Clemson made a play to strip Book in the EZ and ND made a play to force a fumble 6 + a fumble 3. Game could have gone either way but ND made the better plays at the end
Lol, you’re forgetting Clemson basically gave Notre dame 10 points with turnovers in the red zone. They played terrible on defense. Without their starting linebackers their defense drops off considerably. Notre dame has a great O line, no doubt about it but on a neutral field and Clemson healthy this game would have a completely different outcome.
Norte Dame finally has the athletes to compete with the big boys. They also have the size. The D line and O line are BIG BOYS. anthony hampton oh Clemsons team was high school players? All that 5 star talent? Yeah I’m sure Travis Etienne was a high school player. ND shut him down he had like 28 yards on 18 carries. They rushed for just 34 yards all together. ND forced them to be one dimensional all their yardage came through DJs arm. He is legit. There wasn’t much of a drop in QB play TL wouldn’t have done much better than DJ that night. ND rushed for over 200 yards and 3 TDs against a top 10 defense who many were saying would shut us down. ND with virtually no receiving corps and Clemson with a healthy secondary still three for over 300 yards and a TD against them. ND also left a ton of points on the board the first half score could’ve been worse. ND could’ve been up by 17 points or more instead of just 13 going into the half. Clemson is lucky they were in the position to come back.

Based on what I've seen from DJ it doesn't seem like there's a huge drop-off at QB after Trevor, which makes me lean towards Trevor not really deserving the Heisman because he isn't absolutely pivotal to his team like Cam, Manzel, or RGIII were. He realistically is still coasting on the media hype of beating Bama almost 2 years ago. He couldn't make the tight throws in man coverage against LSU last year. He's incredibly talented. Considering the conference he's in, and the talent around him, he should be doing better in the regular season than he has the past 2 seasons, though.

Agree. Clemson had no weakness at QB. Our issue was defense. Our list of injured on defense grew this weekend. If a substantial quantity cannot get well, Clemson is not going to be able to nationally compete and may not make the ACC Championship. Congrats to the Irish - big win.
@jamar reid Before I answer, I want to make it clear that Clemson doesn't make excuses. When we're beat, we congratulate the other team. Notre Dame won Saturday and their fans should be escatitc. Clemson cannot seriously or consistently compete with the number of key defensive players out right now for either injury or protocol. We fielded deep into our bench during overtime with ND because so many were cobbled. We even struggled for that reason against Boston College. It seems harder for Clemson to have our defensive lead (Skalski) out than our QB (Lawrence). DJ can compete at a high level with little to no drop-off. Same isn't true without Skalski, Tyler Davis and Mike Jones or a COVID recovering Xavier Thomas. If a sufficient number get well, we will be a top team, make it to the ACC Championship, have a defensive answer to Notre Dame, and likely win the conference and get a slot to the Natty. Any top team that couldn't play a sufficient quantity of its 1st string, particularly with the number of players that Clemson lost to graduation or the draft last year, would have a talent drop-off. Experience matters. Look at Ian Book. Clemson had his number last time we played him. I think that score was 31-3. Ian Book's experiences helped him have an excellent game against Clemson. I am not going to be a Clemson homer. I'll fairly assess the team. Am I hoping we get healthy and back on the field? Heck yes. It's not in my hands, though. I cannot heal people. I'll just love my Tigers regardless.

It was definitely an upset because Clemson played great second half defense until the only time it matters. Then there souls left the field and all you saw was helmets and pads with no fight left. ND had fight the whole game. They wanted it more. I took clemson ML at half +190. Such a shitty loss but it is what it is. I would do it ten times again and come out on top overall.
I agree! Notre Dame proved they ARE can CAN be a great team right at the moment that matter most. The rest of the game doesn't matter unless you finish it off. The last minute and a half of regulation and the 2nd OT were the most crucial parts of the game. And they delivered.

If ND scores 4 TDs for 28 points on those drives instead of the 9 points they did, the game would not have even been close. My point is that maybe Clemson could play better with Trevor Lawrence, but ND could have played a lot better themselves. Let's see a rematch!
I totally agree with you.... Notre Dame is very well able and has the talent to beat any team including alabama but just because they have not yet, doesn't mean they can't.....there are many times Notre Dame doesn't play their full potential......

Kyren balled out, he is definitely improved through this season on his blocking and it is very necessary to be able to pick up blitzes.
