Nope, the reanimation jutsu was made for interrogation and information extraction purposes only. Orochimaru adjusted the Edo tensei to allow the revived to use their own jutsu, with Hashirama’s cells. It’s all explained in the manga/anime.

If he really hated them, he would have done the same as Hitler, putting them in concentration camps as slaves or directly killing them, instead he gave them a place in the village (with ulterior motives, but they were not aimed at punishing them, but rather at keep an eye on them)
Edo tensei was also used to match and counter uchiha izanagi, as they could simply revive themselves in combat with a rather small sacrifice(a eye for a life a mean), so only his side was receiving the losses there, thus edo tensei became a thing to reduce his side casualties by making the enemy fight themselves and do suicidal attacks.

Nope, the reanimation jutsu was made for interrogation and information extraction purposes only. Orochimaru adjusted the Edo tensei to allow the revived to use their own jutsu, with Hashirama’s cells. It’s all explained in the manga/anime.
