This show did the Dark Phoenix saga better than The Last Stand did. Heck, it did Dark Phoenix better than Dark Phoenix.

You didn't see the parallels between the two characters? Sure, Jean Gray never lost her knowledge that she was a mutant, but they share a core character trait - that of the "ordinary girl" coming to grips with their previously unknown powers, and losing themselves to said power.
@@eugeneruby433 If we are talking about movie Jean, sure. Comic Jean... doesn't have that trait. At least not nearly as big as the movies make it. And not regarding the Phoenix Force, only her own telepathic powers that have been inhibited by Prof X.
The Phoenix is a whole other story that honestly doesn't have much to do with "unknown power" or losing herself in that power. Cause. That Jean that goes mental literally is not Jean. It's a copy made by the Phoenix and controlled by it, but it starts to believe itself to be Jean (taking on all her memories, emotions yada yada). And because the Phoenix doesn't yet know how to deal with human emotions and because the telepath Mastermind manipulated it, it tasted "evil" for the first time and went nuts because it liked the feel of power.
It's not about "losing control" about her powers in any way. It's just the Phoenix being corrupted by mindtricks and it's own naivety.

I’m still incredibly annoyed that they were so worried about Allison getting hurt by a murderer that they all joined together and it was able to pull Luther out of his funk, but literally almost nobody worried at ALL about the fact that Vanya was DATING said murderer. Allison was the only one worried for her that tried to help her.

She doesn’t have telekinesis she can use sound and vibrations and use it at at will as she pleases like she can convert it into pure powerful energy and she can somehow drain the life force of a human to a certain extent

How exactly did Vanya's powers go from using the force to becoming the freaking Death Star?
Late but her power is based in sound and vibrations which she can control. Sound and vibrations are everywhere and much like how light can be rather harmless but can also be used to make literal laser beams through high concentration of it. Sound can also become deadly with high concentration, going from a regular heartbeat, to shattering glass, to damaging ears and in theory, create a powerful beam in a high enough concentration and force.

It wouldn't cancel out her powers-we've seen the Umbrella Academy members evade bullets, so by that logic, they're all faster than sound, sans Vanya who has only demonstrated reaction speed on the level of a normal human. The reason why her power was interrupted here was due to the sudden noise and shock factor.
@@annamarielee3 Yeah. Just like how Allison's power is based on her voice, or Diego's on his arms, Vanya's is based on her hearing. If someone fires a gun next to her ear (S1 E10) and she temporarily loses her hearing, you nullify her powers. If she goes deaf, she's powerless.
Allison shot next to her ear, so instead of focusing on whatever sound is letting her use her powers, it's interrupted by the force of a gunshot.
Kyoza Agreed. You can also see this in her youth and when she starts destroying the house. Van ya starts off in a soundproof room and then walks through the house. She was locked in the sound proof room so she couldn’t hear anything, and when it got to a certain point Mr. Hargreaves put her on medication to either keep her powers from appearing or make her forget that she was locked in a very silence soundproof box for a large amount of her childhood. I’m going to go with the latter because it seems more logical.

The only "training" she really needed was to learn how to control her moods on her own. That done n she could've been the fiercest weapon the Umbrella academy had. Or at least not so tempestuous n hurt.

So I'm still fuzzy on the mechanics of Vanya's powers. I know it's based on sound waves, but it seems like a tri-brid of Sono/Audiokinesis, Telekinesis, and Vibrokinesis all wrapped up in one.
she can turn the sound waves into so powerful energy that can be used in so much ways.

but five always said that the apocalypse would always happen, and Vanya would always be the cause. One way or another something would have pushed her over the edge. But I agree with you on the fact that it was halfway Luther because he was the one that made her mad.
Her power works by channelling sound waves and turning them into destructive energy... and they stop her by firing a gun right next to her head? Yeah, can't imagine why that went badly guys.
I think because of how close the gun was to her ear, and with all the energy that she was already channeling (apparently multi-continental level), her body overloaded.
It distracted her and overcharged her power

Vanya's destructiveness in the last episode was fueled by the sounds of her surroundings, which only incremented when she started playing the violin, however she was only playing, not trying to fight or display the energy waves at all, and because her powers were out of control, they just accumulated as light in her chest (that's why her suit and violin turned white), because this overload of energy left her in a kind of trance, the sound of the gunshot interrupted said power trance and just bursted out in the shape of a light laser.
Fight me if you want but Vanya as White Violin looks beautiful af.

Vanya wouldnt had turn like that if she had proper training and sir reginald didn’t reject her powers just because of how much potential they had she could’ve been a good hero and it makes it worse that everyone else rejects her because she was ordinary and when they had allison rumor vanya its was pretty sad

I liked how they sidestepped all the many other suggestions that Allison could've given Vanya, and just settled on removing her powers. I thought her power of persuasion was absolute, I mean it can even be literal - exploding heads.

She was so left out . Her father could have trained her to be better instead of making her forget she had powers . That's why she did what she did . And I support the fact that she was bout to end the world cause why not
Her father tried to train her, but it was too risky. If she got upset, or uncontrollable, she could have easily murdered someone by accident. Especially at such a young age, children are uncontrollable, so it would be hard to train her. He's still human, he probably wanted to live and not risk his life

I was soooo sad I cried
This girl is the best of all the characters in show. Most became so damn annoying after a while. Sometimes I wish more had died lol. They angered me that much. Also they were so boring that at times I forgot what their powers were to be honest.
Except for Diego, Klaus, Five and Ben in my opinion. The four of them including Vanya were also one of the best characters in the show. Diego and Klaus had some character development: Diego losing his cop ex-lover and later on seeking vengeance on the person who murdered her, only to end up realizing that revenge is not the only solution. And Klaus showing us how not many people take us seriously when we are having very difficult problems in our own lives, and much like how people mistreat us when we are in need for their comfort. Five was very interesting and also a relatable character like the rest. Him time-traveling until the future where the Apocalypse happened, stuck there for most probably a decade until was found and hired by time-traveling assassins to kill people to get the time accurate, and also has mental problems for being along in the future for years, and then end up being an adult man stuck in his own 15 year old body self. Ben, like Klaus, was a funny guy and a witty, collected character who I wish had more screen time in the show. I really like Ben and the actor who plays him. And lastly is Vanya, a character who was uninteresting at first until we get to see more of her personality and abilities in a few episodes. She is the most extraordinary character with a troubled past I've seen in this show, and I pity her for most of the time when none of her family even care to listen to her. I blame mostly Luther for being an idiot in imprisoning her. There's a lot of things I could say but I guess that's all I have to put in mind.

He was lied to all his life and felt worthless because he was told he didn't have powers and felt neglected because Mr. Hargreeves never payed attention to him. Then when they find they do have powers of course they become out of control
