The bell jar - poor Sylvia, sad but yet beautiful .. like many artworks that spring from that place … just keep placing pen to paper doesn’t matter how long it takes ❤ looking forward to seeing more x
Gosh yeah :( I feel like she was definitely ahead of her time. The bell jar is so brutally honest and reading it now, I’m glad things have changed on the subject of mental illness but I just wish Sylvia was understood and shown more compassion when she was alive. Thank you for your kind words🤍✨
Definitely agreed! ❤ the bell jar spirals and at times especially towards the end it can get overwhelming to read.. but it is worth getting through just to have the experience of it.. and in a weird way there’s also the realisation that people experiencing inner turmoil, its been happening so long and to so many.. Sometimes I wonder what works did we really miss out on with the loss of Plath and Woolf .. i love my sketchbooks but for a very long time I couldn’t put pen to paper , I thought that’s it I’m not the artist I wished I could be .. and now in my late 30s I’m realising that well , to be an artist all you have to do is your art..sketchbooks are such a comfort , so not only do I now enjoy mine but I love seeing videos like this of people enjoying theirs too 🫶 so thank you for sharing x
