      I can't decide which monitor to buy. Should I buy the alienware AW2725DF,AW3225QF or the msi mpg 271qrx?
      I play multiplayer and story games equally, but currently more story games. Currently less multiplayer because I'm still waiting for my new internet connection. My current monitor is 13 years old and it's simply not worthy of my new 2k usd PC.

      @akaEnDeD the coating is better, but really its just the overall picture quality. The lg colors were very dull and text fringing was bad. I essentially couldnt use gsync as it caused bad flickering as well. the Alienware fixes all of that. Colors are vibrant, text is crisp, and no vrr flickering so far!

    The thing that a lot of reviews mention… if you look closely at the display, it has micro scratches/blemishes on it. This is present on almost all of them and has long plagued the Alienware DW 34 inch QD OLED. It has to do with how they package it and tape scratchy wrap to the screen. I know because I have had 3 of them that all had it. It is present on this display and other RUclips videos show it. Some people just don’t look closely at their screen. Under light, it’s there.

    • @xhydrox

  • @ClearAlera
    @ClearAlera 4 месяца назад +4

    Regarding the intro, it's very easy to believe where else top end monitors can go from here:
    - Screen coatings could get way better. Currently our two options are super reflective with raised/purple-looking blacks in any environment that isn't a batcave, or a coating that's so matte the image looks like it's been dimmed and covered in vaseline.
    - Brightness needs to be improved, once again, in any environment that isn't pitch black
    - Firmware needs to be usable at launch. Seriously, have there ever been any flagship OLEDs that have been good to go without massive bugs on release day? Even this monitor is STILL super buggy on the most up-to-date firmware that came out a few days ago, and it's been available for about 2 months. Since we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, it gives the appearance that the monitor devs, GPU devs, and Windows devs are all shunning each other.
    - Longevity is probably an issue but we won't know for sure until a few years have passed. My secondary display was ASUS' LCD flagship from 8 years ago and the image is still as bright and crisp as the day I bought it. My OLED will probably have degraded to the point of unusability in that amount of time.
    I'm not saying OLEDs are bad in general, I'm just saying it's obvious where they need to go from here.

    Unfortunately in many cases Pre built PCs are now cheaper than sourcing the parts and building it yourself. I recently built a new PC with a 4090. While I still enjoy picking the specific parts that I want and having a machine I know is upgradable, if I would've have bought an Alienware 4090 pre built with the many deals that Dell offers, I would have saved around $1200.
