@AM kim always played her best/close to her best against caroline, and then would lose matches cause she played bad like against like petrova at that one ao, i also think caroline after she improved her first serve so much in 2017-2018 would have been able to hang around with kim in some of those sets they played in 2009-2012, i mean just look at this match, caroline's first serve and forehand were so much worse than in 2017-2018
@@henrym6758 I don't think Kim always played "her best" against Caroline whatsoever. Take this very same match, Kim was overpowering Wozniacki with so much ease, she could've won it 6-2 6-3/6-3 6-3. Had Kim not made several silly unforced errors, this match would've taken a much shorter time. Same with the other two matches they played against each other. Clijsters was way better than Caroline in every department, except - maybe - the serve.
@@henrym6758 kim can do everything better than wozniacki. Even counter punch and has more power. Wozniacki peak was 2010 to 2012 and kim owned her. She won slam because tour was inconsistent. She was never a match for kim. And kim actually jad a forehand not pluff
Kim could defend like pushniacki but had the firepower to win points, not depending on errors. Her comeback match against in form garbine showed how superior early 80s gen was!

But that's in comparison to Serena, Venus, and Henin. Clijsters would still be a leading player in the current era, but not by that much.
And still some people think 2010 field was more deep than 2000s when likes of henin kim would've destroyed pusher gen😂😂. No wonder they lacked big champions. New gen looks better finally

Gosh, Wozniacki's game was so boring to watch. The only time she aimed for the lines was when she served.
It's crazy to realize that Kim was already out of shape here and still managed to defeat the world number one in straight sets.
That's because Caro is not the real number one. Caro didnt realize before 2012 was the year of power player the rise of WTA big 3.

Clijsters would have won the AO easily this year had she not rolled her ankle against Li Na. She was light years ahead of Sharapova and Azarenka.
