rewiring in your car. The bypass kit from them is like $60 and is super easy also. Handy to have one because these factory amps die very often also. I'm on my 4th factory amp, lol.

it depends how it was installed but this video shows you where the subwoofer hookup is just watch the first 5 minutes. question. Just put in a new single din head unit and subs into my 2008 Acura tl. I got the everything wired up, both harnesses for the nav is all powered up. but while i was in this process i noticed that my power windows for the passenger, and 2 rear windows went out, along with the temperature button lights on both sides of the nav. I was wondering if that had anything to do with the installment or specifically that last white pin box that was left as something we "didn't need" before i take a look at the fuse box and start troubleshooting.
Start with checking the fuses. The white plug you are referring too is for the factory XM connection. It wouldn't be the cause of the issue. Also those are different electrical circuits.

you could install a double din, if you don't want that you could use the tesla screen. Also there is a video/carplay solution that will plug into the factory screen you can find some videos of it online.
microphone up in the left corner of the windshield. you can remove the weather stripping on the door to make it easier to snake the wire. As for the USB cable we normally either drill a whole in the fist pocket or run it all the way to inside the center console.
If your radio doesn't have RCA ports you are going to need a LOC. The factory system is designed to send a low level signal to the factory amplifier via speaker wire with specific lines for shields.
I'm struggling to find a way to go aftermarket without having that screen blank and stupid looking. I've been shopping those Tesla style screens, but I cant get a straight answer about the climate control working, and will the nav work even though it's a non nav car? This car is ging to be the most ass pain than I've ever gotten into.
By the way well I'll email you but what would this per se cost I've called two folks and also a very respected person I know and it's about the same as what they're telling me but and I of course I haven't looked around yet but I want to know exactly what all this should cost I guess I'll look in the district description
you could do the tablet mod. We have a radio kit that is $300 PNP. You could also get a double din and then do the climate control conversion so you get rid of the nav screen but then you will lose the sub display. You have options, the tesla screen is the most straightforward but it is expensive.

I’m looking at an alpine ILX-407 but it has a built in internal amp 16W RMS 4 channel/50 watt peak, will that mess with the amp already in the tl?
Do you just wire tap the 68 ohm resistor for the Navigation or do you cut the blue and pink wire?

yes you did the right thing its just noise being amplified because that channel has no audio source so the right thing is to just disconnect it.

if you don't care about it then you can remove it but if it doesn't work changing the radio won't make it work again.

you could install a double din, if you don't want that you could use the tesla screen. Also there is a video/carplay solution that will plug into the factory screen you can find some videos of it online.

correct it just has the 26 pin grey plug and 20 pin blue plug. It has the standard antenna
