My hypothesis is that it's because it's less unexpected and somewhat consensual whereas in normal situations, you're kinda assaulted audio-wise.
Consistent sensory input is calming. Changes in volume or tone both up and down can trigger anxiety while falling asleep.
Just pretend you're laying a baby down, and you'll be good
if someone in real life did that “hey, pay attention” thing to me i think i’d smack them. but this video makes it so satisfying and nice

Over a year later, this is still one of my favourite Gibi videos. I must've watched it hundreds of times. I have a predicament where I need ASMR to relax and help me sleep, but I can't fall asleep while wearing headphones. This is one of the best ASMR videos out there that I can just watch every night on my phone. The brushing the camera makes me close my eyes (and I generally just love it as a trigger) and the repetition and attention getting is just awesome. Really hope to see more of this kind of thing from her in the future. Not putting my money on it, and I also don't mind if we don't as I'm more than happy just rewatching this video lol
