Stirb nicht vor mir (Don't Die Before Me) is the sixth song on Rammstein's album Rosenrot. The song has a few different spellings of the title on official releases. Standard edition: Stirb nicht vor mir next line Don't die before me, Limited edition: Stirb nicht vor mir (Don't die before me), Vinyl: Stirb nicht vor mir / Don't die before me. Initially, the song was one of the first Emigrate songs written during the time when Till Lindemann was still part of the project. It was eventually reworked for Rosenrot along with the rest of Rammstein and to feature Sharleen Spiteri. Till called Sharleen to request the role. The idea originally came from producer Jacob Hellner. On September 12, 2005, French fansite RammsteinWorld reported that Universal Music France shared the news that the French version of the song featuring Zazie would be released on the French edition of the album. And the version with Sharleen Spiteri would be released in English-speaking territories. Contrary to popular belief, the French version of the song was not heard by journalists during a press event in 2005, as no magazine mentioned the song in their issue at that time. All the magazines mention the same nine songs in advance, and Stirb nicht vor mir was not among them.
