The blades are sharp, very sharp. The one minus that everyone should be aware of is you need to be very careful taking the cutting unit out of the box. There’s a plastic guard so you don’t cut fingers as you take the main unit out of the box but it’s not taped down. As I took the unit out, I ended cutting a piece of my shirt. The plastic guard moved and my shirt touched one of the blades.
Nice mower! Just picked up a used one. Excited to try it out. Also grass flap makes an awesome chute blocker for it. I have one for my 48 in mower and love it!
That’s awesome and thanks for watching. Best advice is add a drainzit hose and hour meter for easy oil changes. I do like the grass flap as you don’t have to drill in the deck.
That’s awesome! Also don’t forget to grease the two bearings every 7-10 hours which are located under the deck on the two spindles. Besides that you should be good to go.
I wish there was an upgrade from my Toro Timemaster but cheaper than the Ferris or Scag but is also a wide area walk behind. This is for my .65 acre lawn. My Timemaster is great but I desire a bigger gas tank and pneumatic tires and casters to reduce ruts from the tires. Yes, I alternate mowing direction every time I cut the lawn.
Thanks for watching. I’ll have a video coming out with me mowing 3/4 acres with this soon. The gas tank isn’t large but I’ve never run out on a job and just refill it each use. For the quality and what you get I think the mower is well worth the money when compared to the competition as this I would put in the category of the bigger wall behinds like the FW25 or FW35 but just a smaller deck. If you are just mowing your lawn maybe look at the Ferris ISX800 zero turn as the ride is very comfortable and will hopefully last you many years and save you so much time it will be worth paying a little extra for it.
@@rick3747 You’re welcome and thanks for watching! I’ve been seeing prices drop drastically and some major rebate deals which is good for some companies.
I would never buy another 21in mower after having this. It saves about 40% time and this has a hydro drive which makes it super easy to maneuver. The toro is a belt drive with no reverse and you will get a workout trying to use that as these are heavy machines plus you’ll enjoy an extra two inches of cut. Go to your dealer and try both out but I couldn’t image not having this in my lineup. Thanks for watching!

Yes, it paid for itself in weeks. Saves me about 40% time which means I can cut more properties over a 21 inch mower. I use it every week on several properties. Nothing comes close to it in its class. Super smooth hydro drive with reverse, easy one handed operations, pneumatic tires, 10hp motor, and built like a tank. Just add an hour meter and oil drain hose. My go to is always a zero turn but this is great for gated backyards, hills, and when I need a light footprint when the yard is soaked. Thanks for watching and try one out.
Thanks for posting this! I'm torn between the Scag SFC 30" and the Ferris. I'm leaning towards the Ferris because of the pneumatic rear wheels, lever adjusted speed, and the simple reverse. Try them both out and see what suits your needs.
Cut has been great with the mulch kit. I’ve used Honda 21in push mowers for many years and the power of this mower is great. Like any lawn cut it every week as if it gets too tall then you may have to double cut but that’s with any mower.
