Origami Wristband / Bracelet Origami Holder

  • [Simple] How to fold an ordinary sheet of printer paper into an adjustable wristband that can be worn tightly and securely around your wrist without using tape or glue. You can decorate the bracelet by coloring it and/or by sliding flat objects into the pockets and, with just one extra fold, you can lock the objects very securely into place -- no tape or glue! If you use bigger paper you can make ankle bands, neck bands or even head bands! If you don't have bigger paper you can attach several smaller bands together in the same way I showed you how to attach one band to itself.

    Hey Jeremy, I am a 12 year old that really enjoys your origami. I started watching your videos in 2012 and since then I have had a blast! Before I watched your videos I was watching Rob’s world, making ninja stars all the time. One day I stumbled across your one-piece super boomerang video. I folded it and checked out your channel, I noticed you are very unique from any other folder. I can’t really explain it very well, but you make models in action, not some model that just sits there and does nothing. I’m the type of person that prefers action over decoration. You perfectly fit that category and I have not found any other designer that is better than you. I own your first two books and they are both INCREDIBLE. Thank you so very much for what you do. One thing is maybe could you make some more complex models? (I completely understand you have viewers with less experience, though it is hard for me to find a good model to fold regarding I have made so many of your models.) Again, I love your models and thank you SO much for what you do!

      Hi EggoMyLego, Thanks for your feedback and for recognizing that I focus on models that do stuff rather than static subject representations. I do have plans to teach more flashers, but, in general, complex models don't seem to resonate with the vast majority of my viewers. Like take for instance my Haunted House Pop-up card. At 36 minutes long, it was more complex than most of my models and I thought it was pretty neat how two ghosts, a house and a pop-up mechanism could be made from a single square. I worked long and hard designing it, figuring out the best way to teach it, and filming and editing it, but it has only gotten 17,000 views, which is a fifth of what my simple Ultimate Flicker received even though it's been up a week longer. Similarly, The Scary Clown, Creepy Claw Airplane, Spikey Wig were all over 20-minute videos, but they don't have as many views as my recent simple models. The reality is complex models and even high-intermediate models take a lot longer to design, film and edit and my impression is they frustrate and scare off a lot of would-be origami fanatics, so I'm leaning toward making simple action models for at least a few weeks and see how that goes. If you want complex models, I'd recommend Henry Pham, Kade Chan, or Rickman origami: ruclips.net/user/FacePalmTree .

    If u make enough wristbands, u can connect them together to make a belt

    • @jeremyshaferorigami
      @jeremyshaferorigami  7 лет назад +3

      YES! This lock works especially well for the buckle part (the part that you lock and unlock when putting on and taking off the belt) but there's even a better and stronger way to secure the other pieces rather permanently.

    • @jeremyshaferorigami
      @jeremyshaferorigami  7 лет назад +4

      I started unicycling when I was 14. It took me two weeks to learn how to ride it. I learned at Camp Winnarainbow. Well, I actually started learning at Camp Winnarainbow but I was finally able to do it the day after I got home from camp and got my own unicycle. Once I had my own unicycle, it took me just a half hour before I was able to ride around the block.
