      Personally, I didn’t like Junko at all. I truly believe she only continued to be “friends” with Hachi to feel superior to someone. There’s a difference between being honest/straight to the point, and just being insensitive and she was insensitive. It was also extremely frustrating how prior to the breakup, Hachi was being shamed for not having any independence and it being “too much” for Shoji (despite it being like a few days that she had even gotten to Tokyo so she hadn’t even settled in yet), but once she secured a job, got a new circle of friends, and an apartment, her newfound independence was used against her and was the supposed reason as to why Shoji cheated.

    • @higashiwhy
      @higashiwhy 8 месяцев назад +43

      to be honest, Kyosuke was also in the wrong. He saw Shoji cheating with sachiko FIRST and he didn't scold him, instead he said "hey Sa-chan :)" to Sachiko and later told Junko that she was cute too. Yeah, he did not scold Nana like Junko did, but he was not a good friend either, both Kyosuke and Junko took Shoji's side because they thought Nana did not treat Shoji right, even though she just moved in for him to Tokyo, got an apartment and a job all by herself and was adjusting to everything... They were good friends to her in some situations, but not people who TRULY cared about her wellbeing at all, compared to NanaO. They saw her as a burden and excused their actions towards her because they believed all along that Nana was the problem. Which she was, but along with Shoji too. So yeah, not a big fan of Junko OR Kyosuke.

A real friend tells the truth regardless of one's feelings, and helps them heal by navigating right from wrong. Same goes for her friendship with Hachi. If June was more clear about how exhausting it was having to deal with the mess Hachi creates, I can guarantee you Hachi would've made a change like we see her do later in the show. Now because June always wants to be the bigger person she'll stick with Hachi just to tell her off. Even her own boyfriend sides with Hachi most of the time. The fact that she couldn't believe it when Hachi scored with Nana and Takumi, like it's impossible or something, shows that she has some sort of animosity towards her. Although not admitting it, she gets her ego bruised when Hachi seems to be figuring out her questionable choices - and claims to be proud of her, while continuing to gossip with Shoji and Kyosuke. That for me is the embodiment of a fake friend.

    I HATE how Junko blames Hachi for getting cheated on with the excuse of "you're not making as much time for Shoji." But she literally MOVED to Tokyo to be with him!! And then she only moved out and became roommates with Nana cause she didn't want to be a burden to Shoji and Junko herself has always told Hachi she isn't responsible or mature enough. So Hachi matured and got her own apartment and job in Tokyo and became more independent. Like I really feel like Junko only stayed friends with Hachi, despite being annoyed with her at times, because it made her feel better about her own intelligence when being around someone whom she deemed as less intelligent and less mature than her. Their friendship reminds me of those between two girls where one is insecure while the other girl feeds off her insecurities to feel more confident in herself.

I mean, it was always obvious she was annoyed and exhausted by her, so why not just leave? Was it that she didn't wanna feel guilty? Was it her superiority complex? I mean, you went off to go play wifey for a year with a man who's entire style you jacked and now you an expert on life and love? I just started Nana and I passed the cheating episode. When I tell you I wanted to jump through the screen and beat Junko and Shoji’s ass I was readyyyy!! Poor Nana no matter what she did she was damned if she did damned if she don’t. “Omg you need to be independent-“ goes and finds an apartment and a job in the same day. “You’re irresponsible with your money-“ after losing her first job finds a new one right away and despite it not being the ideal work environment, sucks it up because she prioritizes getting her bills paid and having a roof over her head than her pride. The list goes on lol and when Junko showed up to the house (I would’ve cut her off after this) she admits that she only came because Shoji asked her to. Not because her friend is heartbroken and rightfully upset or because she cares about her no, your shitty ex asked me to. Then gonna flip it and literally insinuate that Shoji was justified in cheating because it’s all about Shoji and his punk ass feelings! I can’t wait to finish this series I’m gonna buy the manga too!!!

    Junko is not a girls girl. That’s just straight facts. Because if I was Nana’s bff, I’m fighting her ex and his side piece because how tf dare they? Like just because Nana was doing what she has to to keep her head afloat, became responsible, and living her life, she’s distant? And I hate how Junko blames Nana HERSELF for her and Shoji’s relationship ending. I would have dropped her and Kyosuke because they covering up Shoji’s mess and defending him. They should have PUT THEIR FOOT DOWN and told Shoji straight up to not do this. But nah. They are lazy about it and Junko even lied to Nana/Hatchī herself. Nana 2 and her friends have been more real and truthful than the people Nana considers the ones she loved ever have. If I was Nana, I would be OUTSIDE in Miami. Like fuck those three she used to call her friends and boyfriend. Like who are they? Nana deserves better. And Sachiko is a pick me bitch and a hypocrite because she still went after someone’s man. And if I was Nana, again, I would have kept Shoji right by my side, because people like Sachiko is the type you need to keep your eye on.

    By the end of the show, when hachi is with takumi, and she tells junko that she's fine. Junko says it's good she finally got both feet on the ground... But Hachis eyes, they lost the spark by then, the happiness she had in her eyes in the beginning of the show, was beginning to fade by then. By the time it was a time skip, hachiko honestly looked dead inside.
    As for junko, she might have secretly gotten off on nipping at hachiko. She was NOT her mother, she was supposed to be her friend.
    As for her siding with Shoji, honestly I think she might be a tade bit misogynistic. Yes she warned hachiko about takumi, but fucking hell, she didn't want to hear or see her cry at all...
    I think, behind closed doors, hachiko cried a lot more than people realized. She seems like naruto, where she tries to put on a brave face, and cry alone.

    I feel like June was definitely way too hard on Nana but in her own way she did care about her. It’s still fuck her because as Nana’s bestie it was her job to tell Nana about Shoji and Sachiko the minute she found out. Yea she was a snide bitch to Shoji afterwards but it gave she was more on his side than Nanas because the way she just brushed off Nana’s feelings was insane I feel like a lot of closed minded ppl are like this Nana didn’t need a lecture a day after she got her heart broken she needed her friend to be there for her. But June wasn’t all bad she gave Nana tough love when she definitely needed it too like when she got pregnant but it was just too excessive and I think it was lame how she kept trying to justify what Shoji did and she helped him move in with Sachiko. I'm so glad you finally said it! Like it's funny how some in the fandom idolise Junko (remember that dumb meme that said "she carried the show" with a pic of Junko💀💀💀) when she's clearly not worth it. This woman, instead of standing up for Hachi and being supportive, constantly berated her and let's not forget, literally encouraged Hachi to be with Takumi's r@pist @ss along with her so called "chill" bf. Junko is basically the epitome of the annoying mom friend everyone must avoid at all cost. Sure I can understand her trying to be more practical and realistic, but she wasn't even that. She just lectured Hachi like an annoying auntie and lemme remind u, is complicit in encouraging Hachi's toxic relationship with 🤮Takumi🤮. Sure being independent and taking care of a kid all by yourself is not an easy thing, but its a much better option than staying with a narcissist like Takumi. Junko is one of the major issues I have with the show, along with many more like the creepy relationship between Shin and Reira and just women in this ya manga are treated in general. Also is this woman (Junko) even black? Like what is she doing wearing a fro and cornrows?

  • @misspiggysdimples

    When Shoji cheated, June should've told Hachi the truth instead of using the possibility of a broken heart as an excuse.

    Junko didn't blame Hachi for Shoji cheating on her, she just pointed out that Hachi contributed to the failure of her relationship with Shoji. Junko also didn't take any sides, and you have to understand that she is a mutual friend of both Hachi and Shoji and she was in the middle of a rock and a hard place. Junko didn't want to get in the middle of Hachi and Shoji's problems and she wanted them to solve their own issues and figure things out. I know a lot of fans hate Junko, but I have to say that she does make sense sometimes. When Junko visited Hachi the day after she broke up with Shoji, Junko told her that there were problems between her and Shoji before Sachiko came into the picture and she is 100% correct on that and even Hachi agreed with her. There were a lot of miscommunication between Hachi and Shoji and both parties kept on denying each other to spend time with each other. Whenever Shoji offered to spend time with Hachi, she will always turn him down and she would rather spend time with Nana and the other bandmates of BLAST. Even Hachi forgot about Shoji. Hachi was emotionally unavailable to Shoji, she found her independence and she became cold and distant towards him as well. I personally didn't think that Shoji wanted Hachi to be independent and he didn't have an issue with her being independent, I just think he wanted her to stop being childish and overbearing. Sachiko on the other hand, was emotionally available to Shoji at the time and that's why they both hit it off well. Shoji liked the fact that Hachi needed him and he also liked the fact that she relied on him, and when Hachi came to Tokyo, she didn't need him anymore and that hurt him big time. Even Kyosuke said that Hachi stopped fitting into Shoji's ideal type and he didn't like that. Junko is a real good friend because Hachi is immature and she needed to grow up and stop acting like a baby. Hachi always went to Junko to seek advice because she appreciated her tough love and harshness and this is what she needs, Hachi needs someone to tell her the truth about herself so that she can become a better person and evolve. I also want to say that Hachi did in fact become a better person and she became more mature later on in the story. Shoji is definitely to blame for cheating, but both Hachi and Shoji contributed to the failure of their relationship and this is what Junko is talking about.

      You’ve gotta admit Junko was more of friend to Shoji in this situation tho. I mean, I get she’s got this whole tough love thing but she rlly lacks some kind of emotion/ compassion in this situation for someone who’s supposed to be her best friend. Hatchi is supposed to be her best friend and she chose the route of berating her for “taking him for granted” when she knew he was cheating and didn’t say a word to hatchi about it. You can want to be neutral all u want between friends but it was clear who she valued as a friend and it ain’t Hatchi. Junko seems like a good friend but every scene of her was the same pattern and their dynamic is so incompatible that you’d think she didn’t even like Hatchi and just tolerated her (there’s no excuse for that, if she’s mature enough to dish out life lessons, she could’ve ended that friendship the moment she felt Hatchi was too much for her) I mean they were all in there early 20s trying to figure out life and she berated this girl for every choice she made like she’s supposed to be the most mature adult at 20. Then when she gets pregnant, she tells her not to cry and basically not even come to her for comfort when she ends up with Takumi (someone I’d want my friend to tell me about considering the abuse she was enduring) I think part of the reason Hatchi endured that abuse and didn’t “complain” was because Junko told she no longer could cuz she “chose this”. I’m not saying she’s the worst friend in history but seriously don’t think she was the best at all. She’s just a pretty face with a superiority complex… I’d go as far as to say she got off from Hatchi “failing” and needing her and that’s why she kept her around despite finding her annoying. She’s a well written character but just like almost every other 20 something in the show.. she’s just as flawed if not more.

    I personally think you've missed a lot, Junko and Shouji were friends since middle school, nana and Junko met in high school. I agree that cheating is disgusting but outright cutting off a close friend of many years because of something that doesn't affect you is ridiculous, Junko not telling nana that Shouji was cheating was also the better decision i know me personally I would prefer my significant other to come to me and tell me something like that, and not my close friends who happened to find out. Lets also not act like Shouji and Nana's relationship was pristine every time they'd meet up it would end up in and argument over something so small, they barely saw each other or made time for each other and Shouji didn't like the fact that she was being independent and more time than not just wanted a bootycall. Nana is also incredibly immature and depends on people too much she is spoiled by everyone and you can see that throughout the show, so I believe Junko is an important figure in Nana's life and even Nana herself acknowledges that going as far as referring to her as a second mother. Junko may be harsh and blunt about the things she says but it helps put things in perspective for Nana and her advice more times than not helps her. I feel as if people have become too soft and want to be coddled and told that they never did anything wrong, to always have people agree and side with you no matter the circumstance. As I already said Junko was in a tough position and she was just mature enough and made all the right decisions its not the best idea to get heavily involved in other peoples conflict.

    Ummm let's stop the cap. She gave hachi tough love. Yall love being coddled and that's why shit fucked up now. She's been Hachi friend since hs and she was actually Shouji friend first. She's was the biggest parent figure Hachi had. Yall forget hachi has been boy crazy since they met. Junko was the realest friend because you need someone who gon be honest and make you grow not coddled you and keep you stagnant

      I agree and disagree. Yes, she gave Hachi "tough love", but what kind of friend watches their friend get cheated on? what kind of friend victim blames? there is a difference between being honest and being rude, and Junko was rude.

      @JTMUSICCHANNEL Год назад +3

      She didnt blame her but she was honest. Hachi even said she was right. Kyouske said she was harsh but right. You cant keep codling someone like Hachi or they wont grow up you have to make them acknowledge their own mistakes. You have to be blunt so they get the picture. She was starting to neglect him. Junko's point was even without the cheating they probably were gonna break anyways @@lijbear

      People that say Junko sucks, would've done the same thing if they were in her shoes, having to deal with a friend that lacks a spine that needs to be set straight, if anything she's a very realistic character. And people hate that, they don't like being lectured in honesty. Low key, i'm reminded why it's best to stay off this fan community that obviously is mentally too young to understand literacy and make up conclusions. 😂😂😂💀💀💀

      Ur right hachi was immature throughout high school. But when she went to tokyo she got her shit TOGETHER. And its funny bc junko is blaming hachi for not spending time with her boyfriend as much when hachi had her OWN APARTMENT, BILLS TO PAY, AND A JOB. Not ONLY THAT if she STAYED with shoji she would’ve spent more time with him BUT NO. SHOJI WANTED HER TO MOVE OUT and even JUNKO thought it was a good idea for her to be independent. It doesnt matter of what Hachi did throughout highschool. SHE WAS THE ONE THAT GOT CHEATED ON. WHY THE HELL IS JUNKO LECTURING HER LIKE SHES THE ONE TO BLAME????

    nah what junko did was the right thing. remember tht both shoji and hachi are her closest friends. she kind of always on the neutral to both shoji and hachi. when she with shoji she talked shit(in a way of what close friend did with each other) about what shoji did and when she with hachi she talked shit about what hachi did which is fair to me. she did not let hachi know shoji cheated on her because she thought shoji was not gonna go that far and forget about it eventually. she also did not let shoji know when hachi kind of have a feeling with the guy where hachi first work at cause she know hachi was gonna forget about it as well. also i believe junko would eventually let hachi know that shoji cheated on her if shoji planning on keeping it a secret.

      So nana wouldnt have her hopes up on the guy.
      She also gaslighted nana that it was her fault for not spending time with shoji
      When nana had to work and bills to pay???
      Also if shoji wasnt getting enough attention he shouldve talked it out with nana or broke up with her before getting someone else.

    i never read manga but i watch anime and im just as pissed as junko to hachi like you are the reason why your life is a mess you literally falling in love with anyone no matter what the age of the guy whether they 40 or 16 hey boyfriend is kind yes she siding with hachi cause he's kind and just don't want her to get more hurt but on junko side she don't care if you are her friend she's gonna be honest with you and tell you what's the problem with your personality which is right cause that's how friend should be a person that will be honest with you and shove you with reality and of who you really are
    and let's not talk about junko being so done with her then why just not leave her that's why i like junko she stays being friend of hachi even tho she's so done with her dumb head
    and about the married man hachi literally said it's her choice to be f by that guy just to feel love and even tho she knows he's married hahaha
    and just want to feel love? she literally the center of attention 🙄 it's just funny how everyone side with hachi and not point about her mistakes let's admit it hachi is the same type of girls to this days she don't want a good man that will take care of her or will work hard for her
    and about shoji yeah junko said a wrong thing at first but after clarifying things hachi just the same falling in love with anyone even tho you still in a relationship simply being a hoe around nana and not giving enough time to shoji like come on that's exactly the same

      Finally..someone who understands Junko in my pov,
      Ppl out here making Junko the antagonist, but why is she held for Haachi's every immaturity? Junko is extremely straight forward, even more than the punk nana, and emotionally mature, yes she talked to haachi after her breakup in shoji's side, but from junko's pov, she grew up with Hachi being sleeping around with older men, and finding anyone attractive, so without being in the spot where she was dumped, she obviously was gonna assume that some part were her fault! And was she wrong about telling nana about being irresponsible with money?

    Everyone is mad at shoji (of course what he did was wrong), but Nana was with a married man, got with Junko's friend (Shoji, knowing the dynamic would be ruined), She technically cheate on Nobu, y'all are delusional, she wanted Takumo more than anyone, she pushed Nana away, she only called Junko when she wanted to cry for a man, she almost got with the furniture man (if he had said yes, we all know ahe would have). We get all these situations to understand that nobody is right or wrong, they are all people with different personalities messing up or figuring it out. Everyone here is way too invested in the cutesy only
