Good video. Always interesting to see the different helmet covers/camo used in the field.
Thanks! Camouflaged stahlhelms fascinate me, so I thought I’d make a few videos on the topic!
Achtung!! Excellent video 📹!!
Thank you!
one thing that i cant find answer for anywhere is if something similiar to normandy camo pattern was used on eastern front?
The Germans mixed wallpaper paste with whitewash so that it would adhere better to the helmet.
I see a repro from International Military Antiques.
That specific helmet is actually one of their refurbished helmets. Thanks for watching!
@@its-antiquitas I have seen it before.
@cesarretamoza5243 So I did a restoration on a shell and painted it exactly as the pattern in the picture, with the soldier and his rifle grenade fixed, laying down. I also took the picture file, went to the store had it printed and put it in a frame with the helmet.
Looks amazing and had many offers on it.. It's been featured in a German Helmet restoration group.
Much better than the IMA repros that are painted up with camouflage but the entire decal showing..
Pro tip, they normally painted right over the decals. Especially after the order from the German Armamments authority, in August 1943 of No More decals being applied from the factory, except police helmets..
That's what..
