  • Tensions have been rising at Wethersfield in Essex, where around 600 asylum seekers are being held in a former military base. The men, a number of whom claim to be torture survivors, are waiting for their claims to be processed by the Home Office.
The Home Office say their detainment is a temporary solution while their claims are actioned. But these men say their stay has long-exceeded the promised maximum of 9 months.
We went to Wethersfield to speak to those living in conditions they describe as prison-like.

There is no law that states they have to stop in the first safe country they arrive at.
Why did Ukrainian refugees arrive in Britain if that was the case.
If they learn the most spoken language in the world (English) there is a chance they will never be a refugee ever again. That is their point of view on it.
What expanded the problem was an inept right wing government that cut funding to process the genuine claims and remove the non genuine.
Which the left wing Labour government was doing in 2009.
Brexit removed Britains ability to send back to France. (Scrapping the Dublin agreement)
Of course the ultimate issue was David Cameron agreeing to bomb Libya with the US to remove Gaddafi which has created the crisis.
No one crossed the Med until Gaddafi was toppled.
If you don't know by now why that happened then i suggest you return to school and study American foreign policy aggression and Gaddafi's gold standard rival currency to the petrodollar.
