The reason this did not happen was not because they were born too early and were not accepted, but because the band, which had already received acclaim both in Japan and abroad, suddenly disbanded immediately after returning to Japan due to the divorce of Kato and his wife after their tour in the United Kingdom. I can't even believe I found this here! This has been a favorite song since I first heard it in '76, and I never dreamed I'd see them perform 'live'. Thank you for this--I'll be grinning all night!
Saw them on Whistle test back in the day and went out and bought Hot! Menu and Black Ship soon afterwards. I still play these two albums today, especially when I'm driving.
Had I not lived in Tokyo at the time, never would have known this band but heard them on KVAN radio in Portland, Oregon one Saturday afternoon and bought the vinyl LP

I don't care how old Mika probably is now .. I'm so in love with her. The whole band is phenomenal. This makes me feel that the Japanese appreciate good Western music a LOT more than we appreciate good Japanese music. I have always heard that there is a lot of amazing music from Japan. I've never taken the time to look into it until covid. I have become a convert thanks largely to this band! If anyone can suggest other amazing Japanese rock bands .. please do! I'm all ears.

僕も76年高壱でした。最低ランクの高校志望して高校入試勉強を避けて、いつも空エレキでシャカシャカ練習してました。高校行ったら頭の毛を沢山生やしてヘアバンド巻いてロンドンブーツ履いてタメゴローになりたかったです。

Jpopとなり、サザンで日本語ロックバンドが完成…となるのかな…あ、YMOは別格中の別格ね。
ブッダス・ナルシーシーのジャック松村が参加していた時期のレア映像。これまで「ハイベイビー」くらいしか見られなかった。しかもギターは永井ではなく高中。過渡期の映像。そもそもこれは小原礼の楽曲で、本人が弾いているテイクが最高なのだが作品としては「ワンステップ」にしか残っておらず。ジャックのベースは、小原、後藤とも違うフランジャー系の空間エフェクトをかましたスタイルで残念だが歴代では今一つのテイクだが見られてよかった！！
